  1. Wow. Muel. These refs don’t call body hits
  2. I think he is playing fine. Rookie playing 4 in a row now. A bad penalty
  3. Flames doing a lot of holding and interference. These refs call everything with the stick, and nothing body to body.
  4. Tage line is getting better, I want them to stop over passing now.
  5. We can play much better. Let’s throw rubber at this goalie.
  6. Kadri drew that penalty, locked the stick in there and did a spin. Got the call.
  7. Levi that was risky puck handling in front of Huberdeau.
  8. Eric Johnson nice. I like this guy. We could use another vet like him (but younger).
  9. Good evening Teammates, Punch checking in. Bad start. Let’s go boys. MUSCLE WEIGHT
  10. I know a guy. I'll see what I can do.
  11. "They" is not all the same people. The "They" that didn't sign him as a player is long gone. The "They" that didn't hire him after his stint with the Jr Sabres is long gone - not to mention the leap from juniors to NHL is quite steep. The "They" that did not promote him from assistant coach in Rochester to assistant coach in Buffalo is the current regime. Apparently "They" did not think his moving up was an upgrade to their staff right now - even if some of the fans do (including me). Maybe that is a mistake? We don't know yet. We know he was a Selke winner and a fan favorite so we want to believe that he should be able to help the PK and the defensive play but we don't know, we are fans with limited access. We do know that Laviolette knows him and is giving him a shot. His leaving and working for a past coach is normal. It is the way most coaching careers advance. You take the best job offered instead of waiting around to be promoted. If Granato gets fired there is no guarantee that one of his assistants, or Appert, will get his job, or that any of them will even be retained. I think he is better off working for a proven NHL coach in the long run. He will learn more and integrate the things he likes from DG and from PL into his own style. Peca leaving does not mean he would not ever come back if the right offer was there. Trust me on it.
  12. I recall hearing that the owners went to Southern Cal and discovered the wonders of taco's, then brought them back. Don't know if that was true. I also remember Taco Bell coming to Buffalo and failing on the first try. The original Mighty Taco on Hertel were made with much better ground beef and better cheese than today's sorry version. They were bigger too. Does anyone lese here remember the high counter that you ordered the tacos from? The workers were looking down on the crowd, most of them had funny (if not sarcastic) wise cracks for their drunken clientele. Agree - not really Mexican at all, but a Buffalo thing nonetheless. WPHD FM (103.3) was always on the radio there - in their early days that radio station played album format rock. The DJ's typically played one full side of a 33 rpm LP record album at a time (about 20 minutes per side on average), if not the entire album. They only talked when they were flipping the record over or changing it. Hardly any commercials either. Good days. Sometimes less is more.
  13. Back in the 70's, when there was ONE Mighty Taco - and it was on Hertel, down the street from Gables, they were the best Taco's in town. And the only Taco's in town. A few local hippies started a business and it worked.
  14. How can you say that after we hired Phil Housley? He has lived in Buffalo a long time and his wife is from Buffalo. He loves the area and it is close to his family on Ontario. It could happen and is not a fancy daydream. But he has to be good enough to get the shot. Leaving now and working for a Cup winning coach is a good way to get that opportunity later.
  15. I saw this place in Kenmore but we were out for Pizza that night. Great info for my next visit! I love seeing the West Side being mentioned several times here. My old stomping grounds. Several parts of the West Side are thriving again. Those old homes and neighborhoods still have such potential too.
  16. For some reason I do not see Benson as slight, even with the 170lb weight. He looks more sturdy than Reinhart did as a rookie and he is playing in the NHL at a younger age and is smaller. His body position is always smart and his head is up. I like Greenway on his line and I think this years Greenway will be a deterrent to opponents getting out of line, although with Lucic and Marchand you never know what they will do.
