  1. He destroyed that goalie. He had room all over the place.
  2. Samson. Now Gretzky can be happy.
  3. Could be. Before any trade, I would want to do a real evaluation of him with his peer group to really understand were he ranks. Summer development camp is good. Rochester would be even better for him. The coaching staff there is doing good work.
  4. Perhaps Pegula was also impressed with Krueger? The guy could talk.
  5. Ozark was very good but dark. Dark plot and dark camera work.
  6. Starting watching Succession, I know, it been out for 4 seasons. I am on Season 1, episode 6. I like it but the Mrs is finding it hard to like any of the characters in the family.
  7. The trade of the 6th rounder might have been a low risk favor to another GM. Who was the pick? Hard to argue with these takes. He made some big errors. I hope Pittsburgh takes him and we keep Karmanos.
  8. Unfortunately no. Murray was worse. Murray botched the rebuild in many ways and he did not know enough about the players he was acquiring. Botterill made mistakes in Buffalo but he is still in the NHL as AGM for Seattle. He has a shot at the Pittsburgh GM job because he is considered a very bright guy that others in the league are willing to work with. Murray is working midnight shift and weekends at the 7-11 in Shawville, Quebec.
  9. I would love to see another strong game from Gudas and another Florida win. I can’t even believe I said that.
  10. I was very hopeful about Housley but a lot of fans here were not. Disco Dan didn’t require great insight or hindsight to know there were reasons why a young SC winning coach was on the outs. Of course maybe he does better with a championship ready cast like in Pittsburgh? If the people running the team had any actual insight we wouldn’t be talking about hindsight so much. I expect the GM to know more than the fans. Johnson doesn’t need a deadline unless you want to send him away for sure. I don’t see that Johnson’s signing should impact team planning. Adam’s knows that he needs to improve the top 4. Johnson is not going to be the guy to take the 4D spot from Jokiharu anytime soon. Adam’s must make a move to bring in a veteran. If Johnson decides the Sabres are a good move for him there is a place in Rochester for him to start his professional career.
  11. I also go and I wear shorts and a Tee shirt, although now I bring a hoody too. I love a cold rink and the sound of hockey practice. Love it. I hope to make it this year, I should be in town.
  12. Two possibilities and two more reasons to turn the page on this guy.
  13. Trotz to Nashville. Nashville will be back and they will be hard to play. It amazes me how out of touch Pegula and his GMs were with hiring head coaches. Rolston, Nolan, Bylsma, Housley and Krueger - Epic bad choices. Unfathomable that these were our HC's during the drought.
  14. My dislike for Eichel has nothing to do with his surgery and everything to do with his attitude and his leadership. His interview after the first Knights-Sabres game showed us who he is. All the reports were true. He was a petulant and entitled brat. I doubt that Thompson, Dahlin, and several others, would be thriving like they are today if Jack was still around to lead them. Vegas is a good place for him because they have so much veteran leadership that they don't need it from him. I am glad he is gone. The trade did benefit both Jack and the Sabres.
  15. South Buffalo?
  16. Sam and Brandon if those are the choices.
  17. I read you first post and replied based on my impression of Miller’s play as a Sabre. You have responded 3 more times and now I have no idea what you are saying. You liked Colin Miller in Buffalo and that’s fine. We certainly had worse players than him during his tenure here. I thought Montour was good, not at the level he is now obviously, but definitely talented. He is in a better place for him, he has matured, his game is consistent , good to see him succeed. Your last post? Don’t know what to say other than you lost me. The Sabres ownership and prior FO(s) created a terrible culture, one that most players could not thrive in. I think we can all agree with that. Beyond that, I am not interested in what people think of past players or who revises their stories. I am looking forward to see if Adams can make this team a perennial contender, his stated goal.
  18. We shall see what the market is for a guy that just scored 28 goals, improved his 5v5 scoring, and has at least 20 goals in the last 3 of 4 seasons. I think we can package Olofsson in a "hockey trade" that improves our team right now. Draft choice tickets are nice but we need a top 4 defenseman to stabilize the backline and if KO/ZG leave we could use a veteran two way forward with PK ability on the bottom 6.
  19. It would be fun to see him play. This off season will be one of the most interesting with Savoie and Kulich fighting to make the roster. I do not recall the Sabres ever having a stream of good prospects like this. This group is even bigger and maybe more impactful than the Ryan Miller Amerks group.
  20. We didn't roll over and play poorly that game either. Their journeyman goalie stood on his head and won the game for them. It is hard to rationalize that the Sabres would be doing anywhere near as well. We do not match up to Boston like they do, they simply were more physical than the Bruins, not something you see too often. We probably would not be getting the Bobrovsky-like goaltending needed to shut down the Leaves big guns either. Whenever we played the Canes we had to shorten the bench drastically, which during playoff time is the opposite of what you want to do. The Panthers got hot and they squeaked in because we lost points to poor teams that were below us in the standings. Our home ice performance and inconsistent goaltending was a problem.
  21. Yes, he really was. I know at times he was playing hurt (like all players do), but sometimes he was unbelievably bad. He was capable of much more, but he didn't deliver. Like Montour and many others, he was another guy that was put in a bad situation and didn't want to be here. After missing on Stahl and Hall, Adams learned something important. He really got it right getting Tuch, a veteran that wanted to be here and could help change the culture. Over the past 10 years there are so many veteran players that did not do well in Buffalo that it becomes hard to blame the players without looking within. Maybe some of these veteran players didn't object to Buffalo at first, but a run of FO/GM firings, some really bad head coaches (none that ever got another HC shot in the NHL), poor leadership within the team, player cliques and factions, small crowds of mostly unhappy people, and the organizations top-down acceptance of losing all took a huge toll on the players and the reputation of the franchise.
  22. Throw Doug Armstrong in the rumor mill. Still on contract in St Louis but Toronto is a “dream job” for him.
