  1. Yes. I get called "boss" or "dude" or something similar by young people on occasion. I don't like being called "dog". I was called that once and I corrected the young man. Typically I don't say a thing if I sense they are just being friendly or polite. It is on parents to teach their kids how to address elders and how to show respect, otherwise they learn it from other places or they don't learn it at all.
  2. I don't have this kind of neighbor, but I tend to have disdain towards slobs who do not maintain their property or themselves. Especially when the they have the wealth and resources to do so.
  3. Pit Bulls. šŸ˜
  4. They were both second overall, not that it matters.
  5. The last two teams I wanted to see win the Cup are in the finals. I am going for Florida with Reinhart and Montour. Seeing Vegas/Eichel win it would be a terrible outcome.
  6. After watching and listening to his interview I think the author embellished the article. "We had a long road trip and we didnā€™t go through the best places on Earth,ā€ said a smirking Ullmark to NESN during some postgame comments. The only issue to me is who is he to judge other cities? It sounds more like the Boston media embellishing and taking shots.
  7. When you drive with me you wear a seatbelt. No matter what seat your in.
  8. No one knows the real reason he held off signing once the ncaa season ended. He starts with a clean slate to me. We need defensive prospects in Rochester, we just got another one with Johnson.
  9. My recollection is that LaFontaine hired Nolan, then he hired Murray. LaFontaine was out of town for the Ryan Miller trade, something he was against doing. His tear down was not supposed to be a complete and total tear down like Murray did, which was to get rid of every player that ever cared about wearing the Sabres sweater.
  10. He has that knack for being in position, you really canā€™t teach it, itā€™s an awareness, an anticipation, hockey smarts.
  11. We could still retain ZG. I just think he might get a better offer term wise somewhere else.
  12. My point was that Buffalo cannot by evaluated as a poor market by its attendance and revenues without looking at the product. Especially when it had 40 prior years, many of which it was a hotbed fir hockey. Your question is a good one. I consider the teamā€™s performance, the arena, the production experience, concessions - thatā€™s all the product. The owner is responsible for that.
  13. I mention Kyle being platooned. Keeps him fresher, gives ice to someone like Rousek or Jost. As for the concussion comment, Kyle knows the risks his is taking. I trust that Adams and DG understand if this group still needs him. Letā€™s hope Kyle stays healthy and productive, and the team makes the playoffs. That will be another positive step for the organization in culture setting.
  14. New avatar? Hopefully just an off season message. Bring back Rick. The mischievous pose fits you. .
  15. Put the Sabres teams of the last decade in Florida, Tampa, Dallas, Az, Anaheim, Carolina, and those franchises would have folded. Itā€™s amazing that Buffalo draws anything given the Pegula Era of hockey.
  16. No but the guy who traded Tkachuk got fired. Calgary expected to play the same style game with Huberdeau in place of Tkachuk.
  17. I think KO is a good signing but I expect he will be platooned a lot this season to keep him fresh as the season progresses. There are numerous claims in several threads that the Sabres would start the season with 3 or 4 more rookies. Signing Kyle makes these fantasies hard to reach. I think Zemgus could get an offer that we wonā€™t match. I also think Olofsson will be traded. That will open up one or two slots for a rookie to crack. If we lose Z we need another bottom 6 vet imo, last I checked our PK was the dregs.
  18. So, you are saying Okposo was the reason we didnā€™t make the playoffs? All the captain had to do is cheer on the team huh? Everything that went wrong was because the captain didnā€™t lead them out of it? There is so much wrong with this.
  19. Florida will be a pain to play against for awhile.
  20. Florida looking strong to finish the Cains. edit. Then again maybe not
  21. I agree with your take on how you evaluated Eichel. I will add that had Eichel gone to another team in an early rebuilding state he might still look like Buffalo Jack. Vegas Jack benefits greatly from the veteran leadership on that team.
  22. This team has the potential to be very good for a long time if they can develop and manage the talent properly. They are loaded.
  23. Domi is a felon and Hague appears to be a pacifist. It could be for me too.
  24. That is what Iā€™m telling her. She likes uplifting stories about families that care for each other. Iā€™ll be watching it alone, itā€™s not her cup of tea.
  25. All five of them were in the donā€™t want to be here category. Eichel, Reino, Risto were in both categories, they did not want to stay and Adams needed to turn the culture around, meaning they go. These three were big influences on the culture, and like it or not, they were not at that point in their careers the type of leaders to help do it. They all had enough of the circus that became the Buffalo Sabres. Canā€™t blame them, but I am not going to defend them either. Adamā€™s traveled with the team, he saw what was happening and being a former player he knew the team needed a big makeover. Adamā€™s talked to all of them and was open with them, which players will always appreciate. If Montour would have said ā€œKevyn I want to be here to help turn this aroundā€ there is no way he gets traded for a paltry 3rd rounder. We did not get enough for Montour, especially at the trade deadline, but we got a lot for Risto. Trades donā€™t always work our perfectly.
