  1. Brian McDonald is the obscure one from my hints. The last one that I have, that I hinted as a “popular Sabre”, is Mike Robitaille. Robey was added to the Bisons final roster for the playoffs in 1969-70, then he joined the Sabres a few years later I missed a few, like Schmautz and Mickey, on my original count ( should not have missed Larry). Thats 9 total. Al Hamilton is the only one to play in consecutive season for Bisons and then the Sabres.
  2. Correct. They match the third hint. Two good NHLers from the 6 team era that spent a brief time with the Bisons, and played for the Sabres in their later years. Marshall scored 20 for the first year Sabres. Yes to both. No, he was drafted in 70
  3. In addition to Crozier, Dryden, and Al Hamilton, There are 4 more Bison-Sabres. Hints One is a popular figure in Sabres history. One is an obscure player. Two were good NHL players that played for the Bisons briefly when they were young, and then played for the Sabres briefly when they were old.
  4. I can recall TV before channel 29. Commander Tom had the black and white Superman, that was big in the 60’s When Channel 29 came out they had Ultra Man, a Japanese superhero that never talked but he could fire laser beams out of his wrists. After that was Gillian’s Island reruns. Mary Ann wearing tiny shorts and halter tops. Whoa! Let’s push that homework out until after dinner please.
  5. Roger Crozier is another one. Al Hamilton is the most obvious one because he played for the Bisons in their last 2 seasons, and then for the Sabres in their first 2 seasons. Thats 3 total so far, there are a few more.
  6. He is one of them.
  7. I can think of 5 players that played for the Buffalo Bisons and the Buffalo Sabres? Name them (and no internet).
  8. It is very common to say learnt in the UK.
  9. Tom Webster is an interesting player, a one time Bruins prospect and the first player taken in the 1970 expansion draft, and was traded for Roger Crozier so he never played for the Sabres. He had one really good (30 goals and 67 points) season with the Red Wings, followed by an injury plagued season that saw him get shipped to the dreaded California Golden Seals. After that he was a star in the WHA, a league filled with many older NHL and AHL vets. Since you are a Webster fan, I am wondering what current NHL player you think he is similar to?
  10. I liked Commander Tom and his shows, but the puppets were a bit weird. . Dustmop and Matty ?
  11. Yes it is a market thing for me that says Hart not worth the 13OA in this upcoming draft, especially when we already have Levi and UPL. UPL could be pretty close to Hart by next year. Comrie would serve as a stop gap replacement, and a 2nd rounder is all I will give them for Hart. My name is not Murray. Or I might consider trading UPL and a 3rd for Hart. Lets see who gives up a #1 for Hart.
  12. Comrie is a body that has NHL experience. The 2nd rounder is a good enough offer and we have 2 of them. Offering 13OA is not necessary for Hart.
  13. Our 13th? What you schmoking? Comrie and maybe a 2nd rounder.
  14. ... and then Eichel gets a delay of game penalty.
  15. I think it is good. We have lots of prospects to evaluate. Taking more time with Östlund helps us not make a hasty move.
  16. What happened in the goon era was the goonier teams (Flyers, Islanders) did not get enough penalties, hindering the skilled teams in a playoff series. In fact, the skilled teams would often retaliate and then get the penalties. It was like officiating you saw on TV watching professional wrestling.
  17. <sarcasm on> Watching Jack hoist the Cup will be special <sarcasm off>
  18. They will close it when Buffalo gets a benefit for it.
  19. What was disgraceful about it? Pegula finally went after someone a big name and a person with a Cup winning record in the NHL.
  20. They had a lot of injured vets last year, and they have some young talent. I think its a good hire and he will help them.
  21. Congrats Buffalo Bandits and their fans. A 5th Championship Banner will hang from the rafters!
  22. Stillman used his forearm to smash into the opponents visor and knock the helmet off. Nice technique and it saved his knuckles. Then he lands a left with the hand holding the jersey, then the devastating right to the kisser. That guy knows what he is going.
  23. Happy to say I hated the idea of losing on purpose. I remember Nolan trying to win games and the FO trading away his goaltending and anything else was was not nailed down.
  24. Ascending teams - Florida, Devils, Buffalo, Ottawa and Detroit. Holding - Canes, Lightning, Rags, Islanders Could be falling - Leaves, Broons Falling - Pens, Caps Still working on it - Habs, Flyers, CBJ
