  1. Better lighting.
  2. I was trying some Larry David Schtick. I can see TP getting off the rails in the same way
  3. Weegar is not a good comp for Dahlin. No way. Power and a prospect like Rosen.
  4. Lowering your goal is not progress. His goal was to win Stanley Cups. Plural. It is our reason for existence. He would just drill a well if he needed money to make it happen. And Gilbert Perreault is his hero, Christmas his favorite holiday, Oreo double stuffs are his favorite cookie although sometimes Chips Ahoy are too. What is the timeline on the video board? what about the lighting? It’s like a funeral parlor in there.
  5. Zero possibility? Probably. But look at what we accepted for two players that were better than Brady is now. Why does everyone here make trade offers where we grossly overpay?
  6. All I can say is don't believe everything you read on the internet. Maybe GMs don't plan for 5 years down because most get fired in 4 years if they have no success at all. Good hockey operations VPs do plan down the road and control what the GM is doing. Terry is that guy for final say on the payroll. The theory behind Cozens, Tage, and Powers contracts is the exact opposite than what you are being told, in years 5, 6, 7 those contracts should be a bargain - the cap goes up and there is inflation. This all assumes that Cozens, Tage, and Power become stars in the league and maintain a high and consistent level of play. So far Cozens and Tage have slipped after two years of very solid growth in their game- there is no reason to believe that they don't bounce back better next season. Both are very talented and work hard. Power is the one that concerns me. Being a young defenseman it could be mid-20's before he is worth the contract he was given - that is why a bridge was safer but it had the risk of not being able to retain him longer term. Mitts is a nice player and just now reaching peak years for forwards from 25 to 29 years old. He is more consistent that Cozens right now, I am not sure Mitts will be the better player, I still believe that Cozens will be. UPL is looking great. But he could be like Binnington - flashes of greatness and then he settles out into a decent #1 that can get hot from time to time. With Levi on board you can bridge UPL and still have a solid prospect in the wings. Power is the only concerning contract to me. I don't see Cozens or Tage falling off a cliff, but anything can happen I guess.
  7. I know that. Terry better scrap the EEE plan then.
  8. We hope you are right on Power. The talent, vision and skill is there. The size is there. What is missing is physical strength, toughness, and willingness to use his body - all things a "stud anchor" on defense has to posses. Brady is 6'4 and 225 and can score 30+ goals. He is a force right now and getting a power forward that scores goals is just as hard to get as stud defenseman, maybe harder. Brady is also a lunkhead. He has been a minus player every season and he takes a lot of penalties. He is building a reputation as a disturbance, at least in Ottawa. I am not sure he fits into Buffalo but him for Power might be an pretty even trade.
  9. Big dilemma for sure. They cannot lose another NHL level goalie, they are too hard to get and too hard to develop. I would bridge him into his UFA years (3 or 4 years) if there is room. There will be more contracts coming up to pay as well. The Skinner deal is becoming an albatross and Power could have been bridged. We just burned an ELC year on an 18 year old. Mitts is on deck. There will be challenges like all teams face.
  10. He is the father of 6K.
  11. That is the rumor in St Louis and it was there before he signed the big contract. Why is it hard to believe?
  12. Worked just fine???? Don’t confuse a fortunate outcome with great execution. Goaltending cost us the playoffs last year and it was terrible for most of this season, until UPL emerged. How much knowledge does it take to know that Comrie is an injury prone boarderline #2? How many 21 year old NCAA goalies make the jump to the NHL after 7 games? Any normally run team would bring in a vet for insurance and finish your goaltending competition before the season starts. The Sabres had a lackluster off season, a poorly managed training camp and preseason, and they clearly were not ready to take the next step that was promised. UPLs development is a happy and fortunate side effect of Adams stubborn and slow approach.
  13. Send them an ROR type offer. Two vets on their downside, two picks and a prospect - VO (Berglund), Okposo (Sobotka), Savoie or Rosen (Thompson), our #1 (protected), and next years #2, and we can throw in Comrie too. Or an Eichel offer. Tuch, Krebs, a #1 and a #2. Only replace Tuch with Savoie or Rose.
  14. He wants to go home to St Louis.
  15. Best game of the season. Finally hit 3 in a row.
  16. Wow. Luke pitches a shutout in the shoot out.
  17. I thought Tage had that. Tuch and Mitts totally gassed.
  18. The have to stay smart. Go get this game.
  19. Dahlin’s skates show he was trying to stop. Bunting pushed him into the goalie.
