  1. My feed is the Winnipeg broadcast.
  2. Dam, three turnovers in our zone.
  3. Good evening Teammates, Punch checking in. Big game. Gotta get a Dub tonight. Benson, Krebs, Comrie - all have something to play for, it’s gonna be tough tonight. Go Sabres !!! Muscle Weight.
  4. Reminds me of a song from 1977. Live on the Midnight Special.
  5. Too bad. The Rockpile was an experience. I didn't know it was a bad facility until I was told by the newspapers. Bills won there. Bison's of the AHL won a championship the year before the Sabres. They had a team with many future NHL players. I sent you that photo as a wake up call. It even has a new name now, AKG, that no one will use but out of town people. It has brand new sections added to it. Its blends the past and modern excellently. It is near lots of excellent restaurants too.
  6. Common knowledge - Jordon Palmer is/was his off season QB coach and it is known that Josh has spent less time with him, especially this past off-season. Josh himself has said that Joe Burrow outworks all of them in the training sessions with Palmer, and Burrow is the most intense guy he has worked with. Because you did not know this does not mean that others that do know it are wrong, as your sarcasm implies. Dorsey was Josh's choice to replace Daboll. He likes him. You can argue that Dorsey did not hold Josh accountable in the way that Daboll did - that is the scuttle butt anyway. The numbers say Josh was much better under Daboll - maybe it was because the entire offense was better? Mostly one depends the other? Next OC selection, perhaps they should not let the players pick their coaches? McD is proving to be a below average game day coach - his use of timeouts, his game day adjustments, his decisions on challenges, his decisions on punt or go, the 13 seconds debacle, etc. McD is building a resume of questionable game day decisions that require second guessing. I do not blame McD for wanting a running game. Anything you do for too long in the NFL gets figured out. There is no crime is having a running game to augment a passing game, especially when you play in poor weather. I am not "blaming the best players", not even blaming any one thing, but when you look at the play calling versus the execution there is so much poor execution by the offense, including Allen, to say it is all bad play calling. It is on both. The Bills offense is stale. Teams know this offense and they know how to slow down Allen. Missed throws, missed blocks, dropped passes, bad turnovers, missed reads, careless penalties - they happen every week at high frequency. A change was needed - that is why Dorsey is gone. But keep in mind that Allen just threw the exact same interception, into the exact same coverage, two weeks in a row. When was the last time Allen hit a deep ball? Some of the problem is the players, and some of it is the "best players". Hopefully replacing Dorsey wakes up the players and improves things. The interim OC will be running the same system, you can't change the system during the season.
  7. In part I think there is some merit here. His last 2 off-seasons have been less football work and more golf and celebrity hob nobbing.
  8. Why all the negative stuff and sarcasm? The puck has not even dropped yet. We got Tuch and Benson back. Comrie is back. Sure Tage is out, but maybe Cozens or Skinner or even VO starts scoring. We are on the road were we play better. I guarantee that if we win the next 2 or 3 the tone around here changes.
  9. Sometimes. The TNT National crew loves to talk everything but the play by play. Wayne Gretzky is a bore in between periods. Color and hockey analysis is something he is not good at. Boucher, Bisonette, Buccicross - none are very good. Bucci might be the best of that sorry lot. Bring back Doc and Panger. Panger is a big loss IMO. Translate: Sabres 4 Jets 2 Benson gets his 1st and it the GWG.
  10. It actually begins with Tenor Joe Byron, who along with organist Norm Wullen, gave us solid and straight forward anthem singing for decades. This is an early version of Oh Canada, lots of "standing on guard" and some of todays lyrics are missing.
  11. Adams doesn't trade them or block them so far. If he cant do the deal a big deal in the off season, imagine him trying now. He has said numerous times that teams ask for too much, which they really would at this time. He also has been thwarted by the NMC. So I think a trade just before the deadline is more likely. Lets hope we are adding at that time.
  12. Bills, Sabres, Yankees (AL), Cardinals (NL) ... basketball - with Braves I lost touch of the NBA - I catch a little college hoops here and there. If my teams are not playing then I watch it for enjoyment and to see the best players do their thing. I don't really hate teams - Ok, I admit hate the Pats*, the Dolphins, and the Leaves.
  13. We have a few very young hot shots in Kulich and Rosen. We have a few possibilities down the road with some rawer players in Rochester. We have tried Murray, he is a big guy, steady but he looks slow in the NHL. Biro and Rousek have had looks.
  14. If a professional sporting event is a corporate event then no. Part of our culture is, or perhaps was, being patriotic and taking a moment to be thankful for what we have when in a large assembly. I would miss it. I just don't see any problem with it.
  15. I would hardly call that top 6 pretty fine. Happy to see Tuch back though and I hope Benson can do something to help us.
  16. True too. But Denver played a defensive game designed to stop Allen's big play ability, make him be a patient QB, and hope that they could get a few turnovers - just like everybody does now. It should have been our plan to run enough make them change defenses and bring the safeties up, and then throw on then. We took the ball first which is rare, only to pass and then fumble deep in our territory. We look like a poorly coached team as evidence by turnovers, penalties, and mostly be letting the opponent dictate their game to us.
  17. I have not answered the OP yet. Levi - I might give Levi another game or two, we kind of have to with Comrie still out. If Levi struggles, which he most likely will, then he needs to go down to Rochester for awhile, play a lot, and rebuild his confidence and sharpen his game. No doubt that Adams and DG can talk to him and keep his head on straight. No shame in that either. Any normal team would already have him in their minor league system right now anyway. Forwards - I wanted a few veteran additions, especially when Quinn went down. Really need a two way center that can play NHL hockey, and a tough winger to help with the inevitable nasty stuff. Can't have Cozens and Tuch doing that. We just don't have the right diversity of skills at forward. Power play - Last year it was deadly for awhile, teams figured it out and now they have regressed even further. No one really knows who coaches this unit either, at least I don't. Not sure they are teetering on oblivion, see how they react without Tage. Maybe someone steps up. They just need to stay at .500 until the injuries subside. I do not blame Granato for the injuries or the glaring roster weaknesses, but he has not had them ready to play very often - they have played maybe 2 really good games. It looks like they cannot score often enough when they try to play a defensive system. I will never understand why he is taking 3 years to put in a system that includes team defense. Some of his problems are injuries and the fact that the bottom 6 is playing much worse this year. Laviolette installed his system in one off season. Hmmm, what an idea! Right now the Rangers are on a 10 game streak without a loss. They have a +16 scoring diff. Good thing Mike Peca is there learning from a Cup winner. Granato gets evaluated on Jan 1. Adams is the guy that is most responsible for the current situation.
  18. Correct on the bold. When Ulmark left you really could sense that. Eichel wanted out, Reinhart and Montour had their talks with Adams and they preferred to leave as well. They were not living through another rebuild in Buffalo. Why would Tage, Dahlin, and Tuch, feel any different? I like Gallant. We could use him. He was a pain in the ass to play against and as a coach he has a history of run-ins with management. Many NHL coaches do. They know their shelf life is short so they want things their way. I think he would relate to our players and get them going. Even if if he lasts 3 years, his proven track record is enough to help us get to the next level, a playoff team that looks and acts like a playoff team. Why is that so hard?
  19. True, because Denver stayed in their stop the pass defense. You have to run, it cannot all be Allen. Team have figured the Bills out - that is the flaw in the analysis - the same thing never works for very long.
  20. When we were kids we watched Sunday night Bills highlights on channels 2, 4 and 7. I used to switch through them all. Then of course there was "halftime highlights" on MNF were you got to see the league highlights from Howard Cosell. That was a thrill and a treat. Later ESPN came along and that started the snowball down the mountain of sports coverage excessiveness. Now they have sports gambling channels and websites - that cannot be good for the sport.
  21. Probably not. This coach is the management. He reports directly to TP. He does not report to Beane. I cannot see a player going to TP about their coach, even Allen would not do that. This is an organizational problem. Terry has to fire McD himself and he better first sell it Beane if he wants Beane to stay. Assuming that happens, TP should let Beane hire the next coach and have that coach should report to Beane. No one overcomplicates an organization like Terry Pegula.
