  1. If we do acquire EP I suspect he will have one good season at the most, and then he turns back into the player that he is right now. I do not want him. He is not going to help us become a winning and hard working team. That is not him. He stagnated on Vancouver where they have much higher expectations than the Pegula Sabres. Let’s not rebuild with players that need rehab (see Lehner, Kane and Bogo), it won’t work.
  2. What else do the Sabres faithful want to hear about (or click on)? There are other stories but all they do is highlight what we know. That the fan base is dwindling, no one wants to play for or work for the Sabres, and that the franchise is dying.
  3. Third from the bottom. They aren’t even good enough to tank. They should just play it out.
  4. 7 seven years based on 57 games. Way to go Kevyn.
  5. I thought the goalie pushed it in after it hit Kulich’s foot.
  6. He is one of the very few positives in this season so far.
  7. Stan Getz was a fabulous sax player and a true pioneer in American jazz music. His ability to blend musically with the best in Bosa Nova was magical, as if he was doing it forever. An added plus. The recording engineers were also spectacular so the sound quality is excellent, it was recorded in 1963.
  8. Good day Teammates. I’ll catch the 3rd period. Go Sabres!
  9. Date day with the wife. I’ll be missing this one.
  10. Avs acting like they want another Cup now. They are not waiting for 20 years old in their pipeline, they are acquiring players that are blockers. Wait! I don't understand?
  11. Rumors say he was trying to get Necas, but the player said no. That would have been an excellent move. Prior to that he was after Pesce, another player that would have helped a lot. I am not excusing his performance. Bottom line is that he fails to deliver. Unfortunately, he has made the culture worse in his five years, not better. If I owned the team I would bring in a guy that is respected around the league. Pay him what it takes to fix this mess. That is first step to showing other players, player agents, and other GMs that this team is serious.
  12. But he didn't starve. The fan base is starving and will die of malnutrition. He made thousands, then hundreds of thousands, then millions, then hundreds of millions, then billions.
  13. Sure I get that. But they were not even going in a good direction with all three, which is why ROR said what he said. We covered this, the tear down was too far and the GM apparently knew nothing about setting a winning culture or roster chemistry. I know Botterill traded ROR, and Adams traded the other two several years later, and I know why. When you speak out against the Emperor or his kingdom then you get to go. We have not had a GM that is worth a dam since Regier.
  14. When Bosa Nova and American Jazz first came together, this is the record. One of the classic recordings of its time, this was an early introduction to Brazilian music and their top artists to North America. This is my collectible first pressing on Verve Records. I was lucky to find this in such pristine condition. The sound quality is as amazing as the performance. If you have a streaming service they will probably have it in their library.
  15. Mostly true although Eichel, Reinhart, ROR and others have played at a much higher level after they left. They have the stats and the hardware to show it. All three in Buffalo at once and they did little to elevate the team when they were here. Which is why a frustrated ROR said “losing is acceptable here”, he didn’t like it and he wasn’t wrong. There is a list of players that were good and not given a shot like Zadarov and Compher were traded for ROR so I won’t count them but players like Braydon McNabb and Hagel are examples of GM changes that disrupt development of the roster.
  16. I was at that game. One of the best ever Sabres games played in the Aud. Top 3 for sure. Schoeny was around 19-20 at the time. Just a crazy rookie that was insane to watch. Punch brought in the rugged and savvy veteran Tim Horton to pair with him and help teach him the ropes. Look at the box score and read the names. https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxscores/197212130BUF.html It took Punch 3 years to build a solid and sustainable playoff team with the right combination of veterans and youth. Sure, the game is much different now but it just doesn't have to be like this, this bad for this long, with three rookie GMs running things into the ground.
  17. It seems more plausible that trading Dahlin will enhance his career (the Cups are hard to predict), and still not result in a trade that helps turn the franchise around. Cases in point: An injured Eichel got us Tuch, Krebs, Östlund, and Greenway (via trade of a #2 pick). Would you make that trade again? Reinhart got us Levi and Kulich. Would you make that trade again? ROR got us Tage Thompson, Ryan Johnson, and a big pile of veteran poop (Berglund, Sobotka, and a pick that was flipped for Colin Miller). Would you make that trade again? What if Dahlin loses his love for the game? Here is direct copy of ROR's big crime against Terry Pegula's version of hockey heaven. As he and his fellow Sabres teammates cleaned out their lockers, he was quoted saying: “We’re stuck in this mindset of just being OK with losing. I feel it, too. I think it’s really crept into myself. Over the course of the year, I’ve lost myself a lot, where it’s just kind of get through, just being OK with just not making a mistake. That’s not winning hockey at all, and it’s crept into all of our games. It’s disappointing. It’s sad. I feel throughout the year I’ve lost the love of the game multiple times.” (from ‘Sabres’ Ryan O’Reilly says he lost love of game, lacked mental toughness,’ The Buffalo News, Apr 9, 2018)
  18. The Duffer. I don’t get to see greatness on EPSN- Bring back Robey
  19. Oh for six on the power play. They give up an easy goal with 6 on 4.
