Yes, this caught my attention. I got the impression that some of them thought they were gonna win, without earning it. This is were the veteran leaders must be the right ones.

I was happy to hear him say this. He did not have a playoff roster. He and Granato futzed around with prospects for too long, and the NHL roster was not set soon enough and not ready to go.

This is the way the franchise started and was originally viewed. In my opinion Buffalo is a nicer city today, with more going on, then it was in 1970. Buffalo is not the problem. Long winters - not the problem. Terry just needs to get the right people in the right spots and then step away and support them. It can be brought back.

I think Granato did his best. He made an impact for awhile and helped some of the players get to a higher level. He could have won more games if his GM did a better job with just the goaltending alone. Bottom line to me is he does not have an NHL system and the ability to adjust on game day.

It is way past time for "experienced with track record". Way past that time.

I have a problem with him getting an interview given the number of coaches out there with NHL experience. I don't want them going with someone the know, like, etc. Bring in a change agent and take the next step. Don't know about that. A precedent where, in Buffalo?

Great guys and good coaches get fired. They all get fired.

I believe that Terry is trying to change his image as impatient. That, plus the new contract most likely means Donny will stay. I agree with @LGR4GM in that Adams thinks long and hard before making a move. You don’t fire a coach without knowing you have a good pool of candidates. Has Adams been building a list and making contacts? I doubt it. Who is willing to come to Buffalo applies to coaches too. Most likely scenario is DG gets another year. If he fails he gets fired during the season, and we finish with Ellis/Appert to get to 14. After that a real coaching search.
