We outplayed them for the entire game right up to the 5 minute major. We actually showed very little character by folding under adversity and giving up two quick goals within 14 seconds during that 5 minute stretch. We came back because we have better players. We lost because we didn’t convert on the PP and they did.

Pegula is not spending big money on this team. If he did, he would most likely continue to hire the wrong people anyway. He tried spending money, he acted like it was that easy. He said stupid things publicly. It isn’t that easy Terry. Money is not the issue. NHL Hockey is a fraternity that Terry still does not belong in. He probably knows that. He blew the first 5 years so fully and completely that he cannot attract the right people to run and lead this team. He is hoping that smart young hungry guys, like Boterill or Adams, work out. That is all he has. The Sabres were started by Seymour Knox, a good man and a man of class and sophistication, traits that enabled him to hire Imlach and then Bowman. He stayed out of Hockey Ops and he let real proven GMs give us credibility within the league. Terry is much richer and maybe even smarter, but he is not a fit in the hockey world. He just isn’t. Sell this team to a viable Buffalo interest. Take the huge profit while you can Terry. Please.

Terry just extended him for finishing “only” 1 win out of the playoffs.

Normally I would roll my eyes at this type of comment, but there is a body of work that supports he is not an NHL coach and has no business running the PP. The players on the PP are good enough to play shinny style hockey and still score at a higher percentage than they do under Ellis.

KA has the job because he will do what he is told. True experienced Hockey GMs, or VPs of Hockey Ops, are going to say and do things Terry does not like. The PP is run by Matty Ellis. Nuff said. Granato looks like he peaked at this level. Excellent player development guy. Cannot install and teach the systems needed to win in the NHL. Despite all the talent on this team, hockey is a team game, and other teams know how to stop or contain whatever DG is teaching. Botton line is it looks like we peaked already with this GM and coach.

Mitts had two shots in a row, both times he looks for a pass, no one there. The second shot, he got his own rebound. It looked like he played without wingers on that shift.

The point we earned is not a positive either. Another win streak not started, and we lost a point to the team directly ahead of us. At home. No excuses.

We will never know. All we know is Buffalo had a late PP and still lost.

Well. Another home loss. Another point lost to the Habs. Another night of Buffalo fans waking out of The Morgue with the visitors happy. This one should have never been an overtime game.

Skinner was lazy on getting puck possession on the delayed penalty. Little things like that are a problem with this team.
