  1. Good evening teammates, Punch checking in. Just saw Kyle get one. Keep it going Sabres. MUSCLE WEIGHT
  2. Yup. I have been riding him a bit this season, but I do think he did play solid in large parts of the Bruins and Habs games. He just seems a bit lazy this year, maybe careless is a better word for it. Just stop throwing the puck away Muel. Yotes have a few good sized players we can use him is he is healthy and willing to move some people.
  3. When we threw an incomplete pass right before the 2 min warning I started to cringe. After the offsides call I was surprised we stopped them on 3 straight plays. But we did and we won fair and square.
  4. So you never said anything regrettable? Grow up.
  5. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/sean-mcdermott-s-victory-speech-following-bills-thrilling-week-14-win-over-kansa McDermott post game speech to team, followed by Beane. A Terry Pegula sighting in the locker room. I wonder if he took his Lear Jet from KC to Buffalo to catch the Sabres tonight?
  6. He should be fined and told to shut up. That game was not about the refs until he made it that way. The Bills got screwed in Philadelphia and they never publicly complained about it. Lots of people in the news commented on the one sided officiating and the fortunate calls/non-calls in Philly's favor.
  7. Not surprised by this list. Why not add Power too? Seems to be near consensus here that he is bad. Many posters calling for him to sit or even go to Rochester. Sometimes they are.
  8. I am not going there. We deserved to lose, and it is long over. All I did was mention the death of Wycheck and the irony of another Bills game that has a controversial play with a lateral included. Of course this time there was no controversy unless you are KC and feel that the rules of the game go not apply to you.
  9. Pretty sad if this is true. Who is he better than?
  10. Coyotes have some young talent. If the season ended today they make the playoffs. They have had two playoff appearances since the Sabres drought started. Tonight will be a challenge.
  11. The ball was caught forward from where the pass was initiated. I know that is not the final determination, but it is all a human person can reliably tell in real time. The call on the field that was made in real time was wrong. All the fancy camera angles and concocted theories on the angle of arm, the trajectory, the release point , etc could not have been seen by any officials in real time. Even during the review, none of those guys could figure it out or dared to overturn it, so the call on the field stands. The play counted because the refs on the field let it go, because they didn’t know. Afterwards there was much analysis, much of it indicates it’s a forward pass. I don’t have Bills colored glasses. The Bills deserved to lose. They didn’t cover a simple kick.
  12. Well when a Sabres player gets hit like that I’ll expect you to be consistent on this. There was no injury, they reviewed it and they went the wrong way with the call. Probably because they missed a call on E Kane the night before when the player was actually hurt. The Habs player was out a few shifts later. No reason for a game misconduct, or even 5 minutes. As I am saying over and over, the Hab was more at fault, send him back to Bantams.
  13. Yes Teammates, there is always tomorrow.
  14. Add that Frank Wycheck died on Sunday. He was the guy who threw the famous (infamous to Buffalo) Home Run Throwback lateral on the kickoff of the Bills v Titans game. Many reviews and replays have been analyzed of this play, which looks like a forward lateral and illegal.
  15. McD gets a W. He was under intense pressure this week, he talked about getting great support from the community in the post game interview. Seems genuine to me.
  16. We have lost so many games by bizarre factors that it is nice to see the Bills make a few plays and get a few calls in crunch time. Lets not forget, KC had what 3 or 4 more plays after the penalty and plenty of time They blew it and our defense held up. Add up all the bad calls on each side today, the Chiefs have nothing to complain about. Their guy was a mile offside, and that is a penalty, despite what Andy Red and Mahommes want you to believe. They cant get every call every week. They should both be fined for criticizing the officials in the post game. The came off like two entitled cry babies.
  17. Correct. And you make them blow at least 1 timeout of their two remaining. Taking as much time off the clock is just as important as scoring, especially when we had to settle for 3. @JoeSchmoe, running does not mean you are not going for a first down. We gave Mahommes at least 30 more seconds by not doing this.
  18. If I exaggerate the time of possession, or the time before the check, it actually hurts my case. It was a standard 2 minutes for boarding. And only because the Montreal player was slow and unaware. Checking him within the rules is impossible when he turns his back and stands square to the boards, as opposed to taking an angle to the puck. No one was hurt. A game misconduct was called for nothing. The 5 minutes changed the flow of the game. It’s on the film.
  19. Fair comments @JohnC, I will of course watch and wait for Adams plan to payoff. But that won’t change the damage that’s been done. I am not fixated on the owner, but I am frustrated by the past off season. I know, and we all know, that the constraints on Adams are both dictated from TP, and/or are a result of the past performance of the this organization under TP. 🧻 Our roster and pipeline is not yet robustly stacked. We still are currently developing 2 goalies without having a proven #1 on the roster. It’s improving for sure, but we could not even adequately replace Girgensons with a Rochester player, hence the trade for Robinson. One thing that has gone wrong, no fault to anyone, is injuries and our pipeline is still too young to help us overcome them.
  20. I clearly said, and I firmly believe that Adams is operating under constraints. The constraints force Adams to do slow rebuild and use cap money ONLY for players that we draft, develop, indoctrinate, and say they want to be here". If this works - looks like the timeline is in the next 3 to 6 years - then ok. But that is the reality we are in right now. The positive side is it could work and we appear to be close. The negative side is it could fail and burn out our current Core, and drive yet another rebuild. The reality looks from the outside like Adams cannot do what Yzerman is doing because Detroit is a fantastic destination for hockey and Buffalo is not. Don't believe me? Look at Patrick Kane. Don't believe Kane? Then look at the off season acquisitions and trades. Why is Buffalo a bad hockey destination when it has a fan base that watches hockey on TV at the highest rate in the US, even when its team is not playing and has been out of contention for 12 years? Again, I submit that answer is Terry Pegula. Now please show me were I said these words that you wrote: "everything we talk about here is meaningless and we should just shut the board down and hang a banner that says: "There is no point in talking about it until we have a new owner"." You won't find anything like that from me. You can be a Pegula apologist, that is fine, we do need a owner that will keep the team here. You might be happy just to exist and have a team, that is fine if that is your thing. But please do not create a narrative and then say I suggested it. I am on record here, I really do believe that Terry is a terrible NHL owner. Just by his own W/L record he is the worst one ever. Go to games in Buffalo, it is almost always a underwhelming experience. He can change this. He just needs to hire some good people and get out of their way. Or, maybe Adams pulls this out in the next few years. He might be looking for a coach soon. Let see what he does. In addition - I am now very worried for the Bills. The media frenzy on McDermott is picking up and the pressure on him is sky high. If Terry fires him he will most assuredly want to "help" Beane select the next coach. Or we could lose Beane too. I fear losing Beane more than anything Adams can do between now and the end of the season.
  21. Please find where I said the bold so I can recant that because I sure do not want to shut down the forum. How much more proof you need as to why Boterill left. He flat out told us he would not work under the EEE plan. Rivet just told us that Bots did not want to offer that big contract to Skinner. I am not a huge Boterill fan either, he hired Krueger (or so we think he did). You keep wondering why we are not making any significant moves, some of us know there are 2 reasons: He cannot get the players we really need to come here via trade or free agency. He is under constraints from his boss. Adams is basically bringing a knife to a gunfight.
  22. Do you think Boterill pulled the plug on improving the team? I don’t. Do you think Adams has been given full throttle to make this team a playoff team? I don’t. The only thing good about Adams being a young first time GM is that he might stay and work in that environment when others won’t. Boterill left on his own accord, because he had enough help from above, and got a job as an Assistant GM, more commensurate with his abilities at that point. Like former Sabres players, I am sure former coaches and FO execs have lots interesting stories to share.
  23. You would think they would try something different, hire some help, just about anything to show someone is actively working this.
  24. Come on man. He practically stopped before he hit him and #50 is allowed to hit the man with the puck. The Hab did everything wrong. Everything you teach a kid about playing in a checking league this guy violated. On top of that the guy froze and just stopped playing. You don’t posses the puck for several seconds on the boards, then turn your back on the forecheck. You take an angle to the puck and keep moving. The review should have overturned the initial 5 minutes called, you could see no intent to injure, you see the hockey stop. Instead they made it a game misconduct. The guy wasn’t even injured Trash call. Typical. Of course the Sabres being weak minded gave up 2 quickies. No doubt that the refs changed the entire flow of the game. No he did not
