  1. A lot of our best players were out on the ice for the late goal. Trailing after one, AGAIN! Rob and Dan putting on a happy face about almost goals. Same as it ever was.
  2. Good evening Teammates, Punch checking. Let’s win a home game and stay out of the Eastern Conference cellar. Muscle Weight
  3. CBJ is the only team in the conference that does not have games in hand with Buffalo. Reality is we are probably 11-12 games behind when you factor games in hand.
  4. I agree. Stress can really do a number and create other physical ailments. After the Columbus game, and again after the Leaves game, he did not look good. Of course he may be realizing himself that his messages are being ignored. It happens all the time in the NHL. I hope he is ok and its just a flu type thing. Good guy, and doing his best. Adams gave him a knife and sent him to a gun fight. As for Appert, this is telling. A new face, a new voice. Not Matty or one of the others that they already do not listen to.
  5. For the most part true, the Bills coaching staff is far from the envy of the league either but they are for the most part capable. Daboll and Schen went to the NYG. The Bills have not stood pat on their coaching staff, they lost a good WR coach, and have shuffled DL and OL coaches, ST coaches, etc. Leslie Frazier remained retired. Dorsey will land a job, probably not as an OC. Only Mike Peca was poached by Laviolette.
  6. Did this comment touch a nerve? Don't change, we need this, along with a good dose of your contrarian thinking. Most of us are so desperate for anything good that happens, however fleeting it turns out to be, that we lose sight of the real situation. Your skepticism is often the reality.
  7. It feels like this ^
  8. The “show me” part is bringing in a real coach. A real NHL coach will want some say in the roster and will want to move things along faster because a real coach knows his job is almost always on the line. RB’A is not leaving Raleigh for Buffalo. I can’t see it.
  9. Seven years is about the time our defense and our goalies will be in their primes, and our 3rd wave of untouchable forward prospects will be ready too. Good timing!
  10. These are the kind of teams we have trouble with. All of those teams will play a heavy game and try to slow us down. If we fall behind in the first period, as is the norm, and we will struggle to beat a neutral zone trap. We will get desperate and eventually give up too many odd man rushes. I've seen this movie before.
  11. I think you owe it to the rest of use to research this. Start with the Oakland Seals and any other franchise that Charlie Finely owned.
  12. Jost is blocking Nadeau.
  13. How many more years before he sees that he made it worse?
  14. I think a conditional 8th, 6 rolls of black tape, 6 rolls of white tape, and a bag of pucks.
  15. Promote Adams? He is already running hockey ops. Promote him and then he gets a big raise. For what ? Bring in a new GM and watch Karmanos scurry out the door? Nope We need an NHL coach. Ideally this coach will work with Adams and have some say and control of the roster. Berube and Gallant are there. Not sure either would come here though. Gallant has been outside looking in for awhile. Berube will be heavily sought after.
  16. It not the same as giving your players some down time on a road trip to get out, or rest, or whatever. Field trips are for youth hockey kids in a travel tournament.
  17. Imagine serving Salami after a few heart attacks. They were trying to get rid of me I think.
  18. Sending R Johnson down looks like a way to satisfy further reshuffling. If he is back by the CBJ game then it’s no big deal. They have over $5million on contract in Rochester with Jost, Bryson, Stillman. Adams seems to struggle with the pro personnel side. His drafting has been good, even very good so far. But nearly all the pro vets he acquired are Jags. Either he doesn’t know talent (I think he does), or he really is serious about “blockers”. If you make it too easy for a prospect to jump from AHL/Jr A/NCAA are you doing them, and the team, any favors? I fear that next season we might bring in a few more rookies and not any substantial vet help yet again.
  19. I heard about the Nashville story from a reliable source. Pulling rank is not leadership. It works in the Army, not in business. The Briere story and the “no meddling” story is new to me, it at least gives me a glimmer of hope that they are looking at qualified people. Terry let his unqualified wife run his teams, a huge mistake. Soon the kids will take over. Why not just hire good and highly respected people who worked their way up the ranks, then sit back and enjoy? That is what Knox did.
  20. It is how it happened. The Miller trade was the last straw and Pat was not on board. I don’t think Pat was the right guy anyway, he brought in Murray and Nolan, both uninspiring choices. Terry had all his Pittsburgh and Pennie’s State strap-hangers mucking things up. The players under Golisano wanted out because he would not spend money. Hence, the Briere and Drury debacle which ruined a very good team.
  21. The franchise was stale when Pegula got there. He actually made things a bit worse with his false bravado about winning Stanley Cups. Firing Ruff/Regier needed to happen but not without a real VP of Hockey Ops in the wings. The whole Patty LaFontaine thing was a disaster. Including the bloated organization that ran the poorest executed tank in hockey history. I will continue to believe that Pegula got a bit lucky with the Bills. The NFL literally hands you a list of top candidates of coaching and FO execs. If you can conduct an open and honest interview, and have the correct criteria for selection, you should find several qualified people to choose from. That was how he first met Coach McDermott, only he listened to Russ Brandon and hired Rex Ryan instead.
