Is There A Case For Being Patient? "Patience" is not a dirty word
Pimlach replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
We already have had a German-Canadian soccer coach from Austria, coaching an NHL team located in the US. Why not start a series about an American football coach, coaching a soccer team in the UK? Ok, that was done once. Lets trade our hockey owner for a UK Football owner. -
They lost on purpose to draft Mario. They said it, and it happened, and everyone knew it. This was pre lottery, and it had a stink all over it. Don't call it a tank if you don't want to, but that was the first ever "lose on purpose" that I had ever seen or heard about publicly. They still stunk for about 4 more years, and then Jagr fell to them in 1990 in the 5 spot. He was taken after such stalwarts as Owen Nolan, Petr Nedved, Keith Primueax and Mike Ricci. Talk about luck, and it didn't end there. For Crosby, they lucked out in goofy post lock out lottery when they had the same number of balls as Buffalo. The four bottom teams had 3 balls each - Pitts, Buff, CBJ, and NYR. Pittsburgh picked first (Crosby) and Buffalo fell to lucky 13th (Zagrapan - never played a game in the NHL). They got Malkin 2OA the year prior. I really hate the Pens almost as much as the Leaves.

Then I suppose I should post more. -

You are waxing nostalgic for the good old days when the no playoff streak was 10 years or less. -
Actually Kulich is bigger than I first quoted. He is up to 6β1β 185 lbs. And he looks pretty stout physically at only 19. Certainly big enough.

The Elephant In the Sabres' Room: Fixing the Power Play

Indeed. One data point is not a trend. Lets see the PP keep going like that for a few games. If we are ever going to have a winning streak we need the first line to be scoring. It's time for them to get hot.
