  1. TNT. That’s what I’m talking about.
  2. The Sabres played a strong 19 minutes, then almost blew it in the final minute. Other than the bad penalty and the worse PK, the Sabres are dominating. More traffic in front is needed.
  3. The lower bowl is always empty unless there is a lot of visiting fans in town.
  4. UPL screened. EJ missed the block. No forward to be found, left Duschene alone. Fall behind again.
  5. Good evening Teammates , Punch checking in. Ok, let’s play some hockey. A lots been said in the past week. Let’s see what they have. Muscle Weight.
  6. Which is EXACTLY why I am watching Tage, Tuch, Cozens, Dahlin and Power very closely. I want to see better play, more accountability, and more leadership for the remainder of the season. Why did they regress? Injuries? They could not string 3 career years in a row? Bad start right from camp? Bad luck? All of the above? I don't expect them to make the playoffs. I just want to see if these core guys really give a dam.
  7. There is a lot of frustration. The fans hate losing more than the owner, the FO, the coaches, and the players. The fans have been invested for many decades. We need you to help lead the GDT's back to their former glory.
  8. It matters for the players. The problem with this season is Adams, Adams, Adams, and Adams. Adams did not get a goalie, again. Adams did not improve the defense nearly enough because he did not address the top 4, again. Adams did nothing to improve the forwards, which is why an 18 year old 170 pound winger makes the team and has a better 2-way game than the majority of the forwards that were already here. Adams also stayed with a sub standard NHL coaching staff after watching his 2nd consecutive AHL assistant coach leave for a position on a contending NHL team. The buck stops with Adams.
  9. I don't boo @Taro T. Your response was actually much worse than Taro's, you want to give three #1 pieces for another 20 year old prospect that cannot crack Columbus line up and cannot appreciate that they are helping him by playing him in the AHL right now. Look at Owen Power struggle. Remember when Dahlin struggled in the same way? Do we need to bring in another guy that is over his head? I WANT TO WIN HOCKEY GAMES RIGHT NOW! I absolutely disagree with trading our prospects and picks for more prospects. IF ANYONE ELSE GIVES A DAMM ABOUT THE FAN BASE AND THE CURRENT CORE TEAM THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND. WHEN ARE WE EVER GOING TO TRY TO IMPROVE?
  10. Yes, his attitude of entitlement surprises me and I don't care for it. If I am trading prospects or picks then I want an proven NHL player in his prime that fills a desperate need, not another prospect. Adams did ok with Clifton but Clifton is a 3rd pair defender. This teams needs to stop collecting 3rd pair defenders (Lybushkin, Stillman, Clague, Erik Johnson, and Bryson) and aim much, much higher.
  11. Well I am going to evaluate the whole season, it matters to me. I want to see better play from Tage, Tuch, Dahlin, Cozens and Power. That is our Core right now. They don't get points for finishing strong but at least we hope to see a measure of character. The goal is still playoffs. If they miss they failed.
  12. The trade deadline is approaching. You will see teams trading soon as they get ready for playoffs, other teams that are out of it will be selling to clear out players they won't keep next year. Tanev's name comes up, so do others. It is Kevyn Adams job to improve the team. We can wait years and years for the young players to mature, but by then the current core players that are already mature will be gone or will be burned out. Defenseman take longer which is why I want to add a vet in his prime to the young guys we have.
  13. This guy is a head case right now. He is 20 and complaining about playing in the AHL. Who does he think he is? Why do we need another 20 year old defenseman right now? Especially an entitled one? We already have Dahlin, Power and Muel all getting paid, plus R Johnson is coming along. Trading for Jiricek is going to mean spending and inordinate amount of $$ on another young defender someday. If we want to win more games then we really need a solid veteran in his prime, 28-30 years old, shoots from RH, and is a big, mean, stay at home type of defenseman. We should trade a prospect and pick for that. We need someone to stabilize things on the backline right now.
  14. I am ready for hockey. Tonight, and the rest of the season, might tell us a something about the maturity of the team and who the leaders really are. Long layoff, two key players out. Will they show up and play good hockey at home? The fans need a lift with the Bills season finished. For any other team, this coaching staff would be coaching for their jobs. Read the BN article about Benson filling in for Quinn. That is a lot to put on an 18 year old. {shakes head, decides not to rant, and presses submit reply button}
  15. The overall defensive play is bad and its in a large part the forwards and the "system". Granato said he didn't "teach defense" the first two years and that he would put that in this year. That is just bizarre. Maybe hockey has changed but I never heard of this before. So adding defense this off season helped to kill our scoring and the team defense is still not good. My confidence in this coaching staff is gone. The Blues hired Weber, the Rangers hired Peca, both from our AHL team and both are doing well. Meanwhile Granato plods along with his same guys. And Granato had his contract extended before the season - Ugh.
  16. You can't do that when you see that Diggs had 2X the targets. Diggs did not get it done, especially in the KC game. Cap wise we have to keep him another year so hopefully his performance was injury related. We need to bring in some better WRs.
  17. I do miss the games. I am a die hard fan. I want to see them play better hockey to close out the season. I want to see the players that have disappointed so far - Tage, Tuch, Cozens, Dahlin, and Power - all wake up and play better to end the season. However, my expectation is that they do not make a serious run and that they continue to disappoint.
  18. I can see the logic but its pretty sad. Quinn out, and we have Tage and Skinner on he 3rd line (minutes wise) with KO. So happy that we have that pipeline of Olofsson and Robinson ready to deploy.
  19. The paid him after 54 NHL games. Sure, he looked good but they sure do gamble on their home grown players. His contract isn’t terrible, the Owen Power contract is much more questionable, especially given they didn’t have to do it.
  20. This is a terrible take - The Rochester arena is holding our prospects back. Your the only one that thinks this though.
  21. Who the F is "Samelsson"? Spelling used to be important. Even the PR/Communication department is crap.
  22. Really? I mean I get that he is our only prospect in the AHL now that Ryan Johnson is up, but man this seems rushed. I suspect we get more Bryson - or maybe Clague/Stillman.
  23. Agree. We are younger on average this year than we were last year. It could happen again next year as well.
  24. John, I agree with quite a bit of this. Blowing it up again is drastic and making huge changes is risky. My one big issue is the coaching staff. I dont see any indication that this coaching staff is up to the NHL level. The team is almost always not ready to play at game time. First period stats tell the story. Adjustments are lacking, the power play being the biggest example of a huge failure with no answers. Another abysmal home record haunts the team and its relationship with the fans. The roster is still way too young and lacks the leadership and accountability to even string 3 good games together. I think DG has reached his max level, and if I owned this team I would ask Adam’s to start looking at everyone and everything to finally take the next to step.
  25. The coaching change was huge. The 2nd bullet, moving out an old star was needed to change the room dynamics and shake things up. The 3rd bullet was to bring the kind of depth guys that the coach wanted/trusts. 4th bullet point is good luck. Pegula and Adams should really be talking to an NHL Veteran coaches about the HC job, and about helping to reshape the roster. I would love to know what Berube or Gallant would offer up to help make this roster better. However, I just don’t see Adams moving on from DG or making big roster moves. He thinks his draft picks will all evolve together into a dynasty.
