  1. I don't mind Zemgus being moved for the right return but he should eventually be replaced by a player that will do the heavy lifting typically asked of a player in a 4th line role. I don't want to see Rosen, or some other fancy prospect, thrust into a 4th line role just to give Adams prospects a tryout. It is time to start winning hockey games. They did this with Krebs. Put him in a 4th line role and now they are looking at him at 3C, which actually makes some sense. Krebs at least tried very hard in that role, even dropped the gloves a few times (which was silly), but how many games did we blow by not having a inexpensive but solid 4th line center that can shut down an opponent, win draws, and kill penalties?
  2. I used to think it was a coincidence and probably the bi-product of a young team playing for a rebuilding organization that has had no success in over a decade. Last year I went along with the coaches explanation "young and nervous, want to do good for the fans, playing tight" which were all just excuses. This year the expectations were to win more and while the pressure is the same - they probably feel it even more. I don't buy into the "feel the hate" and "toxic environment" social media messaging. Those are todays fancy words, pushed by irresponsible media. I can sense when I am there that the fans have a feeling of impending doom, such as "what will go wrong tonight?". It used to be goaltending, but now the slow and lazy starts are the problem. Just look at the first, second and third period scoring stats. They wake up in the 3rd and its usually too little too late. Now because of this booing situation you have to throw in another factor, the players are not feeling good at home and pressing even more. There is a massive lack of the right leadership behind the reasons that the team feels hurt. We just saw evidence of it with the latest story - a secret senior player talking to the media about hurt feelings. The young players should be told to just forget it, shake it off, it happens everywhere, and their focus should be on fixing their game. That is it, over. Everyone can roll their eyes, shake their heads, call me a boomer or whatever but the ONLY ones that can fix it are the Sabres themselves. Better preparation and focus. Better leadership to hold everyone accountable. More hard work and less "woe is me". Maybe someone on the staff should actually look at each players routines on the road and at home and try to find something that might help them? Instead Donnie give us his psychology 101 lessons. One more thing, they should be fining any player Sabre that purposely throws or break their stick, or shows any other such display of Bantam level hockey while in public. They can give that money to charity. This happens more with this team than I have seen in a lifetime.
  3. Agree 100% The announcer last night says the Sabres are being heavily scouted and Girgensons is a guy that is likely to be targeted by a playoff team looking for depth. So Z will likely be gone soon, and next year replaced by Rousek/Rosen/Savoie or some other smurf, as Adams was quoted last night as saying he is going to be bringing up his young players next year. To which the 2nd announcer emphatically replied (twice) - "but you have to have a mix with some veterans".
  4. Did Z score an AHL Level goal last night?
  5. Big win. Another heart attack ending. UPL was the difference. Dahlin played 29 minutes and did a lot of heavy lifting Greenway, Cozens and Clifton impressed me. Clague played almost 12 minutes and they never said his name , I think I like that.
  6. Big faceoff , keep them in their zone boys get the draw.
  7. Tage with slash, after he was held.
  8. Skinner failed to clear and change 3 times in a row.
  9. I get the overall caution in their play looking for a road win, but they need to sprinkle in some o zone time. Take a few shots. Sneak a guy out for a breakaway if it’s there.
  10. Flirting with disaster. Not even trying for o-zone time. 9 mins gone and no shots.
  11. We don’t have a shot in the 3rd. Recommend we play in their zone more, get traffic in front and throw pucks at this guy. We need 4.
  12. Did you see them show Adams at the game? He is open for any discussions regarding players. Also the announcers claim that he said they are going with their young guys next year.
  13. Great stats by UPL. Not getting enough goal support, opposite of last year when they scored for him. Ok. Good period. 3-2 after 2.
  14. He is asking for a fight I think.
  15. Pretty good game though. Tuchie. SHG
  16. Armeia got too cute playing the PK like 5 on 5. Show off Good snipe Skinner.
  17. Did you hear that? Adam’s and Granato want to turn the team over to the younger players. So much for a splashy trade bringing in vets in their prime. Even the color guys pleaded twice, “ you have to have some veterans”.
  18. First I noticed Clague in for R Johnson.
  19. Zemgus must of read that Joe Schmoe thread. He will end up on the playoffs probably.
  20. Comical. Mitts had the clear and went backwards.
  21. Paul Hamilton can spare us. Teams get booed and it happens all the time, all over the league. Boston got booed a few days ago, they agreed with their fans. I’ve been to 4 games early this year, nothing toxic happened that I saw or heard. There were no boos either and the Sabres still managed to lose every game I was at. Happens when you are not ready to play, and your coach holds goalie tryouts for two months of the regular season. There is no hate. Not buying it. Hate is a word of these modern times, and it is over used and miss-used in this instance There is massive frustration with the way the franchise is run. It is a joke and simply not up to NHL Caliber. The hyper sensitive players need leadership, not coddling No one hates them. The unwillingness of the GM, coach, and player to own this drought is comical. They are not the cause for all of it, but they alone can end it if they would just own it and put the work in - like McD and the Bills did. They are like children with their comments about not being here for 13 years. This team is 3 years old and they have regressed, do they at least own that? That is not the fault of the paying customers. It is not obvious why they play better on the road. If it was the coach could have fixed it last year, or the year before. Was it toxic last year? Was there hate last year? They were equally as bad at home last year too, but last year was a love fest. Find another excuse for the bad home play. When they face the reality that the drought is theirs to fix, then they will finally do it. They are being lead by people that don’t understand that.
  22. The screen was set and Cozens passed it away. WTF
  23. Benson not phased. Greenway steps in. Refs called it right.
