Not enough workers is common. Poor service is common. Asking for tips just to do a basic job is common.

Many of the players are better than last year? Uh no. Three players have improved - JJP, UPL, and Greenway. Mitts and Z and Joker are playing about the same as last year. So many important players are playing worse- Tage, Tuch, Skinner, Power, Cozens, Dahlin, Muel, Okposo, VO - all having worse seasons. I see only a few positives and I don't see Donny improving this group. I see a poor coaching staff with limited technical know how, the game day coaching is also very bad, and the players are too comfortable with being a poor team. Not one player will own this drought. They can own it without taking the blame for 13 years of it. I keep seeing quotes from this team about who was not there for all of it, Dahls, Tage, Donny, Kevy - they should just own it and end it. Mentally week from Pegula down. Blow up the coaching staff this off season, conduct a real coaching review and and bring in someone that has won on the NHL level. Then let him work on bringing in a new staff, installing NHL systems, and allow him to influence the roster. Shut down the country club. There are coaches out there that can take the next step, and more.

... and something about the players too. The players should not need a coach breathing down their necks to get it. We have heard enough about Florida to realize its players like Tkachuk, Barkov, and Ekblad, that set the tone. This season showed me enough examples to know that the leadership in the room is not right.

Kane - 14 years. 4 teams. Mostly a 20 goal guy, two seasons he hit 30. Toughness that does not translate into good defense or good team play as he is mostly a minus player over that time. Sure, he can fight but I consider him a role player and potentially cancerous in the room. Rick Dudley was a 2nd line player that could fight. Danny Gare could have been 2nd line, but he fit better in the 3rd on our team. Mike Foligno was 1st and 2nd line, he sure could fight. May was a fighter, but 3rd line. After that the glove droppers were mostly lower tier players.

He was asked about what their coach recently said, that they are easy to coach because of the internal leadership. He had to dispute that a little bit, but also added that their roster is filled with leaders and hungry players. -

What makes a great pipe dream? Brind'Amour coming to Buffalo. 1. Adams knows him. 2. His contract expires this off season. 3. Buffalo needs a better hockey coach. 4. Terry Pegula is a multi-billionaire that said the reason for this team's existence is to win Cups, and he said he would drill another well if he needed more money to do it. -

If we pick him up it should be to work in the FO and help Adams put the roster together and to help Adams find a coach. Not sure he would work for Pegula? -

Nothing backfired. The Detroit team did not get anywhere last year but not because of adding vets, they struggled because the young guys are still learning - just like Buffalo did this season. The process of adding players is never a one year thing but you look at their roster and they added a few good vet players on reasonable contracts for reasonable durations. -

Mathew Tkachuk. He was interviewed after the game. He has a brother Brady, that plays for Ottawa and now wants out, 3 years into a 7 year $8.2M/yr deal. Matt was asked about winning the closes game he said he never thought they would give up the game tying goal, that the thought never entered his mind. The announcing crew extolled his virtues as a great hockey leader and a great interviewer for those words of wisdom.
