  1. A. The Bills are good thanks to McDermott and Beane and are not part of the discussion. The Sabres have had one season over .500 and still failed to make the playoffs. That is not a winning season in anybody's book but yours. I stick with ZERO winning seasons since the drought that Pegula created. B. The state of New York and Erie County will pay $850 million, with $600 million from New York and $250 million from Erie County. This is the largest taxpayer contribution ever for an NFL facility. The state might eventually recover some of it, depending on inflation and other factors (time value of money). Pegula certainly has the money to pay for the stadium, but he didn't "drill another well". C. He fired the hockey coach who led them to ONE Stanley Cup final, under a prior owner and GM, and then he came groveling back to him because he is incapable of conducting an effective job search for the Sabres. D. The Sabres are under the cap again. In yet another pivotal "must win" season. We shall see how it works out.
  2. I would say it’s a thing against the Sabres, and Dahlin is a victim of it. I am amazed at how many “fans” in Buffalo still don’t care for Dahlin’s game yet. It’s probably not the majority, but it’s quite a few. When I go to Buffalo, which is often, it’s very hard to find fans that really like this team anymore. The majority of the Sabre fan base is in the wait and see mode. Unlike football, the NHL has so many more games and the losing had become intolerable for many people. Draft picks take many years to develop, and this team sits on unspent cap dollars year after year. Dahlin is a victim of playing for an organization run by the least successful owner in NHL history ( rated by wins and losses and playoffs). Eichel and Reinhart are similar cases.
  3. This is all crazy talk. The Sabres and Bills have combined for 0 straight winning seasons under Pegula. ZERO. Taxpayers are building the new stadium. The Sabres finally found a coach? He found the guy that he fired. The future might be bright as long as Terry stays far away from Hockey Operations. If he shows up on a podcast, please ask him when the Sabres can spend to the cap. The teams lack of resources are certainly on him.
  4. Looked at the game stats and of note is that the Sabres outshot the Wings 6-4 in the 3rd period and won the period 1-0. Lindy is getting through to them. They have to work even harder to consistently close out games like they did today but it was nice to see that.
  5. Saying I don't understand winning streaks when your math level cannot comprehend how quickly that standings change in the first month of the season is making me laugh. Thank you for that. Check my receipts and you will see that I said after the Chicago road win to play UPL the next 2 home games and get a streak going. Both things happened. I might understand a little? Best team since 2011 means nothing. It is an empty title of nothingness. I want this year to be as good as 1972-73 for todays Sabres fans, especially for the younger fans that have yet to see a good team in Buffalo. Look that team up. Lindy Ruff was 12 that year BTW.
  6. Happy to see it. He is more physical so far this season. Playing with more purpose. He has been know to get flat and cold. So I will be even happier to see him be consistent and stay among the league scoring leaders. I think he can do it and show us that last year was an off year, and the two prior ones are the norm.
  7. They just played their 9th game so, uh,
  8. OK. I am glad you came on board to teach me about hockey.
  9. Wasn't that all on the same shift after Cozens stupidly iced the puck from one stride away from the red line, forcing a faceoff in our zone and his line to stay out there for another shift? The good part is that Quinn made the play and he needed to contribute in some way.
  10. Sure, and two points in October has the same value as two points in February. But everybody is bunched up in the standings in the first months, if they lose two straight they could in the basement as well. I am looking for wins and consistency in their game. I am looking for more grit and more poise. They need to show us they have staying power and enough depth for the long season. It is early, but it certainly looks like they are playing much better.
  11. I think Lindy's sets high expectations. I also think DG made excuses at times for his team youth and their "feelings", etc. They still need to get even better at home. Good teams feast on home games.
  12. Please no. I have PTSD from EEE.
  13. Matinee win for the kids. Good work overall. Nice 3rd period. UPL made the bigs ones when it counted most. Three straight. Feels good.
  14. Wow. We needed that one. Kane took too long. Quinn gets off the Schnied.
  15. Yes. Probably so. Most of us think Ehrhoff was a terrible signing and one of many low points in Sabre GM’ing.
  16. Fourth line did some good Lindy stuff. Not Mitts? We are going back to Eichel now?
  17. Oh boy Tuchie. Deek the Lyon.
  18. Benson will be back soon. So will KAB. Kukich and Krebs have past Quinn. Is Quinn eligible for a Rochester assignment without clearing waivers? (I should already know this).
  19. Well we got out of that period even, with 2 goals each side. Sabres level of play dropped in the second period. Win the 3rd and win the game. This will be a good test for two fringe playoff teams. Both teams have been rebuilding at the same time and are likely to be rivals for quite a while. Last year Detroit was a bit better than Buffalo. Buffalo has to be beating this team head to head. Go Goat Heads.
  20. Dunleavy stop being stupid. Please.
