Agree. It’s not an excuse if there is data behind it. Young teams lose. If Adams fields another roster that averages 24-25 next year then they will consistently lose to rosters that average 28 or more. I am more sick of the “good veterans won’t come here” narrative. Great excuse for Adams. The Bills overcame that. Step one for Adams, which he still has not done, is to own it and get everyone that works for him to own it. They need to change the coach.

Detroit and Sabres latest rebuild are good ones to compare. Yzerman doing draft and develop plus bringing in veterans (Husso, Compher, Copp, Perron, Fabbri, Sprong, Kane, DeBrincat, Czarnik, Ghostisbehere, Petry …) Adam’s brought in Greenway, Clifton, a bunch of $780k JAGS, and a few really old guys.

Real data. The bottom 4-5 teams along with the Sabres have the youngest rosters, just like last year. Always, in every season, the youngest teams finish on the bottom. The winning streaks, or lack of, is directly related to two things 1 coaching and getting them ready 2 age/experience/leadership - they have to get themselves ready and be accountable to each other. We have enough speed and skill. We lack the right veteran know-how, and the leadership from within that comes with it. I agree that Adams is the primary reason for the roster construction.
