  1. They lost a lot of games in the first period. They fall behind and then they press. The other team can play a simpler game if they lead by 2 goals after 1 period. You are a good stat guy. Look it up. How many winning teams consistently lose the first period? Maybe they got better after the first admission because they woke up. I doubt the coaches did anything, what was the adjustment? Stop passing to the guys in Red? Take more shots? They didn’t score after the first.
  2. Hey, they drafted Benson at 13 last year and he made the team. What does that say about the level of our forwards? Looking forward to see what Adams does with this coaching staff. Looking forward to how Adams handles Byram’s contract. Looking forward to see how they replace Mitts. Looking forward to acquiring a big, tough, hard hitting heavyweight defenseman. Looking forward to adding a power forward. Looking forward to fixing the 4th line. Looking forward to Adams replacing the 8 worst players on this team next year.
  3. Once again a bad start. Big mistakes by young players. Once we fell behind we got Lyoned like last year versus Florida. Just not enough. Dahlin and Tage came to play but the lineup overall has a lot of garbage players, and lacks players that know how to win at this level. I’m really starting to not like the Mitts for Byram trade. We need a center badly and created a huge hole. Is Adams going to hand a job to a prospect? We will find out.
  4. He level Debrindcat who was going for the empty netter when it mattered. I wish more had his fire. I’ve been playing for several weeks.
  5. Dahlin ran a few guys in that last action
  6. Detroit got some nice breaks. Charoit and Sieder on Greenway. They should get a pp He is like that.
  7. The first line had a good shift. Then it all fell apart with 2 giveaways for goals
  8. He had 42 hits in 72 games. Why are you expecting anything different?
  9. Hits are about even. Two fights today. why would you want that?
  10. Coaches yes, but some of that has to come from the players. oh. Power leaking blood. He is going to be less pretty for awhile.
  11. Sure am happy we don’t have Kane blocking our prospects.
  12. We need 3 goals in 11 minutes. Better start shooting.
  13. Can’t blame Panger for knowing stuff.
  14. Agree. It’s not an excuse if there is data behind it. Young teams lose. If Adams fields another roster that averages 24-25 next year then they will consistently lose to rosters that average 28 or more. I am more sick of the “good veterans won’t come here” narrative. Great excuse for Adams. The Bills overcame that. Step one for Adams, which he still has not done, is to own it and get everyone that works for him to own it. They need to change the coach.
  15. Detroit and Sabres latest rebuild are good ones to compare. Yzerman doing draft and develop plus bringing in veterans (Husso, Compher, Copp, Perron, Fabbri, Sprong, Kane, DeBrincat, Czarnik, Ghostisbehere, Petry …) Adam’s brought in Greenway, Clifton, a bunch of $780k JAGS, and a few really old guys.
  16. Real data. The bottom 4-5 teams along with the Sabres have the youngest rosters, just like last year. Always, in every season, the youngest teams finish on the bottom. The winning streaks, or lack of, is directly related to two things 1 coaching and getting them ready 2 age/experience/leadership - they have to get themselves ready and be accountable to each other. We have enough speed and skill. We lack the right veteran know-how, and the leadership from within that comes with it. I agree that Adams is the primary reason for the roster construction.
  17. A playoff team’s average age is at least 4 years older than Buffalo’s team. Even Detroit’s team is 4 years older on average. That is the biggest reason this team cannot string wins. We have 3 in row as our max.
  18. Bisonette telling us about Sabres bad habits. He said the cross ice saucer passes by Quinn in the neutral zone are bad. Hmmm, good to know.
