Which was proven by the Byram for Mitts trade. I really think we have the more impactful player in Byram over Mitts. But our record shows that the trade didn't make the team better. The team is very weak at center, and we have the luxury of three top 4 LHD puck movers. Byram will want to get paid this off season. If we had a GM that could flip him for center that is equal to or better than Mitts I will let this go. But I am still baffled by the way this roster is constructed.

The opponent does not give up and pushes back. Which happened yesterday. The Kracken have a lot of vets that are not used to losing to the Sabres over their careers. They made that known again.

None of this has anything to do with fans. Any talk of differences in fan bases in a small place like Buffalo is off base. The Sabres problem is 100% bad ownership. Fans are going to vent. I also post on the Bills TSW. The Bills are very successful right now, yet you can count more fans over there hating on McDermott than there are regulars posting on this site. The Sabres have lost a significant portion of their fan base. Thats the fruit of 14 years of losing and disfunction.

That entire episode was weird. There was the hit, which I thought Tanev turned and ducked, or did something unusual. Then the scrum and all the roughing. Then Ray was saying don’t let Dahlin fight, way to protect him. I did not agree with that messaging btw. They had another powerless power play. Then they stopped playing.

The majority of this team has been together for several seasons now. They play the Granato system, which isn’t a NHL system at all. Lindy has to coach the Granato system out of these players. Some nights they get it, then they revert back. This game changed its complexion when Tanev went nuts over the Dahlin hit. The Kracken took over at that point.

Thomspson - Cozens - Zucker were all -4, each. Ruff said Thompson is hurt and can’t take faceoffs. I also think Ruff doesn’t think Tage can play the defensive structure that he wants from his centers. He has alluded to it. Same with Cozens It’s probably fair to say Cuzzy needs to move down. The needs 3rd line matchups. He was exposed by the Kracken, not a great thing. That leaves McLeod and Krebsie. Kulich hurt. We drafted Rosen, Savoie, Östlund, Kulich and Helenius yet we don’t have any centers. We really don’t.

Dahlin knows he is not the reason they don’t win. All the players know their teams flaws. Every teams has players that are close friends. If he is worried about any of what you suggest then he should give the C back. Winning should be the priority.
