  1. I guess they can move Adams to another role. They just promoted Jerry Forton to Assistant GM. Jason Karmanos is already Associate GM and he runs Rochester, so maybe they promote him to GM? He has more hockey operations experience than Adams had when he got the GM job. It fits in with Terry hiring someone that he knows and trusts.
  2. I think we also saw a big void left by Greenway against Philly. We will be missing our best offensive forward and our best defensive forward tonight. I think its time to bring Joker back for a spin too. ---- Monarch Whipping
  3. My thoughts are that Adams job is completely safe right now, and on Thanksgiving, no matter what happens on this west coast trip. I think the owner respects him and he will finish the year. If there is a change it will be after the season.
  4. Classic response. I provided lots more content, some compelling points to consider, including a few positives, but you cling to "the buck stops here". Tell me in what business, or in what organization, is the leader/owner not responsible for its performance? Look at your own posts for tropes and lots of excuses. Continue to ignore 13 years worth of measurable and undisputable performance.
  5. When a young player makes a immediate good first impression and then stops progressing we tend to think that they were pushed too fast. Which may be true, our it could be the fact that they joined a poor team and they play to the level of the collective group. In the past guys like Mitts and Thompson were definitely rushed into the lineup, but they survived it. Recently we have seen both Muel and Quinn drop off, but both have had injuries that derailed them too. Levi and Benson are examples of very promising kids that got NHL games immediately upon arrival. They may have been better than the players we had but this is not how good teams operate. It shows a pretty low bar on the NHL roster. Good and established teams bring up players when they can beat out an NHL incumbent, and these younger players are in a better environment surrounded by veterans and they join a team that plays at a higher level. The Sabres have got to get back to that model of player development at some point. Their recent past model of draft, develop (very quickly), and field a young Core needs to end. The Sabres are in a loop that is keeping this team among the younger teams in the league by average age, and its been that way for how long now? Four or five years? The very young teams do not win.
  6. The sentence in bold would be a problem. You don’t bring in a new GM to a team that hasn’t been in the playoffs for 13 years and tell him who his coach is. I suppose it could happen in Buffalo if they promote from within and just give the GM job to either Karmanos or Forton.
  7. What Terry contributes is obvious as he is accountable for it all. His performance is one of the easiest to rate since the buck stops with him and he is the only constant in the organization since he took over Every other key leadership position in the organization have been replaced, some numerous times. How about his hires for GM? Business operations? COO? How about his decision to put his wife in charge? How about the fact that he designs the entire organizational structure and is responsible, at a minimum, for all the direct reports to him. How about he has final say on the payroll for his execs, for the players, for the staff? How about his self proclaimed plan to run the Sabres in an “efficient, effective, and economic“ manner? That strategy was put in place in 2020, discussed publicly, and has been going on for 5 years now? Any thoughts at all on how that is working out? How about the in game experience, the TV experience, the condition of the arena, the marketing and communications aspects of the team? You’re a season ticket holder, right? How is the overall product value to you? How about the Sabres record on the ice and in the box office? Obvious indicators that you want to ignore. How about the Sabres franchise and brand - the perception, reputation, and culture? We never established that most teams are just lucky hiring GMs. That’s an absurd generalization. Teams like Boston and Tampa have been competitive for decades. Washington is retooling right now without hitting the bottom and tanking. Many teams were down in the standings when we were, and have since risen up the standings. I seriously doubt that it’s all about luck. You don’t want to admit the obvious. His grade for Sabres Ownership is an F. It’s been nothing short of a massive failure so far. His positives are two things, and they are big things, he has not moved them and Harbor Center.
  8. From what I can tell, it still looked like man coverage pre-snap.
  9. Me too. I can thank the Buffalo Bills for that.
  10. Ah HA! And Idemo came here right about the time you left. Idemo could be your alter ego?
  11. So how do you rate the Sabres ownership?

  13. Others have also said 3d line, with middle 6 ceiling. He could score high teens low 20s in his prime. Or, he may not ever reach that. Looking forward to seeing him if he plays.
  14. Eye-zick Row-sin
  15. Awesome find Taro. That explains it.
  16. The big men in the NFL are also amazing athletes. The Chiefs definitely started in run defense with 10 in the box. Allen had two rbs in the backfield no both went out to the opposite flat and took KC coverage with them. Allen had an option to run and saw it open. I might try to find the post game interview again but I thought he said they rotated to zone and the run game opened for him. Could be he wanted to run anyway. Once Allen got to the LOS he had room, lots of room. Whatever it is, Brady beat Spagnola on that chess move. Having Allen allows plays like that. He is dangerous and hard to defend.
  17. He is not preparing to be a back up. He is preparing to be a good NHL goalie. Right now he gives up 4 goals a game and stops 87% of the shots he sees. That level of play (or better) we can get from a limited used of Riemer while Levi gets more games. I am not a goalie coach expert, but there are facets of his game that need work and playing 75% of the games in the AHL will allow many more reps than playing playing 25% of games in the NHL. Sure the AHL shooters are not as good and the game is slower, but working on his side to side movement, going down and up while tracking the puck, protecting posts, closing the 5 hole, improving the glove, rebound control, puck handling and passing - it is more about live-fire preparation and getting more live-fire repetition makes you better. What NHL teams do not use the AHL or other leagues to develop goalies? How many 18-22 year old goalies are successful #1's in todays NHL?
  18. Yes, the showed man pre-snap, but Allen said they dropped into zone. The was room for Allen to pick up speed and go once he passed the LOS.
  19. The bold - Sitting out will help Quinn in the long run. He needs to sit out a few and watch, and then simplify his game. Stop thinking, move his feet, and start shooting more too.
  20. Yes, running was tough sledding, except for Allen ... the Chiefs did play with 7, 8, and sometimes even 9 up front to stop the run and to show blitz. The Chiefs have a very stingy run defense, averaging only 3.6 YPC for the season. The Chiefs left room for the passing game and focused on the run. They dared the Bills to go throw the deeper lower percentage passes - Josh did hit a few longer ones to Cooper (playing with a cast on his left wrist) but then he came out in the second half. The Bills had over 100 yard rushing, Allen had half of the yards. Interestingly, on the critical 4th and 2 TD play, the Chiefs dropped into a zone and moved guys back. Allen had the option to run and took it. I counted 5 guys that missed him. Allen is strong, fast enough, and elusive. What an athlete.
  21. Very fair. Now which player impacted his teams fortunes more? How many QBs would have made those plays on the final drive? Bruce was best at his position. Kelly won more. Allen does more things at an elite level, and he carries the biggest load passing and running, and in todays game he is elite.
  22. This is your hot take?
  23. You are correct.
