The Sabres should trade the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft
Pimlach replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Thinking more about it. I would prefer to keep this pick and move the prospect(s) the FO thinks think less of. I know very little about the players in the draft, but if we make a pick at 11 then I hope Iginla is there. -
Loved Denucci, and I saw him beat nemesis Waldo Von Erick in the Aud and he also beat Ernie "The Big Cat" Ladd (a former AFL player) . He formed a great tag team with Tony Parisi and later again with Victor Rivera. Good times.

Thanks. Hoping to see this aspect of his game continue to improve in his 3rd year. He could be ready the year after. Of course if Adams does not add a few helpful vets he could be playing in the NHL sooner, rather than later. -

This makes sense. Both our coaches and other teams scouts have now had a few more years to look at Rosen, Kulich, Östlund and Savoie. Maybe the shine has come off of a few of them, or maybe a few look better? Either way, I would be inclined to move on one or two of the four 20-21 year olds, and then add an 18 year old from this draft. This gives the pipeline more legs. -

I have seen nothing that indicates Kulich is more of a 2-way player than anyone else in this group. He may be, but I hear that is the part of his game that still needs development. However, Kulich's potential cannot be denied. At 20 he has already played 119 AHL games with 51 goals, plus 16 playoff games and 7 goals. He is 6'1" and 186 pounds - that is good size for 20 years old. His play and leadership in Worlds was also notable. I suspect he is going to be ready by 22. Trade him and we just might regret it. We really don't know much at all about how Östlund's game translates to North American hockey. Like Kulich he is 20 years old, but at 5'11" he still weighs only 165'ish and has a slighter build. He has 5 AHL games under his belt, way to soon to make any solid judgements. Supposedly has good hands and skills. Nothing so far that wants me to keep him over Kulich, or Savoie for that matter. -
It was Bobo. But his patented move was the Coco butt, which was a head butt. Most every great rastler had a signature move. A flying drop kick, a sleeper hold, a chop to the throat, or something.

I loved when the Sheik was on. Or Bobo Brazil.

The Sabres should trade the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft

This seems like the year to trade the pick. They just committed to winning now. They need veteran help. They already have a bunch of prospects. If they don't trade it, the guy that could be intriguing is Iginla. -
We used stickers to mark the best channel locations. VHF channels using the older names: Buffalo had channels 2 (WGR/NBC), 4 (WBEN/CBS), 7 (WKBW/ABC), and Canadian channels were 5, 9, 11 - I think the call letters were CTV, CBC, CHCH but I can't recall which was which anymore. UHF channels were 17 (PBS) and then they added 29 (Local stuff, WNED) I used to watch HNIC and the Hamilton Red Wings OHL. Could not get enough. Canadian Pro wrestling was also a must.

I went to that one. I thought we would win the Cup that year. Bernie Parent in goal was the difference,

Carolina PP looks like the Sabres.

Maybe at the bar with Playfair and Dudley.

Boston took a 3-0 lead last against FLA and then lost 4 straight. This was one game, anything can happen. That said, I do think Boston could win this series.

No way was Maroon signing with Buffalo in 2019-2010. He signs with contenders, and then gives them a boost in the playoffs when the whistles are put away and the game play fits his style.

Sorry, but this is for Members Only ...

I am well aware of the role of Academics in this country. I don't blindly dismiss them and I don't look at them as hero's either. I thought the Ted Talk was good. He made some interesting points and a few that made me cringe. Lets just say I do not agree with every interpretation of the data that he makes in his 19 minute segment were he spends maybe 2 minutes on each topic. Some things are far more complex than the limited set of data he shows could explain. Politicians in the US today continue to disappoint me. Far too often you see that gaining wealth and power come before service to the people, and too many are willing to blindly support their party, and the special interests that fund them, to achieve their personal goals. National politics is a sport for the wealthiest, not the smartest.

I am down 23 pounds since January. I have been doing weight training, walking, golf, eliminating bad food, almost no sweets/deserts, and cutting way back on alcohol. I am 65, retired for 3 years, and man do I feel great. Gonna keep it going.

This all sound like petty BS. UPL had not earned a thing up until late January' 24, and neither did Levi for that matter. None of this should impact contract negotiations unless Adams lets it. I did hear grumblings that last season some players were upset that Levi was plugged in for those late season games, and UPL was out. Is this team cliquey or what?

WTF? Why should he care about Joker getting moved? Why hopefully. Keep the better of the two.
-
What? This is soft and more soft. When did he get skipped over? The Sabres refused to bring in a real NHL for several seasons waiting for someone to take the job.

Taveres to Buffalo for Levi and Clifton???? How about for Tokarski and Clague?

While I enjoy the Leaves losing again, I am reminded of Terry Pegula, and the reason for the Buffalo Sabres existence.
