  1. Good luck on the rehab. Not to make light of the situation but on the humorous side, the Alfredson Protocal and the Ultrasound Shockwave Machine sound like things from the Bat Cave, circa mid-60's Batman and Robin.
  2. Ok, I get it. But it should not take too much for this roster to get better results than last year- and I still believe a lot more hinges on the play of UPL, Thompson, and Cozens than say Malenstyn, McLeod, and Zucker. Ruff will add an NHL worthy system, and will hold them accountable, and the new players will add some speed and grit. While I have never been very excited about the Byram for Mitts trade, I am looking for him to play up to his lofty draft status of 4OA, and so far I do not see anything close to elite in the limited time he has been a Sabre. If Byram does emerge, then we have to figure out how to re-sign him, and I guess that could be a good problem too.
  3. Why doesn't he put something out and ask all his former Patreons to re-patriate?
  4. Ok @Thorny, which part do you disagree with (the most)?
  5. They have been effective at losing. Effective at fan alienation. Effective at being a destination that no one wants to go to. Effective at offering jobs to unqualified people. They have done all these things with pretty good efficiency too.
  6. Well looking at the moves this way is quite interesting. Mitts > McLeod ; but at least McLeod brings top end speed and faceoffs and playoff experience Skinner > Zucker as a pure goal scorer; but at least you can say Zucker is a better 2 way player and more versatile and brings playoff experience Lafferty > Okposso; Lafferty brings more of what we need, at this stage of his career Kyle is essentially done Girgs - Malenstyn; this is a wait and see move, they must really like Malenstyn, Abe-Kubel > Olofsson; Olofsson is the more skilled scorer but Abe-Kubel brings much more of what we need Byram > E Johnson (and R Johnson and Bryson); not much to discuss here Riemer > Comrie ; He better be Ruff > Granato; Granato and his staff were badly exposed last season and every coach in the league knew how to play Buffalo by the end of the 22-23 season Add this up and you can see a step forward assuming: (1) Byram is actually good; (2) Zucker and McLeod can bring some offense along with their experience; and (3) the 4th liners click and take some starch out of the opponent. This alone is not a lot. Ruff is a bigger key. Improving the PP, improving the PK, improving home ice readiness and record, win by locking down on leads. All things Ruff can do, and things that he needs to bring back to Buffalo. Still, given all this, the roster changes are not that deep and a playoff season will more likely hinge on strong seasons from UPL, Thompson, Dahlin, Tuch, Cozens, and Power, along with continued growth of JJP, Quinn, and Benson.
  7. I feel that Lindy's role is to get us to the playoffs and bring back credibility. After that he turns it over to Appert. Adams put Appert behind the bench, not Lindy.
  8. The combinations of Jost/Robinson/ Girgersons/ Okposso /Olofsson are simply non-playoff. Moving on was long overdue.
  9. Adam’s is NOT turning over every stone and he is still operating under $$$ constraints. Get that straight first and foremost. When the player and agent side says we never talked, then I believe that they never talked. Whatever scenario you want to dream on how that happened, it really does not matter. Adams lied (exaggerated) about the veteran coaching search too. He never talked to Berube, McClellan, or Gallant either. He had one “veteran coach” in mind.
  10. Nothing I saw so far says that trading Mitts for Byram upgraded this team. After 3 games Byram became just a fancy version of Joker. I still don’t see how we can pay Byram the kind of dollars Power is getting. Assuming they think Byram is at that level, which so far I don’t. Byram starts with a clean slate under Ruff. I’m watching.
  11. But he didn’t get $7M, he got a reasonable contract that Buffalo could have easily paid. But Buffalo never talked to him. Which is a really big reason to question if Adams has a clue.
  12. We already had the 3rd line center who was capable and skilled enough to move up to 2 or 1. We will see how good Byram actually is this season, if he is really good then signing him will be the next challenge. Seems like a roundabout way to build when what we really needed is a stay at home RHD. We have puck movers (Dahlin, Power, Joker, Johnson).
  13. I will always like Lindy and he is an upgrade to DG. I did NOT like the “coaching search”. Very amateurish overall. This is a hire the guy you know to placate the masses, and then set up your AHL guy to take over. This is as much about getting Appert ready. Lindy didn’t bring in a staff. If Lindy still has it, it might work out. These “return to the glory years” type of hires rarely do work out though.
  14. Good (for Adams), but incomplete. Not sure we are a playoff team, still need to see the Lindy impact, and everything still hinges on “the Core” and UPL.
  15. What is wrong with Chautauqua? Beautiful place, excellent venue, and people are people. Wasn't the attack on Rushdie at Chautauqua coincidental to Chautauqua? Hegemony? Why do you bring this up. This is a concert, not a world war? I am lost with this post. Were you unprepared because because you were concerned about socio-political things instead of preparing to hear good music? @That Aud Smell, Poor grammar aside, this reads like another language. So much labeling and stereotyping. Not at all what art/music is supposed to be about. This is concert thread. Who are you going to see and how was the show - Why can't it be that simple?
  16. Dream about the Sabres? Uh no.
  17. Sure, and also working working on his diet to feed that kind of muscle gain. Just look at him now and compare to his draft day interview. He really is growing fast. They said he speaks 5 languages too. Hopefully the college environment keeps him focused.
  18. Just read that Max Strbak is up to 205 lbs going into sophomore season at Michigan State (NCAA). Could be a good shut down defenseman someday.
  19. Rick Martin was on pace for a 500+ career goals, and a Hall of Fame career. What if, he never got injured?
  20. Awesome: seeing the grandbaby. Not awesome at all: Houston in August (or March, April, May, June, July, September and October). I just don't really understand how 7M+ people can live there?
  21. If Tage gets back to 40+ goals and 90+ points he is ahead of many in your list and then how do you not take him?
  22. This could be the most descriptive whiskey review I have ever read. Quit your day job and get down to the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky.
  23. I really like all kinds of Single Malt Scotches but now, in the past two years I have been drinking Bourbon's quite a bit as well. Maybe that is why I make so many typos in the GDT's? My current staple is Woodford Reserve but there are many others up there with it. There are lower priced bourbons (Four Roses and Jim Beam to name a few) that are also good. Keep moderation in mind and sip slowly.
  24. Mayor Sedita could be the grey haired guy way in the back
  25. Tall guy behind the balding white haired guy.
