lorentz says it is a goal. to me, i'd say no goal because of the gesture that guy made towards the puck.
-
crap. 2-2 on a kovalev breakaway with 3 minutes left
-
yes. i think we had those feelings when our savior QB threw for 100 yards and passed to his 300lb tight end converted to RT against the 2-14 texans and thought it was the beginning of the dynasty.
-
just kidding, by the way
-
they're stupid, but they do love their team... did i mention that all french canadians are stupid?? stupid, soft, and very homosexual
-
they're really propping up briere for a return either thursday or saturday...
-
yet another late-in-period goal. this team is so good its scary
-
i've never seen such a dominant goalie, in miller, not have at least one shutout. its crazy
-
hasek might have stopped that shot... other than that, it was on brian campbell

SCOOOOOOOOOOOOORES! mad on a bachand, on the PP

0-0 after one. i came back from class halfway through the first, and the sabres looked really good. There were a couple defensive letdowns at the end of the period, but you can't have everything. Again, USA Vezina Miller is on tonight. Unfortunately, so is the montreal goalie, so it will take a great play to get one up on these guys. Hopefully peters is implicated in this gambling ring. That'd be an easy way to get him off the ice.

have the sabres actually made someone other than me not think two sh--s about the super bowl in anticipation for tuesday's game? Seriously, its super bowl sunday and i just can't wait for montreal. Try explaining that to the land of nascar, where i live.
-
ok ok, shrader 1, corp 0.... i'm just getting excited because the sabres have not been this good at this point in the regular season in like 10 years or something.

I'm overestimating the shootout victory over hasek because i've been a fan of dominik hasek since he came to the sabres and i know him as a hockey player. There's a 99.9% chance that hasek will outplay you and outwit you. There's also a 0.1% chance that you'll beat him. If you hit that 0.1%, its all over though. Hasek's achillies heal is his psyche, and mid march is a long time to think about vanek. If the sabres can beat the weekday games of montreal 2x and florida, and find a way to beat the canes, you have to consider them to be the best team in hockey.

Well, right now i think we can all classify the eastern conference like this: 1) Carolina 2) Buffalo 2a) ottawa 3-16) everyone else my point is, buffalo is beginning to show signs that they are in a class all of their own. We have the canes next weekend (i'm going to be there live!!) and a home and home warmup against the canadiens this week, the sabres can become #1 on paper as well as in everyone's minds. Yes, we beat the sens and got a 3 point game out of it. More importantly though, we struck fear into the senators tonight. Far more important than the actual victory. As for the game: 1) Miller played outstanding. He showed confidence in the crease, played the puck nicely behind the net, and didn't fold in the shootout. His one goal was a mental gaffe, which is troublesome. As a goalie though, you rely on your defensemen to help you out when the puck goes behind the net. They obviously didn't. 2) Dumont looked lost on most of his shifts. I had him penciled in for giving up a play that turned out to be a goal. Good thing it didn't happen. 3) Peters F---ed up his sparing partner. 4) The Hasek factor. As i mentioned above, the sabres struck fear into the senators. The worst case scenerio for hasek and the sens was to lose in a shootout. Gives good old flaky Dom something to think about later. 5) Saturday night victory over a canadian team=respect, or at least a temporary hold on the non-respect. I'm very excited for this team. The olympic break is fast approaching and connolly, briere, and kalinin will all be healthy. That's scary.

me either. I sure did when he left. I was disgraced in him and despised him. However, looking back, i realize that he was a genius for leaving before the you know what hit the rigas fan. I'd have done the same thing. I believe that when he's finally retired for good, he'll come back to the sabres and thank the fans.

game of the year to date... I think there'll be a bigger "game of the year" coming down the stretch (like mid june, to be more specific...)

This Day in Sabres History :: February 3
Corp000085 replied to Stoner's topic in This Day in Sabres History
Don't feel too bad. I've only been there two times. the first was to sift through and find the morning skate podcast link, the second was to sift through and find the shootout podcast link -
i mean 6-1 on saturday... hasek will not start, but the backup will get pulled after 4 goals.
-
4-2 final... good thing i didn't change my original prediction. i am glad that miller got shut out of the olympics. this is becoming a bigger story than the olympics itself... look out ottawa, here come the buffalo sabres.
-
pominville with an EN goal. 4-2 sabres and it looks like we're going to win.
-
USA! USA! USA! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! tough guy!
-
4-2 was my prediction... I didn't have the heart to edit that post, but you can still call me Nostradamus. as for an updated prediction, i have a funny feeling its going to be 6-1 at the end of this one.
-
pominville got cross checked in front of the net, and then punched in the head with no penalty. todd, you are correct
-
esche sucks. only fags trip
