ok end of the first. only positive is that the sabres had a few chances in the last minute of the period. all it takes is one shot, early...
-
no doubt... now its 2-0. these g uys are not the bruins. the sabres need a goal now
-
miller gave up the rebound, but he seemed to recover. I'd say that goal was on kalinin. it should be 2-0 except for jay mckee's eyebrow
-
1-0 sens. they're really outskating the sabres now. they need to get on their game. 11-0 are the shots on goal right now
-
7:00 pm. directv channels 768, 627 and finally, its rick and jim on my center ice feed. thank god file this under the category "duh" but miller is in net. mckee is a pimp... darcy needs to lock him up long term after the season ends.

yeah, i was just going to type that same thing. For the first time since the 2000 playoffs, i am twiddling my thumbs here. good thing there's only 5 minutes to go
-
yeah sorry about that. i wasn't reading straight. I think i posted that around 6:30am or so...

woah, back up.. the first tie breaker is total wins and not head to head wins? That seems a little odd if that's the case. They're all Game of the Year from here on out.
-
Easily the game of the year. It was a defensive style, rely on the goalie, and score the timely goal type of game that you'd expect out of michael peca, dominik hasek, and the 1999 buffalo sabres. They won playing the defensive style game, and it was truly awesome to watch. Miller stood on his head. For as bad as he's been, he'd have made hasek look bad tonight. The dude played the best game of the season for the sabres. I'm only worried about hecht's knee and briere's head. He got hit in the head but came back in the game. However, you never know with head and neck injuries. No negatives to report. Truly a playoff win for the buffalo sabres tonight.
-
his knee got tweaked on a hit. he was able to skate off on his own though, so hopefully he won't miss any time... if he does miss, taylor pyatt, for what he's worth, will at least be hungry to crack the lineup if he's forced to go on thursday.

addressing the hypothetical arugment about miller's cold streak: ryan was not technically sound in the 3rd period, but he made the saves, and that's all that counts when it comes to confidence and the victory. as stojan suggested on the TBD side, what if ryan is hiding a pulled muscle or something? if that were the case, i'd say he's playing pretty darn well. We will not know till the laffs game, but perception is reality, and hopefully ryan only remembers that he shut out the caps in the 3rd... forget everything before that.
-
pretty bad, but he came alive in the 3rd... he made a bunch of hasekesque saves without his stick and was seeing the puck very well. we'll know definitively if his cold spell is over on thursday, but i'd say that since he was able to keep the caps off the board in crunch time, its over.

ok, upon further review the goal stands... sabres are now TIED with the senators for the lead in the division.
-
afinovenov scores on the miro moment with 1 second to go. great recovery by miller.. 1000x the confidence gained by having a crappy game and recovering than by having an awesome game. well, they've apparently called off the afinogenov goal. it looked good to me though. either way, the sabres win it again after being down. HOPEFULLY those miraclous saves by miller at the end will be the end of his cold streak.
-
what?? the sabres are 20 wins, 3 losses when kotalik scores... that's a telling stat right there!
-
kotalik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5-4 sabres
-
ok another penalty. the goalie tripped drury edit: oops grier... i need a bigger TV any word on msg/wgr55 on connolly's injury? it looked like he jammed his knee on a check
-
scooooooooooores! roy on the aformentioned PP rockDJ scooooooooooooooores with that sweet avatar!
-
the sabres are coming around in both zones now. they just need one friggin shot to go in ok, time for the sabres PP. they're 1 for 7, so time to turn it on.
-
i believe it was a low screen shot, but someone can correct me if i'm wrong. i barely got a glance of it
-
and now its 4-3... any confidence that ryan gained in the 2nd is lost
-
briere again!!!!!!!!!!!! 3-3
-
3-2. briere scores on the PP... now this game is back in reach
-
what gives with your entire post? (just kidding) it is 3-1. the caps scored on a quick drive to the net after the 2-1 faceoff.
-
jesus h. christ... ryan miller is now officially scaring the crap out of me. 2-1 caps on an ovechkin glove side high goal. 3-1 caps now on a quick goal off the faceoff... miller is toast.
