ok, ok, i'm with you on that... the sabres pretty much sucked for half the game, however, they won despite mother nature and the schedule. they also beat hasek and the Things. therefore, they are the better team! 4-0-0 bi+ches!

oh come on, the sabres were terrible in the 1st... the 2nd was even, and the 3rd was marred by crappy penalties... if anything the matchup was even. I'm not saying that the sabres didn't deserve to win. 2 power play goals, a full 2:00 5 on 3 kill. and an OT penalty kill is very deserving. however, i think eveyrone can agree that the sabres did not bring their A game. I just hope it shows up against the rangers tomorrow. By the way, if we get 4 points out of this weekend, which i hope we'll do, it will be a great weekend.

The red wings showed a lot more speed than i previously gave them credit for. they played a very good, disciplined game. they were not beaten by a better team tonight, they were beaten by timely goal scoring, a never quit attitude, and by sick shootout moves... oh yeah, they were also beaten by an all world goalie.... tough to swallow if you're the team with hasek on it! anyway, swede, and the red wings, we'll see you again in the finals, if you m ake it that far... check in often dude, you're just the newest member of a sweet online community.

i'll throw that warning back at you... the sabres are the best 3rd period team in the NHL for the past year and 2 weeks... its going to be intense

31-8 shots on goal (or something close to that), yet its 2-2 with the late tying goal by vanek... this is one hell of a good team. now they need to close out the 3rd period... play smarter hockey (i.e. cut kalinin immediately... do not even allow him to come out of the dressing room) and get some traffic to hasek. he's still got his reflexes, but he's way slow and if you can possibly get him moving laterally you may have the GWG. they just have to maintain focus and not take dumb penalties in the 3rd. Also, miller must continue to make smart decisions... "hasek batting" the puck, and the misplay that cost him the 1st goal were bad decisions... tighten up, move the puck, and we should all be blessed with some favorable results...

7:30pm on FRIDAY THE 13TH! what can happen? This game is really a crap shoot... You can argue that the sabres will roll because the red wings are the flyers west (old and slow)... you can argue that detroit will win because the sabres will be rusty after a 6 day layoff... Will the sabres come out strong against hasek? will hasek finally stand up to the buffalo sabres? I honestly don't know... if we get 2 out of the 4 points this weekend, i'll be satisfied (i don't see us losing at home against the rangers on saturday). sloppy play by the sabres, but they got a PPG... 2 defensemen score, and the guy who ottawa fans hate probably more than bills fans hate bryan cox: mr. pominville scores. One more for the good guys! You almost never see a team win its 3rd game in 4 nights, however, the sabres finish off the beginning crunch of the schedule 3-0. Time to rest up for some haseoke on friday!

This game could be a major letdown game for the sabres, 3rd game in 4 nights... it could get ugly. Coming into ottawa, a team that really hates us, after that emotional game last night... Wow... About the only thing that's on the sabres side tonight: if there's a definition for one team being in the head of another team, well that's the sabres situation with ottawa... We could win, and i really think we can, but it will be really difficult. Hope Emery plays!!! I love that guy.

well, i wasn't planning on having a heart attack 2 games into the season, but here we are!!! What a game!! Playoff atmosphere in october. All i can say is "wow". Positives: You know guys, maybe that lindy ruff guy knows what he's talking about with andrew peters... He had a decent game. Danny briere is not worth $5 million... he's worth $6 million. Afinogenov finally closed out a chance, with 13 f----- seconds left!!! Negatives: When TSN announcers are bashing the refs for calls that benefit the habs, you've got a major officiating problem on your hands. What a terrible game!! The impending power play slump is going to worry me after tomorrow night if there's no improvement. Wow... holy sh!!

Wow, great game... And yes, after a 7 game series, in which our entire team was out with injury, last year's regular season series, and this game, i'm finally willing to give the canes some credit for being damn good... Tonight the sabres were better. I really didn't know what to think about spacek till i got nhl07, where spacek is almost "tecmo bo". Well, now that i've seen the real thing, i can put all worried about a mckeeless defense behind me. Timely scoring, good puck movement, and the lack of stupid defensive mistakes spells a win tonight for the good guys. RANDOM THOUGHTS: if briere and hecht can get in sync with afinogenov (or visa versa) that's going to be a killer line... novotny looked very good out there. hard to tell that he was a rochester boy last year... miller looked outstanding. too many penalties campbell continues to hit the guy who clocked gaustad should get a fine at least.... it is the nhl and the canes are the showcase team, so we all know there won't be any suspensions, but that was a nasty shot to the face... vanek needs to score like friday, or i can see a lengthy cold streak like last year's beginning again. we beat the canes in raleigh, in OT... suck it Earnhardtiacs.
