7:00pm wow, the sabres travel to carolina with a fraction of their starting defensive corps, a couple injured forwards, and a banged up goalie... where have we heard this before? (well, except for the goalie part). After last night's game, miller better sleep in the hyperbaric chamber tonight to heal his groin/abdomen (BTW, that was briere's sports hernia original diagnosis last year, not htat i'm scared or anything). However, lydman and miller did fly with the team, so maybe we'll see them both back tomorrow... At this rate, i'll take lydman first. Paetsch has come along nicely, but i'd rather let mike card learn the game in rochester instead of in buffalo. I believe that the sabres will play strong and hard for the whole game. They get a day off today to be inspired by the bills. Then tomorrow, its gametime. The Sabres will win it in regulation!!

oops... i edited out the part in the original game thread that my parents are in town, so we watched the game together. i was not at the computer. I also can't promise anything for tomorrow night... we'll see what happens! (i'll definitely be back for monday though!)

that's some crazy stuff... i didn't see what happened though. must have been a verbal thing. anyone got a live game report on that?? by the way, i thought our defense has played well. paetsch, who had been shaky, has come around to being a decent defenseman... turning into yet another #7 guy who could be a #5 or #6 guy somewhere else. marty stunk tonight, which is bad news if you're a flyers phan.. i was also a little eased by lindy's post game... lydman had migranes and should be good to go tomorrow, miller will be good to go on monday.

7pm Well, the sabres squeeked by florida with only losing 2 of 6 defensemen. Numminen came back, but lydman stayed out. Hopefully that cut will just require a night's rest and a mask tomorrow. Hopefully miller will at least back up biron tomorrow night and be healthy for monday. And, dare i say it, but the sabres cannot look past the flyers. We give them a lot of crap for being bad (they are very bad. the long break between sabres games gave me time to catch a few flyers games... they might be worse now than when we beat them 9-1) but they're damaged and they're looking for revenge. The sabres will be in a 2nd game of a back to back situation, coming to a hostile environement... for as much as the flyers hate the sabres, their fans hate the team more. Provided its just a cut or some loose teeth, lydman should be back. provided that ruff wasn't hiding anything, a night's rest for miller should get him ready to at least test out his "lower body muscle strain". 8pm i said it after the rangers game, that the team needed a gritty win and some time to work on things. Well, they get to put this to the test against the panthers. Don't really know what to expect with this one. Seems like we should roll, however, those florida teams have historically given the sabres fits. Wow, way to steal another two points... They really need to take this week and recharge the batteries. They've been playing slow footed since the thrashers game last saturday. Don't know if they're not trying hard enough, don't know if other teams are catching up, don't know if they're just slowing down, but this team is out of sync. They need to reestablish their identity. Maybe with stafford and paille in for afinogenov and peters, they can become more physical? Paetsch looks good on some plays and totally lost on others. Lindy needs to work this team this week. Florida is 5 days away. I'll always take 0.500 for a back to back < 24 hour situation. Awesome that this team came back yet again, however, i'm becoming sick of it. Go ahead already.
