horrid period...; at least we didn't get into penalty trouble near the end. the nhl schedule really sucks these days!

kotalik has been nothing short of awful for about a month.

why do i have a sinking feeling??? this team needs to regain its killer instinct and fast... another penalty kill situation.

well, awesome first period, both defensively and offensively. miller looks good, and WOW what a goal by afinogenov... we actually won a bunch without him?? glad he's back!

7:00pm after a very solid performance on Friday night, the sabres will POTENTIALLY have miller back in goal and funk in place of card. Time for some retribution against the senators for wednesday's defeat. A nice solid road game, continuing the team defense that they played las tnight will do very well for my heart. 4-1 buffalo... they'll get another empty netter.

something's messed up with the cameras... good period by the sabres.. too many penalties at the end, but they played very well killing those penalties and at even strength. nice to see the PP clicking too.. oh and the white mask and people getting pissed at marty must be working. that was one hell of a spectacular save.

if miller's a backup, you better believe that marty's getting a shutout tonight... that's not saying anything bad about marty's performance as of late, but that's just how he is... when he's got someone breathing on his shoulder he plays better. Good for the sabres, bad for the pens.

so, did roy break his hand or what?? At least miller and max will be back.

8pm sorry i'm late... didn't have a chance to log in and make my usual 6:30am game thread... i decided to sleep instead. oh well. anyhow, i have no clue as to the injury news, but what if max came back tonight? holy crap, that would be a lift... at this point, you'd almost have to bench peters, play stafford and adjust the lines a bit. salary cap be damned. also, mike card goes down in place of one of the better amerks defenders. we'll see what happens tonight.. i just hpoe they come out strong and play a good game.

usually i don't get on the "blame so and so" after one loss, but this loss was a long time in the making for marty biron. he didn't play terrible, but he didn't play great. giving up 3rd period leads is inexcusable. I too am ready for dennis if miller is not ready on friday. All we need is for dennis to play decent and stop crosby once and that should make marty think twice about his great chance to lead another team...

well, hopefully tonight will light a fire... damn, that was sloppy on all accounts. Briere showed up... drury came back from an injury... um, other than that, the team pretty much stunk up the joint. biron sucked, our pp sucked, and our PK sucked.. there's a fine line between winning close ones and losing close ones... time to start wining in style again. tonight's game was simply unacceptable. they need to get some fresh guys back from injury and look forward to friday... not much positive can be drawn from a blown 3rd period lead...

drury played a shift and seemed ok... i almost got my first major sinking feeling of the season... luckily that's gone. great 2nd period, the sabres reestablished themselves and are beginning to run away with the chances. hopefully we can bury them in the 3rd.

drury looked to jam his ankle or knee falling over the defenseman... hope it's nothing structural!!

hopefully they come out and play back tot he basics... it seems as though the sabres thought they'd skate circles around these clowns... ottawa came to play tonight, so the sabres need to step it up. i'm not too worried. we get a minute of PP on fresh ice, hopefully we'll cash in. vanek and roy need some redemption after missing open nets in the 1st.

here's the conspiracy theory... did miller actually hurt himself sometime around that 3-0 shutout of the islanders? that was the demarcation of when his game began to slip... just a t hought. Either way, if miller is going to dress, i think he still needs to be the backup, just so that he hopefully has more rest for the weekend. soft goals or not, we beat the canes by 3 goals. start biron tonight, miller on friday and saturday

7:00pm Well, as of right now, miller, lydman and afinogenov are playing, due to the fact that their three amerks replacements were reassigned yesterday. If i were a betting man, i'd say that miller will back up biron, lydman will be a game time decision, and stafford or paille will be recalled for afinogenov sometime today. If lydman wakes up in the next 20 minutes and realizes that he can't go, card will come up, if he goes to the pregame skate and then decides not to play, we'll just roll 5 defensemen. That brings me to my next point... at this time of the year, paetsch is a huge upgrade over rory fitzpatrick from last year... I love the amerks! ok, back to the game... on monday we got our offensive mojo back... tonight we get our defensive mojo back. buffalo 3 ottawa 1. marty stands on his head because tonight's going to be his last start for a while.
