  1. Sure looked like Sheary was being showcased a bit today.
  2. My first concern is that this is going to make him even more gun-shy as he approaches the deadline. My second concern is that his bosses may not even find out about this series of events. Who is going to tell them? Is Kim Pegula plugged in to the hockey transaction wire? I don’t know if the owners have any organizational process for vetting and evaluating these types of resource-allocation decisions. They generally don’t seem the slightest bit attuned to what’s going on with the organization other than wins and losses and the occasional media embarrassment which they then quickly react to. They don’t have a Czar feeding them real-time information about operations or the performance of their GM. So barring some kind of TBN hit piece citing this trade as a sign of organizational ineptitude, I’m not sure there will be any ramifications. All this is to say - I live in Knicks country and I can honestly say that the Buffalo Sabres are probably the most poorly-run franchise in all of professional sports.
  3. No goals to show for it but possibly the best period of Sabres hockey all season.
  4. Thank you. Some folks here are starting to sound like freakin' Pol Pot: "Everyone associated with the tank must go, we must rid the building of the tank's stench." It's insane. ADD TALENT = WIN GAMES.
  5. Agree that they played hard, lack skill. Roster buildout has failed.
  6. Bogo routinely does some of the dumbest things you ever see on the ice. I can’t believe he exists.
  7. When did this become a thing to say?
  8. I’m sure when Skinner signed his extension he asked to be put on a line with ERod.
  9. And now Hutton’s fragile psyche collapses.
  10. Um, Veach and Reid were pretty darn sure of it. McBeane have done a solid job, that's true. But having both organizations trade away consecutive NHL Finals' MVP and the Super Bowl MVP - that is quite a look for Pegulaville.
  11. Considering the fact that McDermott was allowed to effectively trade away the Super Bowl MVP, the problem might be Botterill's bosses more than Botterill...
  12. Most likely, the Pegulas are going to give him a TON of rope to hang himself, in the form of a major offseason spending spree. Terry-fying.
  13. It's just not an organization that demands or expects excellence. The Pegulas seem content enough to own a sleepy backwater franchise. Their approach to the Bills seems different - maybe they're wary of being embarrassed among the NFL billionaires club.
  14. Eichel and Dahlin are two of the best passers in the NHL. Prove me wrong.
  15. I would do it if only to add pressure to Botterill - sharing an office with your potential replacement tends to increase performance.
  16. But it doesn't even matter if it was good or bad. Answering that question doesn't help us a lick today. It's like the internet was created for the purpose of endlessly debating unprovable, esoteric issues.
  17. Drink bleach? Petition the owner?
  18. What kind of product is this Terry??
  19. Agree that lights-out goaltending would've helped mask much of the stink.
  20. Cat was a last-minute throw-in in the O’Reilly trade. Man we got fleeced!
