  1. This group of players hates having to work hard. Within games, and within seasons, they are always chasing the point at which they can finally coast.
  2. I wouldn’t call it perfectionism I’d call it establishing The Standard and holding themselves accountable to it. Been long overdue.
  3. Consumer fraud. They are not trying to win.
  4. Adams is the Matt Millen of his era.
  5. I could be misremembering but my recall is that Quinn looked exactly like this (tentative and overmatched) his rookie year. He may be the type who needs to think it first and that means there will be stretches of plateaus (or even dips) before he finds the next level.
  6. They look like a playoff team to me - even in the loss. Just missing an elite scorer. Will they be buyers??
  7. Yeah I think it’s just wait @LGR4GM said upthread - he’s just not a good shooter. Has poor hands. Precision isn’t his game, he’s a chaos engine. Maybe ultimately he flips spots with McLeod and becomes a legendary 4th line center. That seems to be where his game is. Speak for yourself!
  8. I just don't spend money on the product. I'll watch (on ESPN+, which I have anyway) if I have time, but I don't go out of my way. It's consumer fraud.
  9. This is actually the most interesting thing that has happened with this team in several years.
  10. At first I seriously thought this was @PAsabresFan doing one of his bits 🤣🤣
  11. OMG if it means we never have to have another “was The Tank a mistake?” discussion than certainly yes. The Sabres are being run like a family-owned car dealership. They are scamming their customers with a fancy scoreboard aka the big red wind sock out front, and the occasional free stale donut. They are not even TRYING to win. Sell them, move them, I do not care. Just quit ripping me off.
  12. The league needs to pressure Terry to sell.
  13. Possibly the nicest, and most incompetent GM in all of professional sports.
  14. I mean fair, yes, it’s possible they are going to stop doing what they’ve been doing for multiple consecutive years and look like they’re doing again - it’s fair to wait and see - but I would posit that if that’s the case it would cost them very little strategic advantage and would potentially gain them very much fan goodwill to say something to that effect - “We have cap room so that we can be flexible during the season while we expect to be contending for a playoff spot” - instead of Adams’ mealy-mouthed “I’m given enough resources to win” refrain which is capable of multiple meanings.
  15. He has been blaming the fans for years, on both here and TSW, both Sabres and Bills fans. Maybe he directs his anger at the fans instead of the teams because he feels that it's something he has more control over/access to - there isn't a forum the owners and GMs peruse where you can direct your anger at them. I don't know. But it's always been his schtick, forever. It hasn't changed and there's ample record of it.
  16. If that is the case - the product is a fraud. I don’t understand how anyone pays to watch it. You’re being sold garbage.
  17. I think Krebs is exactly the kind of player Ruff can reach. I am taking the over.
  18. Accountability usually requires well-defined metrics of success - the obvious one being winning percentage. The Sabres have not prioritized winning the past few seasons so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they haven’t emphasized accountability, either.
  19. Interesting that both the Skinner and Diggs departures are being sold to the fans as "addition by subtraction" - both moves put more cash into Pegs' pocket for 2024. Something is up.
