I watched some of the Flames V Oilers Saturday - same feelings - envy and sadness that the Sabres haven't played in a game of that intensity in years. Also not sure they have it in 'em, otherwise I'd expect we'd have seen signs of it by now.

I watched some of their game Monday vs Caps. They looked messy, especially Kovalchuk. He looks like he doesn't know their system, running into his own guys, etc. Domi looked fast. Armia is back from injury and looks like a legit good player. Specific to Price - they posted his stats by month Nov, Dec, Jan, big upward trends in save %.

I'll meet you in the middle at 2nd line winger. Solid 40-50 points per year for his career thus far. I like his game - brains, hustle, and skills. Skinner is the problem and sadly we had to pay full price or would have lost him. They need to put him with Jack and be done with it.

I want to join this line of thinking, I really do. And I do think he's trying, but I don't think he is/was a born leader. He's elite talent and big ego, and work ethic, and wants to be the guy, but again that doesn't make him a leader. Drop the gloves, or throw a big hit, or get emotional on the bench in support of your teammates. Instead it's the woe-is-me body language back to the bench. And re: accountability - it's the turnovers (5th goal last night) and lazy back checks (improving there) I'm talking about. re: stuff - it's relationships with his teammates, building bonds. Of course I don't know if they are there or not, but based on the product on the ice I'm guessing not.

Bruins run 1 line tho right. And they have 35+34+19 points in 21 games and are in first place. The rest of the team is bunch of 1 -4 goal guys thus far. I think Skinner returning is worth a shot at this point. The next 9, please grind while our #1 rests up.
