  1. If anybody is wondering why Kevyn Adams still has a job consider this example: In the 2021 draft the Sabres selected Aleksandr Kisakov with the 53rd pick in the 2nd round. At 5'10" and 150 lbs it was an "impressive" selection. Well today Kisakov was cut loose by the Sabres who declined to qualify this RFA. On Sunday the Toronto Maple Leafs re-signed Matthew Knies to a six year contract with an AAV of $7.75 million per year. What makes this relevant is that Knies is 6'4" and about 230 lbs and he was drafted after Kisakov with the 57th pick of the 2021 draft. Kneis scored 29 goals this year for the Leafs. Now when Kevyn Adams says they want to be tougher to play against it makes me wonder why he passed on Knies and selected a 150 lb. nobody. If you add up all these Adams/Forton mistakes over the years, it is easy to see why they haven't made the playoffs for 14 years. Pegula loves him though!
  2. The question should be : Are the Sabres better than their opponents? Even if they improve, they have to be better than their competition. Many of them also improved. I still don't understand Adams logic. For years he drafted soft players and now all of a sudden he realizes the team needs to be tougher to play against. Maybe he should have thought of that in 2021 when he drafted two marshmallows in the first round: Power and Rosen. Or in 2022 when he drafted tiny Savoie and Östlund in round 1. In 2023 he drafted tiny Benson. I like Benson, but he doesn't scare anybody. The point is that the Sabres aren't hard to play against because of Adams' and Forton flawed drafts. However, they still haven't lost any of their arrogance despite failing.
  3. This trade is a confusing head scratcher for me. I could almost understand trading Clifton for Timmins, but then trading a 2nd round pick for an ECHL defenseman doesn't make sense. I think Pittsburgh got the better side of the trade for sure. Kevyn Adams is dumping salary successfully and Pegula seems fine with that.
  4. I was hoping for McQueen, but Mrtka has some potential. Check back in three years and I will say, "I told you so." about McQueen.
  5. Time for Quinn to contribute to the team. No more passengers needed!
  6. How would Sabres fans feel if the Sabres traded Mattias Samuelsson and Peyton Krebs to Utah for Logan Cooley or Dylan Guenther? If you said, "Heck ya!" then you know how Utah feels today. The Sabres invested $1.00 in Peterka and received about $0.72 in return. Hopefully, it will work out in the long term, but I am a little underwhelmed. I have no problem trading Peterka, but I hoped for a more significant return.
  7. Any system that allows a team to jump up 9 or 10 places is just plain dumb and unfair. Period.
  8. Does anybody remember the 2021 draft when the Sabres passed up Matthew Knies 6'3" 227 lbs. (who scored 29 goals for Toronto this year) and drafted Aleksandr Kisakov 5'10" 150 lbs. (who barely plays for the Amerks)? My point is that it doesn't matter where the Sabres pick, they will screw it up anyway. Kevyn Adams and Jerry Forton will probably still say that they like the pick! Maybe they can double down and pick another weak, undersized player? It took 5 years for these bozos to build the softest team in the league.
  9. Did you ever notice Kevyn Adams says he talks to Terry Pegula everyday? There's your problem. The owner should hire competent hockey people and then get the heck out of the way!!!
  10. Did anybody watch Bryson against the Flyers on 3/29/2025? I'm glad we locked him up :( Ugh!
  11. Kevyn Adams philosophy is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Let's bring back all the same players for the last place team in the conference and expect different results. Seriously??? This management is so tone deaf it is truly unbelievable.
  12. I just have a feeling that this trade won't end well for the Sabres. Why? If you look at recent history (the last ten years) it overwhelmingly favors the teams that trade with Buffalo. Without Gilbert, who's the toughest guy on the team now? If you have to think about it, you know the situation is bad. The softest team in the league just got a little softer. I know it's hard to believe this team can get any softer, but they did. Kevyn Adams is the "Charmin man" because his team is Squeezably Soft!!!
  13. Exactly right. Why do the Sabres need a skilled player with no grit or toughness who has no work ethic? They don't. He would be the cherry on top for Kevyn Adams disastrous term as GM. This is a horrible idea!!! Forget Petterson please.
  14. Are the Sabres going to lock up everybody to contracts who are on the current roster? It seems to me that if you have a team that is last in the conference you might not want to keep the same roster. Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results doesn't seem logical. Every couple of weeks Greenway has a good game. Kevyn Adams figured that was a bargain at $4 million per year. Rinse and repeat.
