  1. I just have a feeling that this trade won't end well for the Sabres. Why? If you look at recent history (the last ten years) it overwhelmingly favors the teams that trade with Buffalo. Without Gilbert, who's the toughest guy on the team now? If you have to think about it, you know the situation is bad. The softest team in the league just got a little softer. I know it's hard to believe this team can get any softer, but they did. Kevyn Adams is the "Charmin man" because his team is Squeezably Soft!!!
  2. Exactly right. Why do the Sabres need a skilled player with no grit or toughness who has no work ethic? They don't. He would be the cherry on top for Kevyn Adams disastrous term as GM. This is a horrible idea!!! Forget Petterson please.
  3. Are the Sabres going to lock up everybody to contracts who are on the current roster? It seems to me that if you have a team that is last in the conference you might not want to keep the same roster. Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results doesn't seem logical. Every couple of weeks Greenway has a good game. Kevyn Adams figured that was a bargain at $4 million per year. Rinse and repeat.
  4. It tells you a lot about the team when the only player with any balls is 5'9" and only 19 years old. Owen Power is huge and might be the softest player in the NHL. Pathetic! Where's the pride? How do these players look in the mirror?
  5. The Sabres could call up Isak Rosen from Rochester. He is the heavy body enforcer this team needs. I still remember Kevyn Adams and Jerry Forton raving about his skating and how he uses his edges so well. Is that what the Sabres need? Maybe they need some players who can handle themselves in the corners and in front of the net. If I watch Owen Power avoid all physical contact any more I'm going to go crazy. He's 6'6" and over 220 lbs. and he plays like an eight year old girl who's afraid of her own shadow. Clearly the GM's on this team have no freakin' idea what they are doing.
  6. Kevyn Adams said all the right things with Terry Pegula sitting right next to him. Jeez, you'll say anything with the boss right there. He said he wanted a team that was tougher to play against. Why didn't he do anything about it last year? It took Kevyn Adams a long time to figure out he assembled one of the softest teams in the NHL. I do like some of the additions, but he paid a very high price for a couple of the pieces. Savoie trade might come back to haunt him.
  7. Zegras would be a backward step for the Sabres. Necas would be a positive move. Go forward.
  8. I found it interesting that Benson was well below average in size, below average in speed, below average in the velocity of his shot, below average in shots on goal, and below average in speed bursts over 20 mph. He may be small, but he makes up for it in being slow. Just kidding? Ironically he beat out Savoie who is very fast, has a great burst and has an excellent shot. Obviously, Benson is young and has massive room for improvement. Hopefully, he becomes a significant player.
  9. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nhl/need-for-speed-fastest-sabres-skater-revealed/ar-BB1q5UJL The fastest 4 skaters on the team are new additions.
  10. In this offseason summary, the Oilers get Jeff Skinner and Matt Savoie from the Sabres and Buffalo gets Ryan McLeod and a bag of pucks and still has to pay Skinner a boatload of cash. Kevyn Adams worked his magic!
  11. I've read some analysis which states that the Sabres have too many of the same type of small skilled players who all fit the same mold and therefore Savoie was expendable. Well my question is: "Who in hell drafted all these players?" Who in the Sabres hierarchy kept pounding the table to draft all these undersized prospects? Jerry Forton? Kevyn Adams? The scouts? Somebody needs to be accountable for this strategic error in drafting. You can't trade away a top prospect and then say we have too many similar players so the top prospect is expendable. It reminds me of the story of the boy who kills both his parents and then asks the court for leniency because he is an orphan. This is what the Sabres brass is saying. We screwed up drafting and now we are admitting it. Is this how an organization builds a Stanley Cup winner? No. Kevyn Adams should fire the guy who drafted Savoie and fire the guy who traded him at a bargain price.
  12. Kevyn Adams wants to be harder to play against. LOL. Why did you draft so many tiny players over the last few years. Isak Rosen was a first round pick. What were the Sabres thinking? These errors are the fault of Terry Pegula and Kevyn Adams. How many years have to go by before KA realizes he's at fault.
  13. I think the fans should start asking, "Is this a legitimate Stanley Cup contender in Buffalo?" I don't think you get there shopping on the clearance rack or bargain bin.
  14. It feels like the rest of the league is feasting on meat and potatoes and the Sabres are fighting for the parsley garnish.
