Shootouts are a part of the regular season game. Lehner is terrible at them. Whether fans like it or not, those points on the table in shootout situations are critical. Lehner is also suspect along the posts from time to time. Personally, I don't view a 1 year deal as a "show me" deal. I view it as a stop gap measure. I'm of the opinion Botteril has something else in mind for goaltending down the road.

6x6 is what I'd prefer if we intend to re-sign him. Torn between keep or let go however. I am no fan of his publicized off ice issues but it does appear he's played low since last summer. Wonder if those around him have explained he was hurting his own value. Then there is the Pegula's commitment to "character". Is a redemption project in step with that? After all, it's not only the Pegula's looking at good character, but they've led by example in keeping that quality of character as one of their key expectations. It is based on this that I believe if Kane continues to lay low and produce, he will be re-signed. Kane, like Buffalo itself, can become a redemption story, and if championships are involved in the process, a story that we will be telling our grandchildren.

Yea, we can make the playoffs. Will we? That is up to the players and coaching staff. I'm hopeful Housely and staff institute a system that really lets the players strengths shine. But I have confidence the talent on this team can destroy any opponent in the league if they commit to doing so.

Spoke to a friend today about this cat. He's a long time Devils fan. He said this kid should be better than he is. Mentioned his skating but also said he disappoints a lot to. Really don't know what to make of this kid.

I saw him score a few of his goals, last player in on the rush. His speed is declining.

I'm not understanding the need for Middlestadt or Nylander anywhere near the big clubs organization this season or next. Clearly management stated proper development. Nylander, maybe (and merely a maybe) after another season in the AHL but I don't see Middlestadt anywhere near this roster for 2 years at least. Hell, Bailey, Baptists and Fasching probably only see 1 of 5them this season.

We just picked up a 4th liner, Jacob Josefson. There has to be a trade coming I would think. We are forward heavy now. Unless bots sticks all of the kids in Rochester and press boxes a couple. Anyone else see it this way?
