GDT: Montreal @ Buffalo, 700pm EDT, 10/05/2017

Need to see more chemistry on the lines. Not to sound like an alarmist, but Toronto looks fantastic. Scary actually. Buffalo, not so much. -
Nicolas Deslauriers traded to MON for Zach Redmond

Depth on D is always good. -
Just make the playoffs. That is what my expectational hope is.

GDT - Toronto @ Buffalo: 7pm, MSGB, WGR, 9/23/2017

They look terrible most of the time. A few flashes of chemistry but not much else. Hoping that changes with time. Gorges looks like retirement material. -
Not nearly as deep as RHS RW'ers Liger. And hi, finally nice to meet you. Read a great deal here, your posts are full of passion and often get myself to rethink my positions.Just looking to what if scenarios right now. I advocate only what I surmise may make the team better is all.
-
I do agree here, save this.....the pool is heavy RW'ers. I do believe Baptiste, Bailey and Fasching are NHL material. We have a pluthura of right handed shots at prospect wing positions. Moving 1 or 2 of them I do not believe would hinder our depth. I would of course prefer D or LW in return, just my vision of the situation is all.
-
Maybe. I don't honestly know who'd they want defensively. I do believe McCabe or Guhle are the logical answer though. Tough call honestly. Duchene presents an opportunity to solidify ROR and Okposo as a very solid second line. I think people tend to forget ROR is getting 7.50 mil a season, he will be given every opportunity to produce results that maximizes the return on that investment. And, just my opinion mind you, there is no denying the chemistry Duchene and ROR have shown. I was very impressed with them at the worlds. Duchene, in my judgement, is the right fit for this team. But at what cost?
-
I can't see the Avs wanting quantity again. Once Kane is gone Buffalo's LW left handed shot that can fly with Eichel is void for a bit. Is there a mesh for a larger deal? Landeskog and Duchene? That is what I'd be interested in. Duchene is 6 mil for 2 more seasons.
-
I'll surmise it's Duchene given A.) The Sabres need for an impact LW'er, B.) The knowns of both ROR's chemistry with Duchene both on and off the ice, in particular, ROR's line obvious need for an impact LW'er, and C.) The more than obvious Kane situation. Do they throw caution to the wind and cross their fingers and hope for the best, being reactive, or do they scout potential replacement talent at a reasonably affordable rate for another season beyond Kane's current contract, becoming pro-active? Color me crazy and call me pink, but something tells me Bots experience with the Penguins makes him a more pro-active manager.....min My opinion.

Thanks :) Don't know if Dater still has those strong connections in the Avs organization. But what I do know is Duchene and O'Reilly play well together. It showed at the worlds as well. Is there a chance? Who knows, but LW is a need to be sure, and Buffalo does have the ammo to pull off a deal.....so who knows...

Adrian DaterAdrian Dater @adater Scouts from Canucks, Canadiens, Ducks (two scouts), Blues, Flames, Devils and Sabres on hand for Avs, with Duchene in lineup
-
Buffalo reportedly scouting Duchene. LW is going to be a need I suspect. 2 s3asons at 6 mil left on his deal. Would be a good move in my opinion.

Gdt Preseason game 2 Penguins vs Sabres 9/19/2017. 7PM
Scottysabres replied to spndnchz's topic in The Aud Club
So Pommers was the missing link on an Eichel line? Who knew :D Didn't get a chance to listen to the game, where is Reinhart playing? -
I'm looking at a longer timeline than just the past 17 years. There is a bit of a cycle time wise, but it just seems like more of them are seeing landfall.
-
I rode out Hugo out to sea. Was stationed on the Pegasus, a hydro plane in key west during Andrew. Showed up as a support team member post Katrina. Glad all are safe, but the Hurricanes are definitely growing more numerous in intensity. Not so much the amount of storms, but the landfall amounts.

I've read the main page for years. I believe SDS is site founder? If so, just outstanding format work. I've been reading the Aud threads for 3, 4 years. A great deal of information about my Sabres I get from the forums. I can remember, as a young kid of 6 to 12 years old (76 to 82) I kept folders of each sabres player, goals, assists, games played and which opponents each player had an assist or goal against. Like Pegula, my hero is Gilbert Perreault. But as time went on, so to were Lafontaine, Molginy, Hasek, Drury, Briere. I've TV watched a ton of seasons, from a long time ago. To long. But I've only been to a handful of games over all those years. That is changing. I like this conversation arena. It not only allows me to talk hockey, but I'll have people to share my experiences with. That means a great deal. Go Sabres!

Just got back from camp. Watkins and Darby for replacements and picks......looks decent.
-
Shoots left. We are weak at left handed shot on left wing. I would be interested in a Reinhart for Duchene swap.

Explain to me the hesitancy on Robin Lehner
Scottysabres replied to Meathead's topic in The Aud Club
I don't agree. With how many close games there are in the NHL, teams need to be able to rely on their netminder to take a few points. And that's across the board not just bubble teams. It builds confidence within the roater imo. -

Scottysabres replied to Meathead's topic in The Aud Club
I can't explain Jbots, but as for myself Lehner is getting a shot to show. My question is what is the plan following this season if Lehner isn't in the longer term plans. -
Thanks Tom, I responded in kind.
-
Slightly pricy imo. I expected 2 x 3, got 2.4 x 2. Not great, but not bad.
-
Sure, why not. Never hurts to have a look.

Bots said team needs to get faster. Rod has some speed. The 2way/1way deal leaves room to slide some of the other kids in and out of the line up if necessary this season.
