:D Guhle will supplant him next season anyways. Girgs a casualty of need for Pitt. I'd re-sign Cole, I like his heavy game. Let Hagelin and Sheary ride out their contracts while ELC's and low cost bridge contracts run along the same time frame. Hey, I'd pawn Bogo if I knew they'd take him. Or Pommers for that matter.

What do you believe it would take to acquire Patches?

I think he should wear #17

It's obvious, someone showed him the comments in his Sabrespace thread.......

Sprong called up today for Pittsburgh. Showcasing? Maybe But its clear Sheary (2yrs left @ 3m) and Hagilin (1yr left @ 4m) are under performing, and have been for some time now. Combine that with the rumors about Cole (UFA 2.10m), Letang (4yrs @ 7.25m) and JR threatening he's considering a major shake up, especially with a potential 3rd cup run now in what appears to be some mid-season trouble, especially given Geno's and Sid's window is right now, I can see a deal with Buffalo for Kane and some other components being very possible. So in essence, Hagilin, Sheary, Cole, Letang and perhaps Sprong and Pittsburgh's 1st or 2nd could all be on the table. Given the possibilities with all the variables in potential play on the Pittsburgh, I'm paying attention to the scouting seats at Pitt games. In the mean time, no harm in trying to play arm chair GM for a few days, discuss.

Canada vs USA: WJC Outdoor Game, 3:00pm EDT. 12-29-2017
Scottysabres replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
What a game. Froze our ass's off but man, was it worth it. There was a large group of Canadians all around us, great folks, great hockey fans. After USA's 2nd goal, one guy said "every time that Middlestadt touches the puck it scares me. He's just that good". A number of the Canadian fans around us were Toronto fans. They were all saying how scary it was that Buffalo has this young talent. They were even talking about our Swedish players with praise and envy. It felt good. Oh, and Casey, yea, he's something special. Go Sabres!!! -
I wouldn't mind re-uniting Reinhart with Duclair and Domi. They had solid chemistry as a line at their wjc appearance.

Sabres Lines: 12-21-2017; Girgs Gets a Shot
Scottysabres replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Tweaking the lines sure. But the 1 year contracts of Pouliot and Josefson kind of said gap fillers for this season. The Okposo situation this past off season I can see as a reason for him to need time to ramp up. But the most concerning situations are ROR, Girgensons and Reinhart. All have digressed severely this season and that impact is huge imo. And that's just the forward ranks, the defense appears to be a core talent issue. Combine that with untimely inconsistencies in late game netminding from time to time and we can see why the team is severely faltering imo. Sorry, I know its depressing. I just can't help but chuckle when it comes to blaming the coach. How many coaches in a row are we going to throw under the bus before we turn to the players and say, "hmmmm, so and so is better than this talent wise. We know so because we've seen so. WTF is wrong with them"? -

Not to single you out, but.....I chuckle every time I see a post like this. Phil has tried multiple line combos multiple times. I hardly believe he's panicking. Management and the coaching staff are well aware what they have in the players roster wise. Panicking.....lol -
Sabres Just Stink At Drafting Good Players
Scottysabres replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
Oh its not an excuse. They really are bad. Look at the win lose column, the plus minus, the corsi numbers, the time in defensive some scoring chances, the power play ranking. There is nothing lazy about calling an egg an egg. -
Sabres Just Stink At Drafting Good Players
Scottysabres replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
And here in lay the truth. The roster is a bit different, but let's not turn a blind eye to the fact that ROR, Reinhart, Larsson, Girgensons, Eichel and Okposo are all severely under performing from the start of this season. That is not coincidence. Leadership, not only from an on the ice point of view, but coaching and yes, even the GM's office, is severely absent. It all com3s down to holding each other, from management down to the staff and players accountable for lackluster play. Bots is formulating his plan, Housley is implementing his system, but the players must turn their competitive motors on. -

Game Discussion Thread Carolina at Buffalo Dec. 15, 2017, 7pm, MSG

Just got home. What an adventure. Eichal with the hatty, the place was some what empty, but the funniest thing, my brother blew a tire as he was going up the on ramp of the 190. No spare, triple a and tow services busy beyond belief, he rode the rim up Niagara until the rubber finally flew off in front of the Roost. Great time, picked up a Risto winter classic jersey for the Mrs. First time I ever wore a jersey to a game. Reebok/Adidas Eichel home jersey. Had such fun. Win, lose, didn't matter, another memory with family, that is what its about for me. -

:D I was young, and barely remember.......the 70's broad street bullies. The cup run with tHe French Connection, Lorenz knocking that bat out of the air and the fog game. Philly and Buffalo used to have such a rivalry, now its just another opponent on the schedule. How depressing.....m -
Keep Kane, trade Kane.....doesn't matter to me much save this, Buffalo isn't going to spend another 6+ million a season on a 1 dimensional 2nd line LW'er imo. Bots will be looking for a dynamic winger to compliment Eichel imo, and Kane has whiffed on what? 15 or so great feeds from Eichel so far this season? Many of which could have potentially shifted the momentum in 6 to 8 games? Those points matter, Kane is not the answer and You let and Bots are well aware of this in my opinion.

Lehner: Mediocre or the Goalie of the Future?
Scottysabres replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Mediocre goalie of the future? Is that an option? If so I vote that. -
I would add Guhle. Risto....the right hand thing, but, if a consensus is Risto, I'd still do it.
