Gearing up for Saturday, today may be the day, but work Friday for many had me push my annual Up Yours King George Day Celebration to Saturday. Every year is an enlarged theme for the event. This year, I am making the Assembly Room, Independence Hall. 13 tables, situated historically as the room was on July 2nd, 1776. 13 Emerald green table cloths, 13 1776 dual quill inkwells (the ones currently in Assembly Room are the French ones for the Constitution), 13 candle holders and sticks, 13 regulation size copies of the Declaration of Independence. Later in the day, I will dress in my George Washington costume, 2 of my party attendees will dress as continental soldiers, I will be holding the Bettsy Ross flag as we row across the lake delivering much needed Patron and Bourbon Supplies to are brethren neighbors guarding the other bank of the lake. Then, as dusk settles, I will bring out the speakers, as the entire lake residents grow hush as they are now accustomed to my routine, and I play Max McLean's reading of the Declaration of Independence. Immediately at the end of his reading, a will fire a volley of eight 6" mortars and will continue the bombardment for near 2 hours!!!!

Maybe, but I don't believe he is done. As you and others have pointed out, he was in talks to acquire a top 6 player. He didn't magically turn that off, no GM ever does in my opinion. Based on that, I do not believe he is done.

I do have fa8th in Lindy, and my tune never changes, my smart-assery knows no bounds. Smile more in life, even in hockey hell, life's to short not to.

We have a long ways to go in the off season yet. If (yes, if) Adams is going to swing a deal, let's at least wait a month or 2 before grabbing the pitchforks and torches. I'm not so much focused on a deal getting done, I'm interested to see the price "if" he swings a deal in that time. Like many, I suspect we aren't going to be fond of the assets out. My interest is piqued however at what is coming in......again, "if" he closes a deal. But that's neither here nor there for now, the reason I chuckle is because there is plenty of time to make a trade. Unlike July 1 FA, trades aren't on such a narrowed timeline. I know we here it time and again, but patience, like I said, we can start gathering and chanting off with his head in a couple months.

What really gets me laughing shrader is that we all knew a trade was going to be the way to address the top 6 need, and the panick 3 days in to FA has me near splitting a gut laughing 🤣. Personally, I think what Adams did with the bottom 6 was right on the money.

I have 0 doubts Lindy Ruff will get this team in to the playoffs.

Yes my spelling a grammar is not perfection. If you can't cut a 53 yr old, puggy, hard charging in his youth hockey fanatic a bit of slack.......well, you'd think some of you were fans of a beloved NHL franchise that hasn't seen the playoffs in a dozen + years or something...... 😜 And for those in any type of off season panic with the moves made by GMKA, I leave you with this..... Sabres go deep in the playoffs, challenging for a Cup Run!!!! 😜

Thank you SDS. I agree, we don't lack for players that can pot the puck. I like what Kyven has done so far anyways. We got some needed grit. I don't understand all the fuss as many of us were frustrated we didn't have it. I think the team will be better. My only real question is why the Skinner buyout now. I mean, honestly, I don't think Kyven is done, he freed up cap space. I was busy last night reviewing potential trade targets.

I think a trade happens, I don't think it will be for a pure center, more likely a 2nd/3rd line tweener winger.

Has anyone stopped to think on how much lip Skinner took from players on other teams? It didn't appear he was well liked in game league wide, maybe, just maybe, jettisoning Skinner is a part of a strategy to prepare the environment.......just spiffballing

Did Sabres GM Kyven Adams just troll the Sabres fan base? The same fan base that has endured 13 seasons of un-surpassed hockey suffering? Is that just what happened here?

I know, we all are, or at l3ast most of us....(except that PA, he's always rainbows and sun rays for some reason). But I think these are acquisitions in the right direction. Let's see how the off season plays out.
