  1. This is a great 'demo' for Hammy. Don't know who watches local news anymore - other than say my parents....#boomergeneration
  2. But was he really fired? Offically yes. But his contract was up on June 30th. AHL uncertainty, reportedly a very expensive salary comparatively, results in Playoffs mentioned above and little hopes of pulling a Sheldon Keefe as ownership seems happy with RaKru. Let's say he was negotiating a 15-20% raise with JB before this went down. If there is a strong chance the AHL season is cancelled, what is the impetus for his extension? I'd like to know how many of those scouts contracts were also up on 6/30. That might help explain why the bloodletting was so deep.
  3. agree - extremely disappointing if that was the case. So let's assume Adams decides to effectively use the analytics department, independent of what he or his scouts, or coaching staff suggest. In addition to this, if Adams is open to drafting OHL/QMJHL, and is not beholden to players like Hutton (b/c he signed him) or Mitts (b/c he drafted him), leverages the uncertainty of the 20-21 season to kick the can down the road on some RFA's, and most importantly capitalize via trade with teams that need to move salary to remain under the cap, to help secure a veteran top 6 forward (s), why is our situation not better than it was a few weeks ago? Granted the last one is not easy. We all hear about rookie/inexperienced GM's crushed in trade negotiations and this could be concerning. Hopefully the cap situation will factor in to level out that inexperience.
  4. Seems to improve this band name, not ruin it. Do these exist? Asking for a friend.
  5. The other interesting comment was on Rick Dudley. That should excite a few SabreSpacers.
  6. I agree so many juicy tidbits which we don’t get from local media. For me one takeaway was that agents were negotiating with Botterill as recently as a few days ago. Then silence. So maybe there was a “pitch” by JB of how to improve this offseason which was met with resistance. Maybe his vision including keeping players like Carter Hutton and others we’re not in the plans of Kruger or Adams. Maybe Adams who has no obligations or attachments to certain players recommended moving on a player such as Mitts. I also found it interesting that Adams traveled with the team on a road trip which raised eyebrows amongst the insiders. Very worthwhile. Thanks @Brawndo.
  7. Nice source. They were right, that's kind of a big announcement.
  8. I love a good conspiracy theory and this one is solid. @john wawrow please validate how this story got out. All is forgiven if you can get to the J-bottom of this.
  9. You won. I cannot think of a better way to ruin a bands name.
  10. Mrs. Mister Salt-R-Peppa Sad Company And these two in honor of inky.. wang hung A-Ho
  11. While I can appreciate Dudacek’s cogent arguments and reseaons for bringing this wonderful thread back from the dead, I must admit I would love to see more from Perrault, Ligr and PI. Their debates on TPRMs and Reinharts soft play around the boards, first man off the ice, etc. It’s like catnip during this Covid crisis. I implore you PI, come back. Stand up and deliver a bevy of reasons why an advantageous cap scenario is still not cause to resign Sam. Let’s get this party started.
  12. Gov’t Mute Joe Cocked Spirit of the Vest Tone Lou Adam Can’t (technically letter and punctuation) What? (Also letter and punctuation)
  13. Maybe Hutton's agent leaked the story to Lance, knowing that Carters at risk of getting his contract bought out. Maybe getting the story out there helps with interest from other teams if he is let go. Now this would imply that JB has the nuts to actually use one of the tools in his GM belt, which he probably will not.
  14. So he’s either a POS spoiled rich kid undeserving of his fathers love and time, or Kim is so psychologically unhealthy and has engaged in a systemic alienation of Terrance from his children of a previous marriage, thereby ensuring her own blood maintains their rights to the kingdom of Buffalo. Which one is it?
  15. I agree with the sentiment of the bold but SanDiego is not an example to use. The Spanos family is regretting this move now and they haven’t even played one game in their new luxury building. It cost them $550 million to move and they seemingly have lost far more fans than they have gained in LA. San Diego never had great support for the team. The county has over 3 million people and could barely fill a stadium (leagues smallest) of 50k seats. And half of those seats were opposing fans. I’ve seen the Bills play San Diego many times and it’s a neutral field. It’s a ***** home game for the Pats and Steelers. Buffalo and the Sabres share a symbiotic relationship. They need each other for reasons shared by @thewookie1. The cities of San Diego and Oakland didn’t need their franchises. Buffalo needs the Sabres. Ratings, polls for county taxes to pay for new stadiums confirmed this. Not saying it could never happen, only that a different set of circumstances have to play out before it would.
  16. I'm curious why Lance left out the fact that Lazar had the lowest actual PP Goals against per 60 minutes (outside Vlad in only 16 games played), yet he chose to call him out for having the worst "expected" goals against per 60 based on Evolving stats. I saw Larson and Asplund as pleasant surprises on an overall bad PK. The quality against is always going to be less when you play the second minute. Goals count the same. And he lined up against the players the other team put out on the ice. I still think RFK needed to make a coaching change. I also believe a Peitrangelo or D. Byf as top line Defender would add the proper ingredient to our PK.
  17. In a NY minute. However no way Calgary goes for that. I think it has to be Sam getting moved if Monahan is in the conversation. Risto might still get you Ehlers as Winnipeg is desperate for defenders. And Nikolaj could add scoring to Line#1 or 2 RW. So question is would you trade Mitts, Risto, Reinhart and a second for Monahan, Bennett and Ehlers?
  18. ....back on the Horse, Smack, White Palace, the Chinamans nightcap. Hilarious. Thanks for posting.
  19. @inkman You might want to patent the phrase and where instead of adding "in bed" to the end of Chines Fortune cookie, you add.....'With your fly down'. Some examples below: Don’t pursue happiness – create it.....with your fly down. Nothing is impossible to a willing heart.....with your fly down. Big journeys begin with a single step......with your fly down. Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still.......with your fly down. Your road to glory will be rocky, but fulfilling......with your fly down. The best way to get rid of an enemy is to make a friend.....with your fly down.
  20. Had no idea you were the inspiration for 'Scent of a Woman'. "Hoo-ah"
  21. I stuck around to see the commentary about the Sabres. Last segment. The relative tightness of each teams T-shirt made the intolerable more tolerable.
  22. ...also on Cap friendly. If an 18/19 year plays more than 11 games in the year he signs the ELA, then waivers exempt years moves to 3. It suggests his waiver exempt status expires three years from the 2017 season which is 20/21, or next season (considering we are still in 2019/2020). edit - he played 41 games in 2017.
  23. Cap friendly says it begins 2020/21. His three year or 160 begins 2017/18 season.
