  1. Samuelsson has value. If you retain $750k for the remaining 5 you would get something in return. Especially from Philly. And then you save the other 5 years of a dead cap of $700k. The buyout is 10 years dead cap. Same with Clifton. If you retain 25% you get $2.5m in space even if the return is low draft capital. Bridge both Peterka and Quinn, and go to arbitration with Byrum and trade Power. That frees up ~$14.5. JJP - $3.9m *2. Quinn go to arbitration- what could he possibly get? $2m? Arbitration for Byrum as well. McLeod is 4*$4.5. That’s $16 leaving you with $23 in cap space for traded players or UFA. A qualified GM who could spend to the cap could subtract and add. Ours fail basic math literacy.
  2. Was this out there in the Buffalo News? He made it sound matter of fact, which if it’s true only adds to my hated for Adams. I can’t recall hearing this other than speculation.
  3. Fair. But also not puck moving. Hybrid. I still offered three others in each of the previous GM administrations. My larger point is we started the experiment in 2019, and it only seems to have gained momentum under Adam’s. I would qualify Ras as hybrid today.
  4. Even during the Housley era the Sabres D iced three stay at home D. Zack Bogo, Risto, Scandella and McCabe. The 2019 roster has Scandella (traded in season), Risto, McCabe and Colin Miller. After trades they started to change the pairings where two puck moving D played together. 2020- Montour, Pilut, Joki, Bryson, Dahlin (who as a young D would only qualify as puck moving). Samuelson as a rookie was considered stay at home but still weak and undeveloped.
  5. The Herlihy Boy played by UPL - Please let me mind your goal. You don’t have anyone better. Please let me tend your net. Farley played by Promo - You vicious bastards, let the boy tend your goal. For the love of God, just let the boy play net.
  6. My votes as well. In same order.
  7. Of course the injury plays into equation of why it was a failure. The Bills committed $52m guaranteed and $120m/6 total which if you look at both the value we received in three years. He had 14 total sacks, 41 tackles, only one forced fumble and an avg 12/17 games played. If we couple this with his off the field issues and now the dead cap issues they face ($15.4m- b/c the cap numbers in 2022/23 were so low), the concept of Von Miller was bad. It was a home run swing (my Reggie analogy) to win a Superbowl and resulted in an epic strikeout. This signing is a much lower risk/prove it deal with no cap consequences. Bosa’s risk of injury is far greater than when Von arrived in ‘22 (although Von did have an ACL in Denver years before), but the exposure is also very low. I mean $12.5m in 2025 cap is 4.4% vs what Von was getting - $17m annualized) was over 8% of the 2022 Cap. So half and no long term risk. ** But still, like Miller, the highest bidder.
  8. Just in case someone thought Bosa took a discount to play for the Bills. I hope this DE works out b/c Miller was a big swing and miss. Like Reggie circa 1978 falling in the batters box. https://www.si.com/nfl/how-the-bills-beat-49ers-dolphins-to-land-joey-bosa
  9. Overall skating well. Tuch/ Thompson playing well tonight. Yet when on a PP it falls apart. Unexplainable.
  10. Should have been the target over Krebs.
  11. St. John Baptist de La Salle
  12. The return was underwhelming right? A conditional 2nd in 2027. Considering some of the other deals the Bruins made. They got a haul for Coyle. Which I thought was an overpay by the Avs. I know he has term and Brad is a true rental but I cannot reconcile the gap. And the Carlo deal had a good return too. Again, some term (2 years) but a good prospect and a first.
  13. https://www.audacy.com/podcast/schopp-and-bulldog-dcf5d Adam's presser starts around the 1:15 mark. One of the lamest comments that speaks volumes about Adams is when Harrington asked about the conversation in Montreal. He avoids directly answering the question and instead says "What Terry said was impressive". That's what you're going with Kev? Impressive? Impressive was how the Canadians destroyed your team that night immediately after speaking to them. Impressive was losing three more games in a row after that speech, all to divisional opponents. Impressive is how you still have a job and more so, were allowed to make a hockey trade today. Also asked about having room for UFA's this summer or being a Cap team - and he said it was a possibility or they could be. First mentioning how they just took on cap with the Norris trade... checks notes - they also dumped Joki's salary, so the net savings was $3M. Adams goes on to mention that while the "narrative" is we have too many Entry Level Contracts (b/c you do and Ferraro called you on the carpet last night on ESPN about it), those ELC's will "jump up pretty fast". If the answer is to bring back Quinn, Byrum, JJP and McLeod then let's just save ourselves the time and pain and call it 15 years of suffering. And the projected space is $24M (including the $4.4M for Skinner's buyout). I don't see those 4 being $24M. I'm good with a change of scenery trade. Possible the 2026 2nd isn't going to be in the top 35 overall. Maybe the Sabres get lucky in the Draft lottery and pull a top-flight Center for the future and maybe Norris stays healthy and the scoring continues to grow. But this guy is a f*cking MUPPET. No way he could even get an assistant GM position anywhere in the League if Terry sold the team and he's out on the street.
  14. Did you know or was this your best Carnac the Magnificent? Nice!
  15. Ferraro also called out Adams roster construction saying you can’t continue to be the youngest team in the League year after year and expect better results. They even had a graphic with the youngest players/ages so it was definitely scripted.
  16. And third in the League 5v5 goals for. Only 4 behind the Caps for first with one game in hand. https://moneypuck.com/teams.htm It’s also refreshing to see you acknowledge the Sabes offense is better this year without Mitts. 😉
  17. Percent of cap over next two years is about the same as where he is today at $3.5m. So it’s like a COLA. Oft injured but moments of above average play. PK numbers are obvi…. And he is a grown ass man. Not a child. That is a plus plus in itself.
  18. I searched a few articles on LeChance after you posted, and seems like a guy you might want to speculate if all you have to do is retain salary. Maybe EDM had no shot of signing him, but 6-5, third leading scorer for BU, Captain as a sophomore and solid pedigree (father played in NHL on top of the maternal grandfather as you note) seems like just the type of kid you want developing on the farm. Does Adams even get a call to option or do they bypass, cause Terry?
  19. Footnote - Sabres have BEST plus/minus in first period, Sharks have absolute worst first period +| - . Seems like our boys are giving up early this year.
  20. Yes, but he has commented all game about the poor defensive play by the Sabres in their own end. Especially allowing the Canadians top line to get behind the D multiple times. This Montreal team is not impressive outside of Caufield’s shot. Can’t understand how the Sabres struggle against them. Zero for three if they don’t remove head from ass in the next 20 minutes.
