Interesting lines this evening. Ruff gave Krebs and Cozens equal time with Zucker and Tuch. Playing 7 D-men throws a wrench in your lines but interesting nonetheless. And surprisingly the line was better with Cozens. Broken clock? When Tage is back, I’d like to see him go back to 1C with JJP and Tuch. McCleod given a shot at 2C (not just in minutes) - with Zuck and Kulich. Cozens with Benson and Quinn, and Krebs back on the 4th.

Agree with all of it. On Quinn, I saw him make a play I have not seen all season. I think Buffalo was on the power play, loose puck in the O-zone and Quinn put an open ice hit on a Blue Jacket player. Now it lead to a contested 2-1 the other way and Reiner was true. Had they scored it might have been perceived differently- like he should have been passive and abandoned the play to get back on D. But he didn’t. My initial thought was that he had to put something on tape for Ruff to see, showing aggression and not passivity, which is what we see all too often. In my opinion, he is the biggest disappointment on this roster. Even more so than Power.

Mule, Cozens and Power have the same problem. There is no incentive for them to play hard. The money is guaranteed. If they can show improvement at the end of the agreements, there will be another contract waiting. Get rid of them all.

The type of player the Sabres NEED is one who will be overvalued at the deadline. If moves are made, it’s likely b/c Greenway/Zucker are not signed and the offers are too much to pass up. If I’m Zucker agent the price is close to unreasonable. Why not. Doe’s Clifton hold value? He’s been a healthy scratch. He has another year and would be good to move him off the books if they are going in a different direction on D next year. Seems like you could eke out some value now.
