  1. They need at least three guys who want to throw both fists and bodies. One can be your 13th forward who plays when needed. Another forward who can be added to a middle six line and not be a liability. And the third is a defenseman who can clear the front of the net, and drop the gloves on occasion. For me, the target for the forward is Rempe from the Rangers. NY has a dire cap situation this year and is in need of younger skill players to develop. Rempe got a bad reputation for some questionable hits and fighting far too frequently early on. He is 6-9 and only 22 years old. If there is any chance that his curve is like Tage, he grows into his body in two years. If you watch Rempe he’s taken off the puck quite easily by veteran players who understand leverage. But again he is only 22. This guy could be Wilson with 20 goals and 20 assists after he figures things out. Maybe Rayzer could help him develop his technique. Who does it take to pry away Rempe? If you take Kreiders $6.5 aav as a cap dump, how much does it go down?
  2. There are 14 Stations of the Cross. The 14th is ‘Jesus is placed in the tomb’. It’s the last and final station, as we allow know happens three days later. “Jesus saves…Perreault rebounds and scores”.
  3. Watching the Yankees vs Pirates this morning and Michael Kay spent a half inning on fan frustrations in Pittsburg. Before their home opener on Friday vs NYY there was a plane circling the stadium with a banner reading “sell the team bob” and players and the manager were bood soundly. Kay went on the say it’s unacceptable to not put great talent around Skemes and some of the younger stars. Citing decisions by their GM to not sign a UFA to a multi year deal since 2016. Then goes on to talk about the success of the other franchise's in Pittsburgh (Steelers, the Penguins -albeit not the last few years) and then makes a parallel to similar city (I assume equally absent of palm trees and relative in taxes) with success in the American League in the Guardians. So reminiscent of the Sabres dilemma. The success of the Bills, Bandits and Winnipeg. The similar lack of spending and caliber of supporting cast as a supplement to the home grown talent. The Pittsburgh fan base seems to be done with it after missing the playoffs for only the last 10 years. (Very few can lay claim to describing a 10 year playoff drought as “only”). Kay didn’t call out the owner, GM and Management staff by name but did lay blame indirectly. It just further confirms what we all feel about our ownership and GM. I’ll be following the Pirates attendance throughout the year to see how it correlates to this seasons w/l record and previous years attendance. Regardless of the fact the Bruins make be in a soft tank, let’s put the screws to that city/team. Hate the Bruins. How about an 8 spot? Östlund gets his first goal.
  4. Is he coming back or is he earning himself a backup role on a much better team?
  5. Bad decision by Quinn. JJP was open if he would’ve just returned the pass immediately
  6. You can justify a purchase by the fact that you are not adding incremental revenue to the Sabres or Pegula if you buy the tickets on the secondary market. You are only helping another Sabres fan recoup potential loss for their unwillingness or availability to go themselves. You can boycott at the concession stand or at the team store if you want but do not disappoint your child.
  7. A little humor courtesy of Chat GPT, not my own. This is Bill Pullmans speech from Independence Day with the subject changed to the topic of Tariffs. Today, we stand not on the brink of annihilation, but on the verge of economic rebirth. For too long, our industries have been under siege, our workers forgotten, our markets flooded. But today—today, we declare our economic independence! We will not go quietly into the shadows of global exploitation! We will not vanish under the weight of unfair trade deals! We will fight for every steelworker, every farmer, every small business that has been pushed aside. Today, we reaffirm what makes this country great—its resilience, its determination, its unwavering spirit. This is not just another day. This is the day we reclaim our sovereignty! This is the day we stand up and say, “No more!” This is our Liberation Day! Not sure what happens but as LGR mentions above, stagflation is most likely. I feel sad I’m making money off this nonsense but in the Supply Chain industry it’s crazy right now. My biggest opportunities are global customers who have leveraged our US based warehouses to fulfill into Canada. But after Don-John chased away a little loophole known as Drawback, we are inundated with customers clamoring for space in our Canadian warehouse and FTZ’s. Drawback was a way to recoup the cost of the duties and taxes if delivered to the US then shipped to another country. It ended in February. So now any goods brought to the US for distribution and then exported still requires the tariffs to be paid. A simple cost benefit shows that incremental costs to ship directly to Canada and higher fees for warehousing in Ontario and avoiding 10, 20, 34 and 48% (Vietnam) tariffs makes way more sense. DJT could arbitrarily end these while these customers are in the middle of implementing changes. Or if you stay on the sidelines too long, there might be no space or much higher costs due to demand and you could be out millions of dollars in taxes that could have been avoided. Ocean, Warehousing and Transportation is boring AF, but lately it’s got some juice. For my US warehouses, losing the Export business coupled with higher prices on products manufactured in Asia means fewer blue collar workers to receive and ship. Recession seems almost unavoidable if they are not lifted.
  8. I want them to win, but it might not make a difference. They might try and still finish bottom 3/4. Schedule is brutal.
  9. You speak German? Your not convincing me that your not ‘AI’ Brawndo.
  10. Live look at UPL He’s the Gazelle. The cheetah is the Flyers shot.
  11. Ray says they are in good spot going into the third….checks notes, Sabres third least behind SJS and Blackhawks in third period comebacks. You’re down Razor.
  12. Bernard-Docker - getting the gloves up to close the first. Little things. Playing for a job. Maybe the trade is a wake up call for him and the effort grows each day.
  13. Seems like he misses the net way too much right. Love to see a stat that shows %of attempts are on goal and another that measures percentage of goals against the attempts. When you look at Tuch he has 17% shot percentage but the denominator is shots on goal. How many like this break away never get counted as a shot on goal b/c it’s wide.
  14. On the first goal, don’t you have to recognize the man with the puck is a sniper? Maybe the better option is to challenge him and take a chance with UPL?
  15. Agree on both accounts. My parents' anecdotal data suggest that Trader Joe's (I guess a lot of Canadians love this store and make the trek over to shop there) and the Niagara Falls outlet stores are seeing a lot less traffic from North of the border. Not isolated to a Leaf/Sens game, what is the average attendance to a home game in Buffalo by Canadian citizens? Ball-park - 2,000? And what could this slip to in the fall if things progress the way they are now? I've seen stats that suggest YTD estimates for Buffalo Oct-Dec 2024 were 15,772, and December had some awful individual games in the 13/14K range during/after the streak when many were focused on the Bills. If Adams is brought back, coupled with Geopolitics/border issues, the attendance call fall below 14,500..
  16. Live look at promo in his defense of UPL. It’s titled, “One against many”.
  17. My observation had nothing but good intent. Every cause needs a voice.
