I was thinking it might be a good time to visit China...

I'm sure most are aware or it may not affect you directly but be cognizant of border restrictions in the works.

It will be interesting to see whether their critically endangered status is helped or hindered by all of this. If anyone is interested, National Geographic had a series of articles about pangolins within the last year.

The Sabres did something?! I'll have to hit pause on my silent meditation in case something else happens.

I haven't watched wrestling since I was about 10 but this no fan attendance thing is weird AF and makes wrestling look even creepier than it normally looks to me.

What's up with these rheumatoid arthritis medications? Sounds like two of them are being used in high risk or severe cases? I get that an actual vaccine might take a while but it sounds like there is also a focus on medications to deal with those already infected? I get that those of you in the medical field don't have time for these questions so I'm hoping at least someone like Tondas can entertain me with a witty response.

Good luck to you and your family. If it is it hopefully it only ends up being on the mild side of the spectrum.

I believe viruses need hosts to survive. I would assume that once the virus makes its way through the last of the infected hosts (if contained) it can no longer survive.

Even after this is over the effects will be long term. I'll bet there will be a run on chest freezers.

It's incredible. You'd think it would be food, water or medicine X. Nope, everyone is too preoccupied with how they're going to wipe their *****. I'm thinking about starting to sell the tp I do have. Wonder how much I could get for a roll in a couple days.

So were the owners of the house until they realized they only had one roll of toilet paper left...

Looks like an official introduction to video games for my kids. Fortunately it was my wife's idea so I take no blame if they become junkies.

I started to really unhealthily focus on fomites today and realized that saturating the keyboard, mouse, phone, countertop, desk etc at work with OCD level of disinfectant wipes isn't going to protect me from the virus chilling on the chair arms. It's either time for a biohazard suit or something that can emit UV rays in a radius around my body. I might try that garlic belt first that I read about a few pages back... Anyhoo, stay safe at those grocery stores and avoid those aisles with wine bottles.

You could have chimed in BEFORE I built this goddam catapult!

Facial disguises have been working well for me. I think the cashiers realize I'm the same person but are giving me credit for going to such a great length for a pack of toilet paper.

I knew I wasn't bright but I didn't realize I had a negative IQ.

We're gonna be wiping our ***** with them when the napkins run out. ?

That has been the speculation by some early on. The fact that it seems to have started in close proximity to a virology lab in the Wuhan area. My interest was piqued when I read that the genome sequencing of it was identified in "less than two weeks" by Chinese officials when it allegedly takes six months to a year. They attributed the rapid identification to a "probable advancement in technology". Really? Like all of a sudden? I don't work in the medical field and those that do on here could probably shut me down on this faster than a backup goalie against the Sabres' offense but that's what I read. I don't have the energy to find a link either but it is/was out there and I'm sure it can be located.

Thanks and thanks for your insight on this subject. Thanks to everyone who has provided pertinent information regarding this matter.

Looking for advice from engineers on here on how to construct a low budget moat. Gators optional. Everyone's been whipped into a frenzy in such a short amount of time. I think the realization of inconvenience is setting in for a lot of people. The fact that people are emptying shelves at stores is just making matters worse by congregating in close proximity in these areas. I'm not saying don't be overly cautious but the hysteria is not helping. It's a domino effect. If I bought all the plastic utensils from the local stores would people obsess about finding them if they passed by an empty shelf where they used to be? "Margaret, I don't know why but they're sold out of plastic utensils at Walmart!!!" "Well you need to find them Dave! Go to Tops and Wegmans! Don't come home without those ***** utensils!"

This. There is a chance at my job location of coming in contact with airborne pathogens. We have N95 masks available everywhere and we're fitted for size.
