Ahhhh-tumn starts tomorrow. What do you love about it?
Indabuff replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
That's a sign a chrome run is right around the corner and probably already is. As is comfortable weather, beautiful foliage, less mowing, Halloween and scary AF movies. I ***** love autumn. -
I'm all for the vaccine however I have been of the mindset that it's at the discretion of an individual to get the shot or not. That being said, recently it's been almost daily that I've had to hear people grandstanding about their anti-vaccination stance and I too am sick of it. I don't want to debate the fact that when I was a kid you didn't attend school if you weren't vaccinated. It wasn't negotiable. Or that I'd rather die from some unknown factor of the vaccine later than die from the virus now. I have remained silent. I can't comment on anyone here because I have not visited this thread in quite some time. My mother died from this virus (I have a hard time saying or typing the actual name) six months ago. She was in the ICU for a month. We just held her service Friday. To all the people gloating about their "***** you I won't do what you tell me" mentality: shut the ***** up.

Maybe Pittsburgh is still legit and ends up 13-3 just like us this year.

Dunno. Can't speak for others but I think a lot of it has been media driven. Hard to temper expectations when talking heads believe this team is Super Bowl bound. Just my opinion.

Looked like Wallace gave up some big plays to me.

Looked like a bunch of WRs dropped some passes. Not sure if it was on them or JA.

Daboll getting cute

You need some of them spike lugs. Didn't chariots of Colosseum times have those? I always envision two tractor trailers trading sparks with those things at 2 am on some interstate main drag.

They signed a 40 year old goalie. Personally, that pretty much tells me all I need to know about their mindset on the upcoming season and it's not enticing me to run out and buy some new Sabres gear.

Fine, I'll say it; nick Wrong.

I just cooked a batch from Wegmans last night and forgot to mention a different aroma that I've noticed for the last several months from the wings; post deep fry. Surprisingly, right before I put sauce on them my wife asked "why they smelled like that".

RJ States this will be His Final Year Announcing Sabres Games

Here's to hoping this exposition of ineptitude is able to pull something out of thin air this year for RJ's sake. -
I agree but in February when it's 0 out and I smell the fryer exhaust from them pumping out of some local hole-in-the-wall corner bar my appetite for them is insatiable. I will say though I cook lots of fingers for the wife and kids and the taste has been consistent whether I use vegetable, canola or peanut. Something is going on with the wings themselves.

Waring Pro as well. Temp maxes out at 375 on my model.

I guess what irks me the most is the disparity of why wing prices skyrocketed. During the initial Covid wave wing prices drastically increased. Most restaurants were already selling them for roughly $1 each. Then some media outlets began interviewing restaurant owners about the state of the wing (price increase, removed from menu etc) and a few individuals referenced 2018 as to when wing prices jumped. Well to my knowledge 2018 and Covid aren't on the same wavelength. It seemed depicted as though the prices would come back down but I'm not buying that (no pun intended). I've recently been to restaurants that have a fixed price point for oysters and "market price" for wings. Unfortunately I have a feeling ordering wings is going to be a "special occasion" for me from now on.

I'll have to look into the Sysco suggestion. Maybe Restaurant Depot carries boxes of wings?

I used to buy the frozen wings but there seemed to be a slight aftertaste. I switched to fresh and never went back. I've tried sectioning and using fresh and freezing for later use but I'm not sure I notice a huge difference. I prefer peanut oil. It seems ideal after a few uses. 375 for me as well. Trying to achieve that crispy outside, tender inside. I've also wondered if it has something to do with sectioning. If I accidentally cut or nick the bone with kitchen shears does the blood/marrow affect the taste?

Being from the Buffalo area I've consumed a lot of wings in my lifetime. I mean a lot. From working at a pizzeria for many years, to ordering them out and making them at home when I can I'm guessing I'm functioning at 90% artery blockage. Maybe it's a good thing for my heart that the price of wings have soared however; is this the beginning of the descent of the wing? I can't bring myself to spending nearly $2 for a wing. I've also noticed that for some unexplained reason (soylent green?) the taste of wings I make at home are not the same. My brother makes them at home as well and mentioned the same thing. Specifically when it comes to the drums. Anyone else experiencing anything similar? Opinions on the state of the wing?
