You guys all have good and bad in your analogies.....IMO it's way too early to compare anything, but your "thoughts" could all be relevant. here's my good and bad(or just bad LOL) The Leafs went to OT against Canadians, LOST to Ottawa, had to go to OT and score 7g to beat Chicago and beat Dallas while having to score at least 5g to win. Not one of these teams made the playoffs last year and most were near us in the standings. With that said....if Vegas beats the Caps tonite does that mean WE should win the Cup this year because we beat Vegas? LOL

Soooo, are you saying they should never have a day off? And if not, why complain about a day here and there? Even though it's entertainment, a game, something they love to do, it's still pretty much a job. Do you get days off?

Not really....there are so many people nowadays that have or had shortcomings either physical, mental or just social that seem they need to "deflect" attention in another direction. Mostly on someone they don't really even know and may be getting the good kind of attention due to all they are capable of. Jealousy is a big factor in a good number of cases.

Lehner: Isles are "like being part of a real team"

He was talking about Ottawa, maybe? LOL -
If he continues his pace of 4pts in 3gms that will put him at 109pts ....McD level? We would then be considering him a steal @ 10m.
-
And there still isn't...so it would seem, lol but I get it now, thanks.

OK, that wasn't clear I don't think.

a la Brad Richards, Rick Nash, etc...what makes you think he would want to come here anyway? To mortgage your future for a guy who score over 70% of his goals more than 10 years ago and hasn't played here in the last 5yrs, not to mention he's 35yrs old, doesn't make sense. Sure, I might want him here as a cheaper vet that could probably contribute some...but not at what it would've taken to get him here for a short while. Hope he does well for LA but I don't see him as the Savior.

Phil Housley's Future as Sabres Head Coach
MakeSabresGrr8Again replied to Kruppstahl's topic in The Aud Club
New attitude and change things around.....what did you expect from the $10M man child? Isn't this the same kid that played under the same coach last year and had a .95 pts / gm average? How many pts did he have against the Bruins? He sure changed allright... and that's on the coach cuz he made him heartless and boring. Relax, it's only one game for cryin' out loud. -
I wouldn't worry....even if we turn this around and become a winning team, someone will have something to b&%ch about lol.

I just think it's time to bring up the "Buffalo sports jinx" theory... -

Because he's where he belongs....a back-up and not playing much. -
Phil Housley's Future as Sabres Head Coach

I think that was more the GM's doing ...nice job of finding the right guys who were capable and had the desire to prove themselves to over-achieve given the 2nd chance at making a their careers a success. Good mix of young and vet players. He gave the coach the players to work with. But surely I take nothing away from the coaching or the players. Your comparison is not the norm though for an expansion team but it would be nice to see Vegas continue to be competitive and not look like an expansion team going forward. Was it a fluke? If they DON"T keep it up then we might have to "revisit" our posts here. And by the way...welcome newby!! -
Sorry, I thought the LOL would show my sarcasm. With people calling for HCPH's head and replacing him with Taylor because Housley didn't have them prepared for the 1st game, I thought it was interesting that the Amerks also seemed "unprepared" and lost their 1st game. That being said....I'm all in on these guys making the big club, especially Pilut (love his game).
