  1. I wouldn't go out on the lake fishing with the guy without bringing an extra life jacket.
  2. When Eichel earns his spot on the top line......just kidding,LOL
  3. Aaaaahhhhh, wet dreams, haven't had those in awhile.
  4. capfriendly says RFA.
  5. If you read my previous post where I admitted that the internet had a big affect, then you could say I agree to a point that it made a difference. The internet was always there and people had access to it, just in a more limited way. The phones made that access more readily available at times where it wasn't prior.Such as the cashier at the grocery store tweeting/ texting/ talking to her BFF while cashing you out, or being able to access the internet while sitting in your car on break or hiding in the bathroom stall at work. The internet has only changed the speed in which that info is processed and the amount of info available, the phones have pretty much done the rest. My real idea is based on when things are going well. If the team is winning and we don't need a 2C, GT is not in question, Sobotka is off the team, Risto talk is finally decided one way or another, HCRK is proven to be the "whisperer", and Botts gets over the ROR trade, ......will there be anything to talk about? Hence less posts.
  6. But it's not what I said.
  7. Not what I said, but thanks for mis-communicating that.
  8. Disagree slightly....internet hasn't changed as much as phones and services accessed by them.
  9. While internet access has probably made a good bit of difference, I think there is a bigger reason behind the additional posts. Uncertainty breeds contempt and contempt breeds discussion on how to fix things. In the '06-'07 season was there much question about our top 6 (even the top nine?). We've likely made our D better this off season (yet to be truly determined) but how much question was there in '06? Miller and Biron versus Hutton/ Ullmark? Stable coach vs new coaching staff? A winning team vs an unknown entity. All the uncertainties are what causes the discussions to be amped up. Do you talk much about your kitchen sink faucet before it starts leaking?
  10. We've been waiting how long for this? I pretty much agree with you but it involves hope and risk, something that been a bit hard to find in recent years. Trying my best, I've had that hope every year and stayed optimistic until about half way through each season. This season I'm in more of a guarded mode with emotions, especially seeing Vlad still here.
  11. Even if Pekar doesn't rise to the same as Peca I'm sure the jokes will be similar.
  12. But we must be careful not to put him in the same situation that made him want out of Carolina.....not the best of linemates to accent his talents.
  13. You forgot one thing..... Our prospects are good enough to undeniably push Sobotka off the cliff. Add several points.
  14. I disagree....for me, the biggest issue is starting to win so none of these players "loses their love for the game."
  15. I don't have a problem with Cozens returning to Jrs...... .....what I would have a problem with is all the talk about "competition" and "earning a spot on the roster" just being LIP service. What if Cozens truly is one of the top 6-9 players on the ice every day? What does that do to his confidence and development? Do you lose faith in the organization that even if you are better than another player that you won't get the spot because you're only 18 and they want you to develop? Can keeping players in a development process longer than needed actually hurt them? I hope not and probably no real evidence that it does but sometimes you have to wonder. I had high hopes for players in the past (Baptiste was one) that I thought maybe didn't get a real good chance (and the development system probably wasn't that great) and I think it hurt him (likely to see him play tonight on the other team).
  16. Given up on Mitts? LOL I'd like him to go back too, but he's much better than players we are expecting on the roster come Oct. and I think his style and speed would bode well for what we are trying to build here. Against some of our better judgements, I hope he can force managements decision.
  17. I think he's ahead of the curve when it comes Mitts. Love his style and compete. Battles hard and usually wins the battles. Brings a complete 200-ft game and at 18yrs old. Exciting to watch and think how far this kid can go.
  18. It's hard to say if Okposo is slower or....the rest of the team is faster, or....a little of both. TT looks faster and guys like Cozens, Asplund, CJ Smith and Ruotsalainen. Then look at the speed and skating ability of the D-men Joker, Gilmour, and Bryson. It all makes a guy like KO stand out as the snail.
  19. Not really a problem for me. I look at it this way....if you want to pay for that subsciption that's up to you and the info you get from it can be used however you feel fit to do so. Personally, if I don't subscribe and miss out on something....my bad and it's on me. I just feel that most of these sites are very little fact and more opinion. I'm not into paying for someone's opinion even if it gets me a slight edge on what's happening. Most of these stories will come out eventually somewhere if their any good, especially when it comes down to hindsight.
  20. Will Sobotka do? You could say you were trying to help the Sabres "cut" him.
  21. I think this was put out there for a reason....so Montreal can offer sheet him at 7yrs and AAV of $8.6M.
