But just recently the Sabres were in talks with San Jose about a trade for Martin Jones. This need may change in the eyes of the new regime as a priority.

Actually it's 16 teams. Any of those teams could be in the lottery or the actual playoffs. Just for clarity....I am only trying to be neutral about this and show the other side of it. My posts on the topic are not to be any confirmation of either side of the argument.

If the regular season is over, then those 8 teams should not be playing and therefore should be in the lottery as usual.

They aren't "in" the playoffs. It's a play-in round to get to the playoffs.

I just looked at Wilkes-Barre and they had about 18 players 25yrs old and up on the roster (remember Phil Varone?). I'm pretty sure we had a younger group. Charlotte Checkers only had 10. Edit...after further review we also had about 18.

I don't think there's anyway you meet the cap with all those players on the team.

Most firings (esp management) are done in this manner due to security reasons, such as keys and computer access to company info. I gave my 2 weeks notice at a job and was escorted to an office where I had to surrender keys and badge, then I was told I could finish the day saying my goodbyes to co-workers. They paid me the full 2 weeks. My keys and badge allowed access to secured areas and computer clearance to certain things inaccessible to the common workers.

Your last statement is pretty much where I was gonna go. It's what JBot gave him to work with. I think it was better to take a chance on Skinner rather than put VO in a position to fail. I think it will help VO long term with his confidence and Jeff will come back, he's a seasoned vet. As long as Botts nails down the 2C spot they'll both be fine.
