  1. He does so little he's unlikely to get injured but you never know. I wouldn't sit him but if I was Adams I wouldn't wait until we get squeezed at the deadline, I'd move him now for whatever the best offer so far is. and I don't really care what it is, just get him gone. Forever.
  2. Philly wants a goalie. I think they have a lot of young forward prospects.
  3. I'd rather play players like Fogerty. No added question marks or iffy types. Just character guys and the kids.
  4. Olafsson can be really weak on the puck at times........ It's nice to see that (to some extent) we seem to be losing our fear of the blue paint. Progress. I really like Fogerty. Not that skilled but plays hard and goes to the net. Love it. I really hate Taylor Hall. Giveaway giveaway after giveawy. I really hate Taylor Hall. One last thing. I really hate Taylor Hall.
  5. Don't get why some of you want to snap up garbage rejects from other teams. We have enough of that on this roster already. Can we waive Skinner?
  6. It's not about laying it on one guy but it does make a difference imo. Eichel just doesn't have the right personality for it and would be better just focusing on scoring and not having to be that guy. ROR should have been given the C. Remember when Eichel got the C there was lots of talk about leading by example on the ice and so forth but clearly that wasn't leadership. Reinhart should also be a vocal leader at this point, but he's not. You can argue about his skill level and committment, but neither of those core players has leadership skills. We don't have enough leaders imo and that's what we need to address more than anything in terms of trades or free agents.
  7. More importantly, if you've noticed, he's acting like a team captain and leading. In the absence of Eichel he's stepped up and you can see him talking to guys, congratulating, rallying them, etc. basically lifting the emotional side and simply leading. Is that perhaps one of things helping this team? I don't know, but maybe. Said it for a while and stick with it. Eichel's a crap captain and it does make a difference.
  8. I hope Toronto's stupid enough to take him.
  9. Careful you don't break something when you fall off this bandwagon 🙂 At least wait until the rangers game to see if they play the same way or fall back into the usual with the monkey lifted off.
  10. This is my fear. Nothing against him personally but a late season rise giving the false impression that everything is okay.
  11. Well it certainly was nice to see a real hockey game for a change. I don't know how I feel about winning though. On the one hand yes, glad to see a win, but on the other the mark of futility means a greater likelihood of big changes that I think are still needed. I don't want there to be a thought that maybe it's not so bad and next year it'll be better, just blame it all on Kreuger. I don't want another year of the same. But this was fun. One thing to add though, and that's Hall is a complete waste of space (and money). When they all sucked he just blended in as one of the rest but now with many players working and skating his poor play really stands out. So many giveaways and such incredible disinterested ineffectiveness. He was our worst player and I doubt we get a lot for him at the deadline. Get him gone asap.
  12. It's really odd. We are considerably faster than we were under Kreuger and it's hard to figure out why. I can't imagine Kreuger said "skate slow and don't move your feet" or could he have??? We still make some dumb passes and giveaways but we're definitely faster. Strange very strange. Then again, the Flyers kind of suck. Vigneault looking like a poor coaching choice.
  13. More than some of his team mates have done. At least he blocked a shot 🙂 I was amused reading Staal talking about "putting the Buffalo experience behind him" when one of the reasons it was so bad was BECAUSE of him.
  14. Record breaking night. Come on guys you can do it!!!!!!!!! I mean how can they not. Casey is our #1 centre. He's "seizing the opportunity."
  15. The Kings and Rangers are always being mentioned but I think that's just speculative. Both of those teams seem like they are already on an ascendency back to competing for the playoffs and have lots of young talent waiting so the only way they toss that aside is if they can fleece us for Eichel and we presumably aren't giving him away................hopefully. I could see a Boston trade if we accept mostly draft picks as they are desperate to rebuild offense and Krejci's just about done and they love Boston guys but that isn't likely either.
  16. hockeywriters piece was reading had LeBrun saying Buffalo wanted a 2nd for Staal but nobody offered it so they took the 3rd and 5th. Also says they are looking for a 1st for Hall but he doubts we get it as it's a buyer's market.
  17. Of course. Cornerstone of any successful franchise. I mean look at the Bruins. great solid organization but they've laid an egg in a few big drafts and as a result are starting to fade as the core ages. Happens to any team that fails in the draft. But you want to build a solid building you need a strong foundation first. That's what this new management could help bring us.
  18. Bringing back the lunch bucket work hard philosophy that went with them would be a good start to a proper rebuild.
  19. I think this is the key. If the organization does a visible reset and you have credible people on top and a new and clear vision/direction then there will be players who want to be part of that. Maybe at first mostly guys looking for a new start but it won't take long to be attractive again with the right type of leadership.
  20. I think maybe you're nitpicking semantics. We all mean the same basic thing in that regard.
  21. We're eating enough cap hits already. Philly has a horrible D, he is the worst. He might be worse than Montour. We could pick him up, but it would signal there's going to be no change in direction or philosophy here and we will keep losing just swapping out one bad player (Montour) for another. I'd rather they spent that money elsewhere.
  22. It's not about size only it's about heart. It's about playing big not necessarily being big. Contrast then and now. Mike Peca, Tage Thompson. Need I say more (and I didn't even use the extreme of Danny Briere :))
