today i started listening to the NHL channel on sirius xm streaming. they talked about the hall signing for a minute. they said flat out, the sabres have no chance of re-signing hall next year and the sabres still have no chance of making the playoffs. i dont want to try to say i am an expert because i am far from it. however, i dont see how they could say such a thing on either case. first, hall came here because the money was good and because of kruegar. i believe i read that colorado offered similar money and 2 years. second, i dont see how you cant say the sabres arent a playoff team at this point. they have 2 elite lines, they have very good 3rd line, and their 4th line could match up nicely with anyone. they have OK defense, sure it could be better. the only thing that truly concerns me is they dont have great goalies. hutton was great and then he was horrible. if we believe his eye was really the problem, i dont see him being a big issue. if we dont believe it, then we probably do have an issue there. ullmark is a #2, really. i hate to say it. however, i think with the sabres offense, they can put up big numbers. i honestly dont see the sabres not making the playoffs this year. i guess signing up for the streaming when i did was maybe not the best timing. it was 30 minutes into streaming when they started talking bad about the sabres. i only signed up because marty biron said he was on at 5pm for a show. i wanted to hear it...and i got a free echo dot.

i listened to the show and the interview was a mess. i dont think hall knew what was going on. its fine to talk about the players random interests, but this was just odd. i really enjoy the instigators, but when they interview players, its just weird to me. they put on this act, instead of their normal interaction. even when they interviewed staal, it was odd. with that, i enjoy biron more than the others. if he had his own show, with someone that he bounced off with, but marty was the main host, it would be a great show.

im not buying that...which means its 100% true

its funny, i was watching it with my wife on youtube and she commented on this guy looking like he just got out of bed. cant say i blame him, i havent brushed my hair in 6 months and only shaved 3 times during the same period

there was supposed to be a 2pm press conference with hall. has that been made available yet? i havent found it
-
i didnt know it. i dont follow football at all
-
what does smash into a fold up table mean? is that like wwf wrestling stuff?

i think the sabres need to sign reinhart. they got hall, who will probably bring in 70 to 80+ points, but if you let sam go, that is 50 points right there.

i said it last year, i thought the sabres would surprise a lot of people. and they did, for a little while until the wheels fell off. i will say it again this year, i think the sabres can make the playoffs this year. i also feel if they can get 1 solid defenseman (big in size) and a top line goalie, they will have a chance to do something special. they definitely need someone who can play big. i know tage thompson is big, but i dont know if he is tough. seeing how tampa tossed them around last year, makes me really believe it i am really looking forward for this season

i didnt know they werent on today. meh. i did listen to the sabres interviews, but i HATE football. even listening to it for 1 minute is too long for me
-
thanks everyone. i was certainly not into rushing him but i love good goaltending, so i am interested in the sabres having great goaltending
-
it was either him or his people (its the same thing). the announcers talked about it for several games
-
im looking forward to listening to the instigators this morning, i put an entry into my calendar to remind me 🙂
-
the only thing preventing the sabres from the playoffs this year would be injury or our goaltending (or both). the sabres tending was horrific. i remember a stretch where hutton gave up 5 goals per game in what felt like an entire month. its nearly impossible to win. i dont buy that garbage of my eye stopped moving right. i hope im wrong, but i dont bet the season on it

i would like to see how skinner does with staal. staal is a slower skater. we know from 2 seasons ago that skinner is great with eichel. i like the idea of staal and hall on the 2nd line. either way, the sabres have 1a and 1b lines this season. their 3rd line wont look too bad either

i will be honest. sam gives a respectable 50 points every season. granlund would make us better, but of all the players to get rid of, sam isnt even on my top 5. risto did make it publicly known he wanted out last year. he would be my first, along with hutton. i dont see anyone taking hutton without buffalo eating 50% of his salary. the sabres have minor league quality goaltenders. that should be their priority, especially when there was 5 or 6 on free agency that they could have afforded.
-
i will be honest. if i remember correctly, risto gave grief last year saying he wanted out publicly. i say trade risto for fleury just to get him out of here. although, i suspect risto makes too much

i am trying to remember vesey's play. i suspect the fact that i dont remember it will sum up his play pretty well.

how long before ukko pekka luukkonen will be called up. any chance its this year as a part time backup? or is he 2 to 3 years our? is he still projected to be a great goaltender? or is he another ullmark (should be career backup)? I dont follow the lower levels of hockey, but it looks like he had a rough go at it in Rochester, but did well with the cyclones. I was able to watch i think 2 games on the tv with him playing, and he looked OK to me, but i am nowhere near able to judge talent.

i suspect joker and dahlin will be here long term. staal will probably retire
-
the stealing of staal alone is more than jbot
-
kevyn adams did more in the 15 minutes he has been a GM than all of the time JBot did (or didnt do)

i was supposed to go last season. i had tickets to the end of march, which was obviously cancelled. unfortunately its unlikely i will ever get the opportunity to go again. i always dreamed of gong to see the sabres in buffalo
-
unfortunately, the sabres didnt get in on one of 900 goaltenders available in free agency this year. i mean the devils got crawford. i wish the sabres got him
