Kahun moves his feet, but unlike Sheary isn’t falling all over the ice Simmonds is creating chances with Skinner. They’re bound to finish on one of these soon. That line isn’t a total defensive liability anymore either, though it’s clearly still the line other teams try to match up against. -
Reinhart plays too passive when paired with Eichel. He also isn’t a ying to Oloffson’s yang on the forecheck. Our top line has been too silent lately. Break them up!!!!

That was more on Eichel than line change timing. He coasted in -
Ya that’s basically how statistical analysis works. Players who shadow superstars are going to get points whether they showed up and hustled that game or not if their coach is always going to pair them regardless. And the numbers are higher for Jack despite the same percentage. Meaning it’s more likely it’s a Jack effect that Reinhart is riding and not the other way around.
-
They didn’t have their top 6 guys until after that little stretch and have been playing great since. If we had multiple injuries to defenseman we would be in great shape. Instead we lost our starting goalie and what little offense we had Year after year the healthiest teams typically make the playoffs and the injured ones don’t. Few exceptions
-
I’m not drawing a conclusion that Sam shows well in losses based on those numbers. That was my eye test. I’m just disproving that metric as counter evidence because you can’t dissociate it from Jack
-
Yeah, very similar. Can’t really draw a conclusion about Sam when Jack is having the same effect and they play together all the time.
-
Is there significant interaction between Jack and Sam for the same metric of wins with points back wins without? aka What’s Eichel numbers?
-
Is that not a lesser Jack metric?

Rumor: About Botterill’s Future Being in Doubt
triumph_communes replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Does he have any real sources? He claims it’s in discussions with the ‘higher ups’, but only the owners are higher than Botterill... -
Seems like a drastic difference over some puck bounces, especially after we played without 2/6 top 6 players for a quarter of the season. It really should come down to whether they’re playing good hockey or not. Last two years were borderline hopeless with some positive development out of some at least. This season is good hockey with bad goalies and special teams killing them and injuries on a thin forward corp being a lost gamble. I’m hard pressed to see Botterill leave unless we lose out and the team gives up
-
Tage will be ready next year, whether 2nd or 3rd line is the question. When he isn’t with Sobotka and teenage Mittelstadt I wouldn’t worry as much about his flaws being so exposed. He improved in the AHL quite well last year
-
I think generally he only shows up when the team is losing. When the team is playing well he’s invisible.
-
The GMs riding on internal talent are playing well. The ones who didn’t have a pipeline are struggling. imagine that. trading away all our 1st rounders and having no depth makes the GM a few years later have a tough time. These threads are exhausting.

This is the thing. You are NOT presenting the stats. You are presenting the graphical representations of the models. Give me a Rsq and a p value OF THE MODELS WITH WINNING and I might give your little tirades more thought than they currently deserve. -
I think if we traded Reinhart for a real forward these graphs would fix themselves quick. Plus give it time for the recent trades to build up numbers

Now show me Scandella last season vs Scandella this season and tell me how those stats are meaningful ? hint: they’re not. Plotting models doesn’t mean they match up with reality -

Frustrating loss but if they play like that down the stretch then playoffs are a lock. Hope for the if -

The struggling line creates traffic and gets a dirty goal. If that line is producing were in good shape
