Chaotic game. But Montreal is a good team, but I felt like they lost their legs mid game and if they didn’t we were in trouble. Still hope as the season goes on the passing will improve. Hutton saved quite a few close ones. Don’t blame him for any of the goals against. Only liability out there was Vesey. He has no urgency and is slow. Krueger has work to do there. Dahlin with the hiccup leading to a goal and a really weak penalty for the other. He will be fine. Rodrigues doesn’t quite appear to understand the system yet. I see why he’s been benched. Sobotka sucks. Want to see Tage in place of either of them. Eichel for a second game is punished for being weak on the puck along the boards. He shot the puck and was rewarded tonight. Really like Miller and Johansson. Great off season pick ups. Entertaining hockey. Points in every game, can’t complain too much.

Risto got stick checked on the release. It was a deflection. ***** luck all around. Hope Dahlin doesn’t get benched even though you could blame him for both.

Vesey was the only noticeably bad player I noticed in the game. That’s a huge compliment to Sobotka and Okposo as they used to always be in that department. He lost all his puck battles and kept coughing up breakout attempts that went through him. It appeared because he was being lazy. We have enough depth I hope his laziness is rewarded with a benching. We have no room for that on a deep roster.

Stole a point. Hopefully a good learning experience for the challenge they faced. Not many teams will play heavy like CLB has perfected, and with their passing being off that becomes a crux. These points will be important later glad they got it. Eichel will get over being outplayed by Folingo all game.

It’s not the lines. It’s the passing being off tape so much. CLBs two goals were just lucky bounces too. Isn’t the end of the world. They just met a heavy team and didn’t adjust quick enough.

I really like how we enter the zone with speed, especially when taking over the puck in the neutral zone. Even when CLB is playing back we’re walking in. Been struggling to connect on slot passes though. and Vesey is noticeably bad out there tonight. Hot seat I would think.

You can’t pin the goals against on any one player. They were bad breaks and good shots. but they were playing way too much defense that period. Their passes not being on target are being eaten up by an aggressive CLB team. GLO line maintained possession but the other lines are struggling to. They look like they need a wake up. Good test for the boys

Krueger has a better roster, but just compare Girgensons and Sobotka from one coach to the next. Housley was BAD. His system might’ve been fine, but he was a bad coach.

What fans call the 4th line has been getting 2nd/3rd line minutes in each game. Just no PP time. Same with D pairings- journalists are too afraid to put McCabe-Risto as first pairing, but they are employed just like it. Scandella-Joki are out there whenever Eichel is. Numbering the lines is more of the archaic system.
