  1. Is there a way to set up an alert on your phone, maybe through google, that alerts you whenever an Islanders game is going to a shootout? ?
  2. You know they've been shopping him aggressively for the last year (which is what I've also heard from a guy who I trust), or that a trade is actually imminent?
  3. Or even if he just bulks up and learns how to throw his weight around. Perhaps a net-front presence who can also snipe? Could make for an intriguing PP cycle. Someone other than Eichel who has a deadly one-timer, and can also park in front of the net
  4. He has a better shot than any of them. I'd like to finally have a few guys who can put the puck in the net. Would be nice to have a forward that actually has a shot who's not named Eichel
  5. I understand your frustration, but you seem to be engaging in an exercise of reiteration
  6. Ok. Dear season ticket holders: You need to chill
  7. The Sabres have the talent on paper to pick up the slack for O'Reilly's production The shoring up of the bottom 6 with proven, experienced players (not Roch call-ups) may pick up the slack of ROR's contribution to defensive play. Add to that goaltending competency, and it doesn't look so bad And he needed to go, which is why he's gone. If he didn't need to go, he'd be here. I believe that. Everybody needs to chill.
  8. No, I think JBot is just trying to get brownie points with TPegs, seeing if a team is dumb/desperate enough to pay his bonus
  9. Was Lou fired, or did he not renew his contract?
  10. Those clips show a great competitiveness. Lehner had competitiveness, but sub-NHL fundamentals
  11. Yes, 2.75 AAV + ELC for our goaltending situation- it's great having a cap-nerd GM!
  12. not being good at your position will definitely get you a bad rep!
  13. it's working for me http://www.hockeydab...freeagency.html
  14. Yeah, the reporting that "Sabres paying bonus makes trade less likely" goes against my intuition
  15. Maybe I'm going insane- the first time I clicked, it didn't work. Then I clicked a few minutes later, and it worked...
  16. can somebody post that TSN streaming link again? I forgot where it was posted originally
  17. Perhaps they have more than 1 good deal on the table, and they're trying to leverage them... "He's yours if you pay the bonus"
  18. but don't forget, Lehner could make big, impressive saves when we were down 4-1 with 6 minutes left in the 3rd
  19. Are they mistaken? Don't they know TPegs is mr deep pockets?
  20. Besides our good players becoming better (Casey, Eichel, Samson, Guhle), I think not having Lehner will have the most noticeable impact on this team's improvement in the coming season. I'm thrilled.

  22. My impression is not that the NHL "likes" the agreement, but rather, the Canadians in the NHL bureaucracy uphold it as a pro-Canada measure. The CHL feels its ticket sales would decline if they lost talent to the NHL sooner. As mentioned above, I don't think this jibes with a "free-market" approach of league relationships. It is very protectionist of the Canadians- but having lived there for a couple of years, they are very protectionist with so many of their policies, vis-a-vis the USA
  23. I know from a source that he is a severe head-case. Not what we want in our locker room, I'd have to believe
  24. You could tell Dahlin was tired, but he had the skill to go end-to-end. With 3-on-3 format and having defensive responsibility, he can't compete with a forward who can float in the high slot in the d-zone. He had to constantly go from deep in his d-zone to the opposite end of the ice, and then back-check when the other team gained possession. Not a good format for him to show what he can do. Wait till preseason, though ;)
