  1. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with your assessment of ERod as a player
  2. It has to be agreed upon and paperwork done and accepted by the league, right?
  3. forecheck very impressive today
  4. Sabres should have a fundraiser with Rob Ray participating in a spelling bee
  5. can't tell if he targeted the head
  6. Frolik was trying so hard to give the puck away in Pit's zone. He decided the best way was to lose it on a sad wrap-around attempt.
  7. That should be the job of the head of the scouting dept, no?
  8. To early to say for sure
  9. PLF? (Speculation, and obviously not exactly a GM) Ignoring/dismissing may have been an overstatement for the purpose of making a point. I'm sorry if it clouded my argument. The crux of the point I was making is that JBot is not perceived as someone who pushes with appropriate fervor against ownership.
  10. I'm just reiterating what I've heard from someone directly involved in the operations of another NHL franchise, which seems at odds with your assertion EDIT: To expound further: it's entirely possible that JBot is very assertive with TPegs, and maybe even stood up to him from time to time. Let's use ROR as an example. Maybe JBots was on the verge of quitting over it, and insisted on a different course of action, but in the end, coalesced for the purpose of saving his job. Or, he just did what Terry asked, and didn't put up much of a fight. That is the perception around the league.
  11. Additionally, he needs somebody to tell the owner that some of ownership's decisions/input are going to be outright ignored/dismissed, because JBot doesn't have the balls to do so himself (and this is the perception league-wide re:JBot)
  12. A source of mine told me (months ago) that JBot is perceived by other front offices around the league as "in self-preservation mode;" looks like other GM's are just going to have their way with him.
  13. I was assuming it is some sort of procedural thing. First step suspend, then terminate?
  14. Are there any stipulations on a player's status once their contract is terminated? Do they just immediately become a UFA (assuming they meet the other criteria)?
  15. If so, it is perpetuated by exhibits Drew Stafford and Jeff Skinner
  16. Just a personal anecdote- I remember watching Bogo w BUF soon after the trade. I was at a game in Jersey (believe Jagr was playing- every time he touched the puck I was terrified) I remember Bogo skating hard, hitting hard, and having a heavy shot. Sadly that player doesn't exist anymore. I had high hopes for him after seeing him in that game.
  17. Right when we're healthy enough to scratch ERod, he actually starts playing like an almost-NHL player. Despite his contributions, I just don't wanna see him in the lineup anymore. Wonder what RK will do.
  18. That's where I'm at. Open to being pleasantly surprised.
  19. Confident JBot can get it done?
  20. Hutton was channeling me in 8th grade
  21. My brother and I bought tickets for that game from a scalper- something like $30/ea for 4th row (we held out till the game started). Audette was literally right in front of us with that top-shelf slapper.
  22. The point is, it will be their best (read: biggest revenue-generating) players. It's like saying, "we're only taking one player out of the NHL" ...who happens to be Wayne Gretzky. The NHL has all of the leverage. I maintain the only reason the agreement is what it is now is because Canadian GM's want to preserve the CHL's relevancy as a cultural institution, and help bolster it financially.
  23. I'd rather the CHL doesn't get special treatment, which is what it's getting now. Sam Reinhart should have played his draft year in the AHL. Dylan Cozens should have(/should have had) the option of playing this year and next year in the AHL. IMHO But I agree the the rules should be uniform for all players.
